I never really gave the RS6 a second look but after seeing this particular setup, I gotta say I'm in love. Perfect car, perfect views, damn good roads and that exhaust note is out of this world. The cinematography is flawless too. Luke, you're a genius man! Absolutely amazing!
Just a short test drive with this RS6 but so impressed with it. I only had one more negative to say and that is the steering is just to light and easy (for me). Otherwise a truly incredible machine that's capable of so much and just a little faster than my A1..
Luke, do you know why it struggles to change gear and bounces off of the rev-limiter in some of the acceleration shots? Is the gearbox struggling with the torque, or is it because of bad traction?
Well I wanted to take it to the max as in my last videos everyone asked me to push it more but I didn't realise this car had a rev limiter on. It came in to early before the red line so I always ended up hitting it. I guess they put the limiter on as it's a test car and didn't want people thrashing it too much.
You control the sound with what setting you put the car into. Comfort / Auto / Dynamic / Individual.
Comfort closes the valves. Dynamic has everything on bonkers mode. Individual allows you to choose what you want and Auto just changes everything to suit your current driving style.

Michael Herron no those driving settings only change the sound in the cockpit... not outside, had the same on my TT
Seriously one of the best setup ever. Matte Florett silver paintjob, matte Titan trim package, matte finish Titan wheels, black emblems...wouldn't change a thing if I ever got one.
Paint wasn't for me I have to say but good to see it was someones dream spec

That exhaust crackling would drive you crazy on a 3500+ mile, continent-crossing trip.
....no doubt this is a monster but sadly, I chose the S4 B8.5 Avant as we regularly do 3000+ miles trips from the UK around Europe ...and these beasts like to drink...and at European fuels cost ...the S4 wins...same for the RS4...but if money was no object...the RS6 all day long.
if that crackling could not be muted i would not buy that car thats for sure!!
Sounds like the car has bad rattling cats or “popping popcorn”
If you drive in comfort mode it doesn't pop like this

Just drove a stock 2016 Audi S6 today with 450bhp. That already was amazing! I absolutely love this car! The engine is just soo powerful!

Such a stunning video man. Absolutely incredible. The quality and the angles you use from inside the cabin are super unique to your style & I love it. You honestly do the best cabin views, perfectly angled to capture the landscape from inside the car.
I'd love to know, what equipment are you using. A7S II and a stabilizer?

Where did you get that from? do people just always assume the cars are cold in videos these days to have something to complain about? you can even see the water temperature in the video! why on earth would I rev a car like mad when it's cold, that wouldn't make any sense.

One of my favorite cars to not make it to the US currently. although, that price tag is ridiculous. Being a secret wagon lover, I would kill for this car, but if it was in my market, I would wait 6-7 years to own one when the resale value drops back into the 5 digit range. beautiful video though Luke! keep it up!

That's where a test drive must take place ;) Beautiful roads and panorama ! A comment about the gearbox: I've tested a new RS3, which I think as the same one, and it was not so good. As you in the video, the gearbox doesn't change good between 1st and second gear (and even when I helped it ) That really is a bad thing in the Audi RS's

Sweet! If one were rich but could only have one car it'd be one of these hands down, but do try to change up before it smashes in the rev limiter
It's funny for me because on my last videos I get endless comments saying to push it to the rev limiter and then I do it and get comments saying don't, got to love the internet. Also this was restricted before it hits the rev limiter which you can actually see, I wouldn't do it if it went into the red.

Do you think that exhaust would get on your nerves after a while? I had a simple Lara one on a Porsche and I had to change it back to a standard one after a while
On this car I don't think so because you can drive with the flaps closed and then it's not loud at all

It's an ABT tuning
pilotenteddy but better for car always to do custom remap, mtm and abt is just and piggyback

hmmm... you did hit the rev limiter a little too much for me - it's a shame because it's sooooo much faster if you get the right gear. Maybe try sport mode and automatic for a while? You'll be a lot faster and enjoy the car more.
u r 100% right about cheepness and I don't like that they don't have leather in front dash .. benz and bmw has ..and options in audi is much expensive then they has..sorry for my bad english

It wasn't on the actual limiter, they had put a limit on the revs that always cut in early, really annoying but was still fun of course.

It's limited before the red line so does nothing wrong. Also when I don't take it higher people complain that I don't push it enough and when I do take it higher people complain I take it too high so cant really win on the internet.
Lol you must be the only person in the world to complain about someone who actually pushes the car a bit and makes a nice sound for all of us to hear and you can also see it doesn't even hit the red line.

I'm totally relaxed don't worry :-) only answering your question. It's just hard you know, every video I make some people either tell me I go to hard or not hard enough so I thought it's time to respond to a few comments and try and figure out what people really want to see. I would never constantly take a car into the red though as I have respect for them but like I said this RS6 had a limiter before the red line and it makes a cool sound ;-) saying that though these modern engines could take any beating no problem and will go on for hundreds of thousands of miles. Happy you liked it anyway!

Why does the RS6 not have the 'virtual cockpit' option? Something it also should have especially when it's super car money....

This is still the old platform. The virtual cockpit is only available on the newest platform cars, such as the new Q7, A3, A4, A5 and Q2. This RS6 has the top spec screen. The virtual cockpit is just not available for this platform, which still hasn't got its upgrade.

Thanks and it was because they put a limiter on the car, so what you're hearing isn't the red line I just always forgot about the limiter as it came in so early which was annoying...
