The best part of James Gunn’s Superman teaser is the juxtaposing Krypto dragging bloodied Superman to safety and the civilian throwing an object at Superman’s head. Set the tone of this world and what monumental task that Superman is undertaking in order to bring hope…and maybe a better tomorrow.

Rob, I particularly hate it when people say, "But the REAL Superman would have found a way to save everyone and not kill Zod." 1) They conveniently ignore Christopher Reeve kills Zod with a smile and a wink to the camera, and Lois Lane kills Ursa. 2) "Superman would have found a way" just means lazy contrived writing that ignores the actuality of what's happening in the movie. But I've long ago found that Snyder haters are a cult, and it's useless to talk to them. If they want to hate on Snyder and his Superman, go right ahead, I'm no gatekeeper. I think WB would be making a huge mistake to set $1 billion as the success mark for Superman. The DCU is trying to rebuild the entire franchise after what happened at the tail end of the DCEU. The movie has to be good, and should at least break even, but most importantly they need the fans to like it. This will get them excited for more. I watched them during covid, 20 years after my first viewing and if you remember the series, you'd understand why that was a hugely emotional experience.
Just a shame there’s so many other superheroes in the film, decreasing it’s accessability for a wider audience. That’s one of the reasonsthat made Reeves superman great, was that it could be enjoyed and understood by comic book reading kids and non comic book reading parents alike.
Im born 1984 ROB superman 1979. Superman 1 and 3 are my favs. Most of what i love is 1978 or so and after. My wife is 1987 she is more....post 1990... although she does love TNG and some 80s stuff
Every adult in the trailer seems jaded and rejects superman, much like our society today many adults losing their wonder and imagination. And every child in the trailer is seen reaching for superman. Superman is representing people who don't try to be edgy or cool but know the wonder of bombastic worlds, imagination, and striving for goodness (for goodness sake). Needless to say i loved this trailer and its brilliant to show krypto immediately because it will make people show who they are and where they come from.

The best Superman moment was when he saves the little girl. The rest of the trailer was meh. Didn’t generate enough excitement to get me into the theater to see it.
There's a lot of great things in the Snyderverse films, and a whole lot of not so good. I am glad we never had to see Dick Grayson being the Robin that was killed, for example. Snyder was great with Wonder Woman, other than in SnyderCut when she randomly throws the guy against the wall and clearly killed him. Snyder needs someone to rain him in. He also did not understand the characters on the whole, even though his casting was fairly good. Although most were on the older side which means they couldn't stay in role too long.
Rob , I did enjoy the trailer , but the music took me out of it a little bit. I’m a sucker for Superman 78 , I wanted to hear John Williams triumphant sounds !
Gunn admitted that when DC offered him Superman, he turned it down, because he couldn’t relate to the character. Now he does…because…dog. If he’s going to lean into the man and his dog trope, they should have at least spent a little more time and money on the CG for Krypto.

Even my 78 year old father is excited to see it. Superman goes beyond just a “superhero” character. He’s a symbol of hope and an example of the best of us. ❤️
The trailer unfortunately made me less interested in the film. I never liked Krypto, but I could've looked past that. Having the JSA pop up? I'm out. I hope it's good and that everyone loves it though.
But, Rob… Superman doesn’t look like he’s having fun in the teaser trailer. Is WB paying influencers to say the movie is going to be “hopeful”, “joyful”, etc? 🤔
I just skipped over the "toxic fandom" spiel - when Hollywood stopped respecting it's audience and source material and wants to do sh*t because it's what they want, like say, in the original Xmen with their decision to change Rogue. Even the Star Trek vs TNG, the "toxic fans" were right, TNG season 1 was horrible and it took "toxic fans" keeping CBS and company feet to the fire so they produce good content or else they would had been flooded with angry letters and petitions. The use of "toxic fans" is the same whistle that Democrats and the government use when they say "misinformation" - it means nothing and often times it's full of shiat.
I was bitterly disappointed. Superman bleeding in the snow. Comedy dogs. A gaggle of characters I dont know. Tv production quality. Garish visuals. Awful guitar music. I think you guys must have watched the Man of Steel trailer by mistake. I'm genuinely baffled people are going nuts for this trailer. Lacks any sense of wonder or awe.
You didn't get emotional when krypto came to Superman's rescue? I got emotional. Man of steel I try to like like but I can't lie to myself after watching 20 times and 6 of in theatre. Snyder's Superman would be awesome in Injustice league. I dislike Superman's trunks, but I can ignore it if the movie is good. The scene of Superman bleeding is a way to say that you can relate to him he is not jesus like Snyder's Superman.
i'm not sure... you could watch a season trailer for Lois and Clark and get exactly the same. im not saying i want the Snyderverse, but when your new tentpole movie looks like the TV show you just cancelled.. somethings not right there...
I don't get this at all. If all your criticism of a movie are its color grading or how it looks like a high budget TV then the movie is excellent. If that's how far you have to dig to make up a criticism then that says more about you than the movie. Now if you meant how the movie's story looks like the show they cancelled then even that's false. Because this is clearly silver age superman with krypto, big monsters and big on sci fi elements. A big difference from Superman and Lois.

ever since campeas rant on trump i just had to stop watching him. didnt realize he had such TDS like mark hamill. so sad to see someone like that.
😂😂😂cry
@@DrBiBeatz no I didn't. Its a dog. I grew up with Donner/Reeve's superman
@@robmlisanti are you five?
It looks shitty.... real shitty... are you a paid shill?
i'm not sure... you could watch a season trailer for Lois and Clark and get exactly the same. im not saying i want the Snyderverse, but when your new tentpole movie looks like the TV show you just cancelled.. somethings not right there...
I absolutely agree with this comment, 100 percent. Well said.
@@KiryuType- Correct.
@@KiryuType- and so goes ….
@@KiryuType- oh sorry i didn't realise this was an echo chamber. Am i not allowed to think this trailer was underwhelming just because you loved it? do i have to go and get a degree in cinematography before i'm allowed to have an opinion, lol ... This trailer looks amazing, i was crying watching it... this is the superman i was born to see... is that less triggering for you??
From the trailer the movie looks dumb, especially with a super dog.
