Love your videos and conversions. Thank you for posting them. I've been looking at these trommels in several places and it's impossible to find many details on them. Can you please tell me what size material it sorts? What size are the holes in the screens?
I'll try my best to do that, unfortunately I have it all packed up for the winter months. It sorts 3 sizes though. First is like fine powder and dust, second is very small pebbles and everything else comes out the end. If I get time, I'll try to get you the 2-hole sizes but that is a big IF.
@@dennybobsrcconstructionagc2796 Thank you for the reply. Please don't worry about it or go to any trouble to find out, it's not that critical. I just thought I'd ask on the off-chance you just knew what they were from memory. I'm in the process of building a trommel to tinker with and make sure I'm going to enjoy using it before I drop the $$ on one of these. I was just looking for a starting point on the screen but I've got some ideas. Thanks again!
I think this is a cool design. What would improve it would be if the hopper itself was a sifter. I mean, you have a 'prescreen' at the top to get rid of big stuff. Would be nice if it could fall the other way than the hopper. Then right under that there should be a super fine screen to allow dust/powder to fall thorugh, and the rest of the material that doesn't go through gets dumped into the trommel.
Thanks for the suggestions. The first section of the trommel drum handles the very fine stuff. What comes out of that section is like powder, the second section small 1/8" to 1/4" and anything larger it sent out the end. I no longer have the grizzly bars on the hopper, I feed it with a conveyor now. I have several videos of the operation here on my RUclips channel. 😉
They vary in price, by the time I got this one from Vietnam to my door about 1500.00usd. I Bought it through a second party when I should have gone direct. That would have saved me 400-500usd.

Also, I was just testing it 3 years ago with some sand mix I had in the shop. I actually send real dirt and rocks through it now on site. 😉
