Neat subject. Good discussion and loved hearing your picks and why. For me today (because this would change by tomorrow 😂): Beatles - Revolver...John - Walls and Bridges...Paul - RAM...George - Cloud 9...Ringo - Choose Love.

John - Imagine - Because I currently don't want to deal with the rawness of something like "Mother." Because I'd rather listen to something like "Gimme Some Truth" and "Jealous Guy," two songs that started during the Beatle era.
Paul - Band On The Run - Because it's always been the one I love the most. If we're talking singles, I'd listen to "Silly Love Songs" and "Let 'Em In" from "Speed of Sound" or "No More Lonely Nights" from the "Give My Regards" album...
George - All Things Must Pass - Because my tastes aren't entirely original
Ringo - Beaucoups of Blues - Because he sounded in his element
Beatles - Abby Road - I think, for years, I would have chosen Revolver or Rubber Soul, but lately, it's hard to beat the near perfection of this record. If only they had the foresight to leave "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" off, it would be perfect.

    1. Revolver
    2. Ram
    3. All Things Must Pass
    4. Mind Games
    5. Verticle Man
I’m working on doing a few covers on ATMP. Ram is always in rotation but I have been visiting Flaming Pie. I am revisiting Mind Games which I do from time to time. I always wish that Mind Games & Walls and Bridges could be mashed together with only my favorites from each. To me Crooked Boy is Linda Perry’s album, Ringo is so out of place by no fault of his…So I went back in his catalog and pulled Vertical Man out to see how it’s held up for me. Great idea for a show!!! Darren!, please place your camera like the others so I’m not always looking up your nose! Just razzing you. WFUV is King. My guess for the Peter Jackson thing will be all of The Beatles liver performances in a big remastered/remix box set. Also agreeing with Back to the Egg, “So Glad to See You Here” shows Macca has still got his powerful voice ala “I’m Down” or “Monkberry”

Revolved is also my Beatles album choice, even though I've never liked Good day sunshine. This album is the sweet spot of them still being a very tight band, and working together on the album as such, while also being highly experimental.

Allan and I had the same pick with Back To The Egg. I love the variety of it. Walls and Bridges has always been my favorite John album and an album that always improves my mood. Cloud Nine is my go to George Harrison because that album also improves my mood and puts me on Cloud Nine pun intended. Choose Love for Ringo because I think that album is Ringo and the RoundHeads at their best. The last three songs are dynamite. Abbey Road Is the Beatles album I enjoy the most because It's a perfect swan song.

One thing I really hope the next volume of the McCartney legacy covers is when Bowie visited McCartney to listen to the Back to the Egg recordings.

Well, we don't go into great detail, but we mention that he listened to it, what he thought the best track was, and which ones he didn't think worked.

Being the McCartney fan that he is I'm surprised Allan chose Back to the Egg. Paul's gift for melody is unmatched. The man breathes melody but BTTE has to be his least melodic album by far. Give me Chaos, Flowers, Tug of War, Red Rose Speedway, Egypt Station, Ram, Venus and Mars, etc. etc. etc.

I guess sometimes I want to hear him stretch in directions other than toward the grand melody. He always goes back to it, but I get a charge out seeing him explore other avenues.I admit, it doesn’t always work out, and I guess we disagree on whether BTTE does.

No real solo Paul here, it’s gotta be Paul with Wings or collaborating with others. No appreciation or respect for solo Paul! Unbelievable, more often about the other guys when it comes to Paul’s music. A wonderful discussion nonetheless & just an observation.
