Absolutely beautiful machine. My Mum had one of these and I fell in love right away. The car is so luxurious, the power is insane. Definitely my favourite SUV on the market. Yeah sure it's a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Props to you BMW for creating this masterpiece!👍🏼

Great review. I have a 2018 X5M myself and he does a great job highlighting all of the key features. One quick point: in my 2018, the screen does have touch functionality. I love this car and even though it destroys tires and goes through tons of gas, it's all worth it. I do disagree with his points about hard seats and stiff suspension. Yes, it's tight but it really adds to the sporty feeling of the vehicle. Want a floating sofa? Then buy a Lexus LX570 (which I traded in for my X5M)
I know it’s an old comment, but for someone in the future, the touchscreen was added in 2017 with the CarPlay compatible iDrive update. Prior to that you had to navigate using only the iDrive joystick.
Came here to say this as well, I know this is a 4 year old comment but my X6M has tight suspension BECAUSE it's a true M car. It's meant to have tight suspension to take corners like a normal sports car.

Me and my dad drove this and an old Range Rover Vogue Autobiography with a luxury Overfinch conversion, he found a specced out model of this for £51,000 with 300 miles on the clock. he bought it, selling his 340i.
Sure there's no reason for the X5 M, it's one of those vehicles that you buy just because you can! How much fun would it be to stoplight grand prix cayenne turbos and range rover svr's haha?

This car is perfect for someone who understands specs... If you want practical and only practical then don't comment.... If you want fun then comment.... If yippy want hp then comment... If yippy want to take a there kids, a dog and other stuff with you and still have fun driving then you'd love this car. I can haul ass in the snow, rain and warm weather and I only have the 50i these are a blast. ML550 is broken of you compare it to the X5 50i
If you would order this car fully loaded, with every possible box ticked like when this car was showed in Geneva motor show 2015 it would cost you about 190.000$.

What BMW needs to do is to get rid of or at least have an option on the split tailgate. Not many dogs like to jump onto the tailgate plus that plastic surface is slippery. That is the only thing that holds me up from an X5. LOL. Frankly, if you don't have tall dogs, you might as well go for an Audi RS6 Avant.
shiiit so cheap in USA for 109K full loaded almost o_O here in EUROPE with these option gone cost you about 140K or 150K !! BTW you cooley are the best when you do review of cars :D
There are just too many assists anymore. Damn shame that the bad drivers basically made this. Not saying the assists are bad but any good enough driver shouldn't need them.
Just Joshing I don't mind them being there, just allow me to turn them off! I hate that some companies won't let you turn some aids (like traction control) fully off.

Can't believe that the non-M X5's have similar front bumper scoops .. but they're filled with plastic. I'd be p*ssed if I paid $75k for a new SUV that took the same approach to aerodynamic styling as the local Pep Boys.

Dev Padda lol just like Cooley said at the end of the video, it is not for everyone with this vehicle. Let the man choose RX 350 if he desires. I honesty wouldn't be buying this car too. I would use the money, buy the M3 and a Mazda CX-5. Don't get me wrong, this car is masculine and I do like it, but this "concept" didn't convince me to buy it at this price
rpaul247 Chairman Wang well ya depends on what you want out of a car. I test cars so acceleration alone can't give me much pleasure. Get's boring very quickly if the car isn't engaging and emotional.
ewt415 Yea, the only Range Rover to get close in HP and speed is the Supercharged one which is like $150k+ I think BUT it is way more luxurious and full of tech plus rides better for a daily compared to this one (according to the reviewer). It has like 10HP less and I think .5 secs slower in the 0-60mph plus 13 mpg in city compared to the X5M which has 14 but if you have $100k+ for this SUV then you will have at least $150k+ for the rover.
ewt415 Actually I just checked the prices, the supercharged Range Rover starts at $106k and the autobiography which has 99% of extras checked cost $130-$140k so for that I would buy the Autobiography better or just the supercharged one. I also checked the HP and it has 510 (I thought it had 550hp but that was the SVR RR sport) and it goes in 5.1s to 60 compared to the BMW 4.0s to 60
Terribly boring review. I can read this in the manual or have a salesman regurgitate it to me. Get to how it drives. Compare it to other cars. Just don't waste my time.
Stupid car, usually driven by stupid people. Get a proper family SUV if you really want one. Same story if you want a sports car. Sports SUV? What the bloody hell is that? If the Germans want to be both, they can be neither.
Why? It's slower, has lower quality components, and doesn't have as good handling. It is a lot cheaper tho and is something I would be able to afford later on in life.
