I totally agree with your 3 car theory. There's always been one thing that puzzles me about part 3. Marty materializes in 1885 and splits the fuel line. Instead of trying to get the DeLorean up to 88 mph through other means, why don't they drain the fuel from the DeLorean that Doc arrived in? That must have some left in the tank.
The ripple effect is only perceived by those time travelling. So Marty on his return at the end of the first film still has all of his memories of the less successful version of the family, he's aware of the change. Jennifer on the other hand is left in the alternate timeline with Einstein and the reality for them is overwritten by the changes made by Doc and Marty. We observe Marty up to the point the car should appear in the mine. At this point the car being there is a new reality for Marty (although he is completely unaware of the change) but would have always been there for everyone else. So as we watch BTTF 2 there would be 3 cars, but after the Doc is sent back to 1885 the newly created timeline would have had 4. My long winded way of expressing that both 3 and 4 are valid choices.
That’s what people always assume, but that’s not what the movie science supports and isn’t true (in my opinion). The ONLY reason the mine shaft car is there, is because of the time travel that occurred by Doc getting struck by lightning at the end of the second movie. The mine shaft car was then retroactively inserted into the timeline as a result of that 1885 trip. But since there’s really no way to prove either way, it’s all theory ha.
There are also 2 deloreans in 1885 when Marty comes back to get Doc. When Marty came back he was hit by indian arrow and lost gasoline. They could have taken the gasoline fuel from the earlier version of the delorean that Doc hid in the cave because that fuel would age 70 years in that cave regardles. Most probably Doc had to refuel the car in 1955 with fresh fuel while fixing it and putting new tires. By the way, by using the predestination concept of timetravel you can always help yourself in trouble if you have a time machine. Let's say you are stuck in 1885 with no fuel. All you have to do is make a decision that when your older self with a fixed time machine brings you spare parts and fuel to fix the earlier version of the time time machine, you will go forward in time to pick up that fuel an spare parts and take them back to your younger self to fix the time machine and close the loop. I know that if I had a time machine I would be making causal loops in which I could save myself from trouble, getting yet unexistent technology and knowledge and so on :)
How? The one that Doc. get sent back in is the same one he puts in the mineshaft, which is the one that Marty goes back in. At least, I think that's the movie's logic, anyway. I'm confused.
It has to be 4 DeLoreans because if the letter from Doc could reach Marty, then the 2015 DeLorean would also have to have been in the Delgado Mine as the timelines would have been written over (like the newspapers changing but to the entire timeline)
I explained that some in the video, but the ripple effect that caused the mine shaft Delorean to “appear”, happened at the end of the movie when all the other cars were already gone. It’s like the immediate change of the McFly family photo and the newspaper articles that changed immediately once Doc and Marty completed their time tasks. Some people think 3 cars, some 4, but it’s all theory basically ha.
The letter was only received by Marty after Doc was sent back to 1885. The mine Delorean didn't exist until Doc was sent back because it didn't exist then. The lighting sending doc back affected the timeline to which a Delorean was in the mine and doc sent the letter
basically 4, the wagon wheel delorean has been affirmed to be a different version on it. two run on road, one floats, and the other one runs on tracks.
You are correct, it is a 3 Delorean theory. However, if Jules and Verne had remained in 1885 and were still alive in 1955, then there would have been 4 Deloreans there on November 12.
IF Marty left 1885 in BTTF3 and went back to 1955 same day at midday (rather than Marty going to 1985 and having the car hit by the train), there would absolutely be 5 Deloreans there in 1955. All the other Deloreans must follow the path they do in the previous films and so the mineshaft Delorean absolutely would have to be there in this scenario..
I love that I’m not the only one who thinks like this. 🤓 sometimes I’ll be at work, trying to draw a diagram as to how to make sense the ‘back to the future’ timeline.
