For sure, good upgrade of you use them. I’ve had the M1 MacBook Air for like three years and used the webcam one time.. just to FaceTime with a friend to tell them I got one. I love the wedge design a lot.. I do wish I had MagSafe but not a big deal. I will use this thing til it’s so slow I can’t anymore. I hope that’s many more years cause the display and speakers sound and look better than my TV
I actually found a 16gb RAM (256gb though) model for $500 second hand the other day! Absolute steal! Had just 9 charge cycles on it and they still had the box. I really did score on this one
@@arianndrecaj9920 Dunno, I don’t code or program anything. But the guy I bought it off of said that’s why he got it originally, specifically the model with more ram
I paid around $1240 back in 2021 for my M1 Air, 16GB Ram and 512GB storage. Account for inflation, it is crazy value for that machine. Easily one of the most economical machine I bought from Apple.
I went into Best Buy January 2021 when my Dell shit the bed. Was determined to get an XPS for $1k. The only one I’d have bought was like $1600 so I looked at the MacBook Air then at the specs.. left with it for $899+ tax and haven’t looked back. I still feel like I got a fantastic deal. It works better than any other laptop I’ve had and ironically costs 2/3 of what they did somehow. The M1 SoC is a monster… they really came out swinging with that one.
I have the 2020 M1 Pro, which is basically the same computer but with a fan and 100 nits more brightness, and I still love it so much. It has never let me down even while playing a game, streaming it on twitch, running Spotify, and hosting a FaceTime call. For anything other than heavy video editing, I would say these machines can handle it. And I only have the 8GB ram version, though I’d highly recommend 16 if you have the option, just for future proofing. Love the M1s!
I’d heavily recommend this to anyone that’s getting their first Mac or just needs a laptop for general purpose stuff and they want a Mac. I have an M1 8GB Air, base base model, and I’m able to do medium-load video editing (church videos and photography) and some IT stuff flawlessly. Still an amazing laptop
I’m looking at getting one. I’m wanting to make 4k videos on iMovie of my kids volleyball highlights and our puppies. Would 8 gig be enough? I just sold my 2017 MacBook Pro with 8 gig because it would slow way down and heat up when I was using iMovie. On eBay 16gig is around $100 more than the 8gig. I’ve seen some 8gig models go for $400-450.
Just bought one, my Windows laptop got damaged during my last business trip. I was actually waiting for next year for the M4 Air, but with using my iPad as a laptop and the mobile apps just didn’t work for me anymore. I was looking for something cheap that will last me at least a year or 2. According to the guys at iStore, the M1 Air will be supported until 2027. I’m hoping the 8gb won’t be a drag, my Windows laptop was i7 16gb RAM. Looking forward to better battery life, I’m used to 10min 😅
I had one in 2020.. and sold it because it gave me some problems with the logic board (or so they told me on Apple). I took an M1 Pro Macbook 14" but in these days I use an M3 Max Macbook 14". Still .. you know? I'd like to buy another M1 MacBook Air again!
I've had one since release, and i have no complaints, I use whiskey to play steam games, and Ive dropped it from high up and have had no problems. If I broke mine tomorrow I would buy a new one the same day.
I have the M1 Air. I would buy another one if I could find a used 16gb version. Or, even a M1 mini with 16gb. But, they are rare to find used where I am from. M1 is great even in 2024. The only issue is 8gb.
Guys, I plan to get one of these, 8 gigs 256 storage, second hand, for around 470 usd. Got 62 cycle + 91% battery max capacity. What do you guys think?
Great prices on these now, even in the UK places like Argos sell them for around £800 which is good. The only concern is 8gb RAM, if that will still be OK in 5 years time etc
I see people whine about the screen, but it's really no big deal. Yeah, it's a pretty standard screen, but standard screens are good these days. Some people seem to think in terms of "the best, most cutting edge luxury technology and total unusable garbage are the only two things that exist" when it comes to this stuff.
I love to buy M2 Air but only holding me is Slow Ssd speed on base variant compared to M1 Air Dont know why apple downgrade Ssd speed on M2 AiR now very confused which one to buy on 2024
I’m going to buy it this week. My first MacBook…I hope it lasts a long time. I fear Apple is gonna be shady because the M1 is still selling and very cheap so they may take it off future updates. But let’s hope not. 😅🤞🏾
my girlfriend wants one. i understand nothing about macs. just interested if its going to be possible to play some coop games on steam or no. nothing extreme ofc
3:13 , i hate to be that guy but for anyone considering the m2 and m3 models, they do have the updated 1080p webcam! :)
Oh shoot my bad, thanks for letting me know man

Now you can use your iphone, so webcam is irrelevant now.

how well does it perform against the i9 16 inch 2020

Just got one with 16 GB+256GB for $600 from back market, hope it last more years.
This is easily going to last you until the 2030's.

Hi, where is it $600? Best I can find it $699. Thanks!
I could find them on my local Facebook marketplace and on eBay at around that price
wait another year and get one of these for 300 bucks
Please remove the glitch effect, it's really making me dizzy
Dyo you think its great for programmers (cs student) for coding and stuff
how is it compared to a speced up i9 for video editing?
Neh I got the MacBook Pro m1 it’s a good laptop too
Anyone here using an M1 Air or are thinking of getting one? Let me know!
I'm using since January of this year, and I'm so satisfy for that price and power capability

Been using it since 2021 ang I love it. Very lightweight
I bought one this year (discounted once the M3 Air released) - went for M1 Air Space Grey 16GB RAM/512GB SSD - superb machine!
I'm craving for this but can't afford
just buy the 16 gb one ram otherwise u will regret
And when you install Linux, it becomes a perfect machine in 2024!
⭐️Great⭐️ Review
Gracias 🙏🏼
Thanks!
As a Linux user it looks better than my IBM thinkpad
I have one and I have installed Asahi Fedora Remix... and I AM SO SATISFIED!!!

I would kind of hope so. IBM hasn't made a Thinkpad since 2003.
can this laptop be used for a music composing/production…anyone??? I would appreciate some help on that topic. Thnx
Yes. Just get and external ssd to save your projects and media there.
For very, very light production. Composing? You can do that on paper if you're a real musician, so there's no reason a laptop can't do it.
It's probably gonna be better to use a MacBook Pro with M1 Max/16-32GB of RAM if you're using a lot of plugins, especially something like Kontakt.
I hear they’re “buggy”
