    One thing that had me thinking is about the 4mm pellets. As soon as they were in the water, the Dace and Roach took them away, or ate them. There wasn't much free bait around your hookbait as a result.
    So, when targeting Barbel and Chub, I need to use much larger baits such as Boilie and 8-10mm pellets to stand a chance of any being there to draw the Barbel in and stay there.

      Correct. Some places can have less small fish hence small baits can work ok.

    Do you feel that technology has distracted from the overall level of watercraft? Not bothering to have a cast until you see a worthy target?
    Personally I'd rather not know what's down there - it spoils the magic and mystery...