The problem of thinking that the delorean appeared in the mineshaft. After Doc was stuck by lightning and time had to wait until that moment. For the delorean to appear there. Suggests Doc could of avoided that moment and a alternative scenario did occur. But the time machine was malfunctioning and getting hit by lightning was a act of nature. Which both events in that moment of time was unforseen. But we have no indication that it did play out another way. I guess though, talking about a time travel series where every moment can be changed. The delorean might of been both there and not. Until the lighting strike happened and became fact. But because nobody really knew about how the lighting strike actually happened. Except for Doc, loosely and because he had no intention of changing that moment. He did like the idea of retiring in 1885. I still think the mineshaft delorean did appear. Only when Doc made up his mind to stop Biff in 1985. But this temporal situation does make you think. It is a real mind bender!
During the events of biff's actions got the better of him he stole the time machine misusing it giving the almanac to his young self in 1955 that catastrophic result which caused an alternate present of a nightmare of hill valley the courthouse turned into a casino, the town turned into a war zone, the burned out school and the tragedy in 1973 where Marty found out what had happened to his father which is his mistake that old biff did.
I agree with you but also pose an alternate theory... mineshaft Delorean was always there but in a different quantum phase. It was there and not there simultaneously kind of like Schrodinger's Cat box thought experiment. And until the events of the Delorean was struck by lighting took place it would not have been visible most likely but still somehow slowly becoming solid but invisible then transparent and more and more solid and more and more visible. But the actual stage would be unknown until you/they go there to locate it and the wave function collapses allowing you to see or not see the Delorean but it was there as soon as there was the letter to be delivered... which was its own Schrodinger's Cat box so-to-speak also... and the bet the Western Union delivery guy made with his co-workers that he told Marty he lost... was all part of a Schodinger's Cat box scenario of sorts lol pretty cool to think of it like that even though its just a movie and that type of time travel isn't real......... one would need the existence of the multiverse with different stages of time being played out in each of them for time travel type activity to take place imo
I think there could still be 4 deloreans in the same time period because when Marty received the letter from the 1885 doc (which took place before the delorean from the first movie went back to 1985) I would assume he already hid the delorean in the mine shaft
Car 1: Marty from 1985. Leaves at 10:04pm. Car 2: Old Biff from 2015. Leaves at 6:38pm. Car 3: Doc & Marty from 1985A. Struck by lightning prior to 10pm. The car in the Delgado Mine will NOT be present until 1985 Doc is sent back to 1885. BTTF operates on a linear cause and effect timeline, not predestination like Bill & Ted or Terminator.
I think both theories work, depending on which your preferred way of observing time-travel goes. But this trilogy seems to play around with both fixed and variable timeline concepts.
I subscribe to the 4 for this hypothetical time travel, otherwise you could say none of the other 3 would exist unless the first one I dk hit the trashcan in Marty’s driveway at the end of the 1st movie
The mineshaft Delorean didn’t appear until the 2015 Delorean in 1955 for struck by lightning, meaning it technically wasn’t there when the others were.
I do think there are for deloreans because when deleting a struck by lightning it sent doc to 1885 but if Marty got the DeLorean from The mineshaft that means it had to stay there for a couple of years in that mineshaft all alone and had to pass through Ole Miss from back to the Future part 2 future doc Brown from back to the Future part 2 and Marty McFly from back to the Future one so Marty had to get the DeLorean so we can go back to1985 but if doc went to 1885 he left it in The mineshaft in 1885 so if the DeLorean was in there from 1885 going through the natural course of time getting a bit rusted and dirty then it passes through future 2015 Biff future Marty future doc past Marty and past doc and that's why I think there are for deloreans and go on his side
In the back to the future the future is not written, the mineshaft delorean does not exist until the change is done when doc is struck by lightning. It never existed before that event
The Delgado Mine DeLorean was there the entire time, but I would rather discuss this: Once Marty ripped the fuel line going back to 1885, why wouldn't they just go to theine and take the fueling off that DeLorean and leave an addendum in the letter saying "fix the fuel line before coming back"...?! Boom. Marty and Doc leave 1895 together, and we have a new set of movies in an alternate reality.
