Great vid man! I especially like how you handled the accent :) I was thinking of making a video on this, but there's really nothing I would add to what you've already said. Keep at it!
Great video man. I've beening useing the "macro's" page on my DN for a while. I like using the aftertouch page because It's just easier for me to get to.
so cool, thanks for sharing! funnily I´m in the very same process at the moment trying to get that 303 sound out of my digitone. did things a little differently but am also very happy with the results :)
A good way to make a square wave is with a 2 op stack, with the modulator at 2 and the carrier at 1, and add a little bit of modulation and a little bit of feedback. You can make a saw wave the same way with a 1:1 ratio, and it helps to look at it on a scope
The chirpiness and slide are one of those characteristic elements of the 303 thats so specific and special that I wish I had been able to recreate to my satisfaction fully. It’s definitely a square peg in a round hole situation, I did my best to fit in what I could lol. I think it’s possible, but it might involve a different approach. Thanks for watching!
13:12 : Hi ! Really cool soundesign ^^ I would definitely use such a sound. in your video your TD3 has an unexpected behavior (something I can't do with most of my clone) on one of the last slide (I think it's like between step 10 and 12 maybe ?), and I would really like to know why it does this. Basically it's like a super short slide, it's not supposed to do that (but it's cool). The RE303 of one of my friend does this in midi if you overlap the 2 notes very slightly, but it does a normal slide if you overlap them more. You drive it with external midi right ? Could you investigate or screenshot me the midi file ? Thank you so much acid friend 🙂 !
Hey! Thanks for the kind words! The Digitone was sending midi Data to the Td-3. I checked the exact timing of it and the 10th and 11th note are both longer than a 1/16 note to trigger a slide going into the 12th. Note Lengths (1 = 1/16): 10 ) 1.13 11 ) 1.25 12 ) .750 Also, the 11th note has velocity at 127 to trigger an accent. I hope that helps, maybe you can recreate it on your end. Best of luck Acid Friend!
Doope! Ty for some reason my velocity mod keeps reseting even when nothing is locked and i cant modulate it like you did in the middle jam, what am i missing?
In the middle jam I used the Modulation Wheel page to modulate the parameters. If you use that, it shouldn’t reset. Also, I should have made it clear in the video, you need to copy the modulation wheel page over to each new pattern. By holding Function-Rec it will allow you to copy that screen and paste it on the next patterns “Mod Wheel” page. I hope that’s helpful, if you’ve still got questions or if I’ve misunderstood your issue let me know!
It doesn't matter it sounds different it has a nice unique quality
Great tutorial, thank you for sharing your well thought out process
Using the mod wheel setup as a macro control is brilliant. Excellent excellent video.
Thanks for watching! The Mod wheel opens up so many doors, way beyond just an acid patch like this!
yeah something very basic but often forgotten while using digitone :) nice video and detail to the sound

Thanks dude!
it sounds super round.. the energy of the low end is awesome

Appreciate you watching 🙏
I would to love hear your about your approach some time!
Such a good video! Love my Digitone! Got me inspired to use some of the features I have been neglecting, even after all these years with it!
Sweet! Thanks! That makes me happy to hear!
Good stuff!!! I've been using my Digitone for 3 years and did not know about many of those features in the Settings menu menus. Thanks!
Glad you dug it! The Digitone is a beast!

Thanks for the recommendation!
pretty damn close wow, but couldn't quite nail down that chirpy slide effect oh well thanks for this

Sick! Thanks!
Miss my Digitone ❤
She’s a special lady
More like this! great video!
Thanks! More are on the way!
Great video keep it up, like to connect with you!!!
thanks!
I bet that would sound great (it already sounds great, but different kind of great) if it were fed through an overdrive/distortian guitar pedal
Hard not to agree with you on that!
