I think they'd have happily picked up a pellet, it would have looked like a freebie that had sunk to the bottom. The mussel wasn't taken because it was different from the loose feed and because it was wafting about. I'm sure a heavy pellet just sat still on the bottom would have resulted in a fish very quickly.
You’re doing it all wrong. That tiny strange bait is the problem. Big Chub, huge baits, a ball of bread 40-60mm in diameter, Golfball size. Hovis thick white is ideal, not brown. You only strike, when the rod swings round, indicating it has chewed the bread and exposed the hook. 1 minute is the normal take time.

For a fish that eats nearly everything they sure can be fussy buggers! I bet a big worm would be have been snatched straight away :)
Do you think float fishing outfishes ledger on rivers?
Brilliant content as always mate, cheers
It can but everything depends on the situation. Sometimes lure will be the best option..
Makes you wonder if it was partly the mainline coming up off the river bed that put them on edge? Maybe a back lead could of helped?
No no, the rig iself wasn't a problem as they were swiming above it all day long.. They weren't taking the hookbait because it wasn't moving.
Great footage! Love underwater vids to see fish behaviour 👍
Thanks 👍

Great video Andrew!
Glad you enjoyed it! Next time I will catch one.
What camera did you use for this, and was you able to view the footage live as you where fishing?
Sony, yes, it was live.
How would you target a big open lake for perch mate that's between 30-50 acres?
Would look for features.
@@AndrewsKnots i mean tactics
Maybe trotting a pellet would have worked
Yes, any moving bait..
Epic
Your bait may be not tasty enough :)
It's more about presentation.

Yes, it is secure. RUclips is part of Google and in general they are very good at keeping people's details safe.
Thanks