“Technically” the mine shaft Delorean wasn’t there the whole time, because a shift in the space time continuum causes an immediate change, like Marty’s family photo etc, but that’s the fun of the theory is to see how people interpret the movie. Really there’s no right or wrong, but I enjoy discussing. The fuel theory has been discussed in length online and the leading argument is that Doc would have drained the most of the fluids (including the fuel from the car) so they wouldn’t breakdown and ruin/contaminate the driveline. Makes sense because gas (leaded gas at least) would have been available in 1955 and the stuff that could have theoretically been in the tank wouldn’t have lasted from 1885-1955 anyways. The other is that they didn’t want to disturb the mine shaft Delorean bc if they did and something changed, it could alter the “future” of Doc and Marty getting the car in 1955.
When 2015 old Biff stole the delorean and traveled to 1955, giving his younger self the almanac, wouldnt old Biff have returned to an alternate future time line 2015A, (Rich Biff future) thereby leaving Marty and Doc stranded in the original 2015.
In theory that’s correct. Old Biff should have come back to 2015B where Biff was mayor, but he returned to the 2015A timeline where Doc and Marty were. I know there are write-ups online about the two timelines to explain why it works, such as a paradox or the two lines converging etc. but it’s an interesting entanglement either way.
The Hot Wheels Ecto Premium is at a lot of Wal marts right now so try hitting a few. The delorean doesn’t have a release currently so you have to hit eBay or wait until it comes out again.
Loved your video! But there were 4 deloreans in 1955 the whole time. Because even though the lighting strike didn't occur yet. It still was apart of the vehicle history. In time travel stories you CAN have the effect occur before the cause. So what would of happened if Doc avoided the lighting strike in 1955 in midair? As always in the entire BTTF trilogy. The car would of simply, disappeared out of the mine shaft. Or like Doc and Jennifer like to call it "It would of have erased!". This situation is like the Marty problem in BTTF 1. When he traveled to 1955 in the first place. He exists before his parents became an item. So he didn't have to wait until they had sex to exist. Because he was apart of there future history. He only started to erase once he accidentally. Started to change there future history. But no one changed that future history of Doc being stuck by lightning. Even though Doc was saved in the past by Marty in 1885. Doc still would of buried the car in the mine shaft. So there were 4 all along in that moment in time in 1955. Great video 👍😊, awesome!
Nah I think there are four because when doc gets struck by lightning he puts the DeLorean in the cave in 1985 but when he left it in the old mineshaft it had a pass through time so it was in that mineshaft from 1885 wild the events of the three DeLorean theory were happening but one doctor struck by lightning it sends the drawing in the past so it had to pass through 1955 Canon the original delorean from back to the Future part 1 and Marty's DeLorean behind us State sign or whatever it said so that's why I think for deloreans exist at the same time and because when Marty in 1955 doc go to the library they find a picture of doc and that's why I think they're are for deloreans at the same time frame
That must have some left in the tank.
doc drained the fuel and either disposed it away from hill valley or used it for his experiments in 1885 after failing to repair the delorean
Because the one that Doc arrived in and the one that Marty arrived in are chronologically the same vehicle.

and jennifer might recognise some changes to the timeline due to time traveling to 2015
Said with gusto! I couldn't verbalize it.
A. Original 1985 model
B. 2015 modified flying model
C. 1955 modified retro model
D. 1885 final railroad model
Also, the mineshaft Delorean is 70 years older.
This actually makes a lot of sense I agree with u (because this is how time travel works in these movies) good video man!
The DeLorean in the mineshaft has always been there because Marty and Doc didn't get it until after the events of the first 2 movies happened

That is true, doc does establish that there is a ripple effect when it comes to changing timelines.

The one in the mineshaft didn't have gas or tires. It was unusable during Pt 3.

I believe in the fore
