Wow, thank you for listening and enjoying our music! As a fan of yours, it means a lot :)
Best wishes from us in VOLA! Aloha!
Love you guys!
Can't wait to see you guys live one day!
Real recognize real. Keep up the great work guys :)
So awesome to see you here. Love you guys and all that you do!
I am a new fan. Amazing!
Alryyyt! (Decomposer voice)
Vola is great. This whole album was fantastic.
*all of their albums are fantastic
:)
Solid pick. Their song 24 Light-Years is beautiful so check it out everyone.
Ruby Pool as well
I LOVE Inmazes more than most other things in life, but 24 Light Years and Ruby Pool are definitely up there for my favorite VOLA tracks. I honestly think 24 Light Years is top 3 for me.
@@hydraglide69 Vertigo aswell
Inside your fur! Still! Napalm! There’s so many fantastic songs. There entire discography is fantastic!
That breakdown riff is pure genius.
VOLA always sounded to me like Depeche Mode meets Djent and I find it amazing
I thought i was one of few who thinks that singer's voice and and style reminds to depeche mode.
They remind me of The Killers and I'm sure they have Depeche Mode inspiration a little bit
DjEntPeche Mode !
I don't know if you know Sybreed, but they are even more like that. Check them out if you're into this kind of stuff. :)
dude your so right haha
Also it should be mentioned that the vocalist plays those riffs and sings at the same time... insane
the key change from prechorus to chorus is just amazing
YESSSSS. I've been recommending VOLA for months. They were on my "Top 5 of the Decade" on Spotify last year. I absolutely LOVE them. I'm surprised someone didn't send you 24 Light Years off the same album, as it has really pretty keys. Head Mounted Sideways and Napalm are my two favorites from this album, though all their work is great. Other top picks from me would be Alien Shivers and Inmazes.
Me too! But poor Geebz, probably has a list that covers more papers than the Bible at this point of the gig!
I'd love to see Geebz do a reaction to *"These Black Claws."* I think there's a lot of juicy production and engineering bits to dig into on that one.
Alien Shivers is an absolute favorite of mine.
I agree, 24 Light Years would be perfect for him to hear
@@mistersmeagol259 the vocal interplay is incredible on that track.
Wow, that's a hidden gem! Progressive yet hooky and melodic - just as I like it
Really recommend trying Agent Fresco! Maybe 'Bemoan' by them
Yes, Bemoan is such an unique song, love the piano so much
@@MJ-vd8bj Me too! It's hard to know which is best to recommend to a first-time listener but Bemoan is one that I come back to often
All four members started on drums, and you can really hear it!
They’re all masters of rhythm! They play some complicated stuff but make it palatable for those who aren’t musicians or used to this style of music.
@@ckokomo808 they're a good gateway band for djent, definitely
@@ckokomo808 i mean they keep a steady quarter beat on the cymbals
This song totally sold me on Vola on first hearing, to the point of going out and buying their whole discography (they are on Bandcamp). Songs I'd recommend:
- Alien Shivers
- Ruby Pool
- Head Mounted Sideways
Im right behind you going to Bandcamp to get them all
Let's goooo! Vola is a super underrated band! This album is a great highlight of 2021 for prog metal and music in general. These black claws, bird, 24 light years, head mounted sideways and stone leader falling down are all from this album and are all worth checking out!
Stone Leader Falling Down is a great song by them! And Napalm!
Love this band. I could listen to applause of a distant crowd all day long
Between the massive sound and the warm melodies, listening to VOLA is like being wrapped in a blanket. I love it.
Very cool sound, never heard of these guys before but I'm a fan already
Enjoy your journey through that discography
Everything they've released is solid, worth going straight through the discography.
One of the most underrated bands out there at the minute, absolutely fantastic
In my humble opinion this was the best alternative metal album of 2021!!! I enjoy it top to bottom. Their rhythm work alone is fantastic. Bass and bass drum go hand in hand, often together with a djent-y guitar, but they do so in a way that is ear-friendly, groovy, catchy… so many polyrhythms 😬🤣😬🤣
"Imma be doing Straight Lines."
Can't wait to see your subscriber count skyrocket.
😄😂
Killer band! You should react to "Smartfriend". Great song
That song hits harder than an angry grandmother with a flip flop.
Smartfriend yes! Great video too
@@drphdmd7064 word 🙌
Yes! Finally Vola!
Edit* check out Alien Shivers from their album Applause of a distant crowd! Or anything on that record, its a masterpiece
Big agree, that song actually got me into the band!
That's a very lush ambient sound with a great melody. Another band instantly added to the playlist, thanks Geebz.
Maybe my favourite band of the past decade or so now. Always killer music.
VOLA is amazing. Love that they commented on this directly too! They had a great live performance this weekend available digitally (tickets are still available for a short time to watch the recording)
My favourite Danish band right now. These guys are going big, and im seeing them again next friday, can't wait! Thanks for doing Vola
Never heard of this band before. LOVED IT. Sounds so unique. Going to rock this tonight for sure!
Their songs "Stray The Skies" and "Smartfriend" are great too! If you're looking for more, of course
Finaly! Good song to disect, but you should cover Alien Shivers. They're one of the greatest bands currently out there! Awwright!
VOLA is an amazing band. Top 10 of all time for me!! Complex timing, beautiful harmonies and wicked transitions! Its a aural math equation!
My comment linking to VOLA's upcoming live stream was deleted. If you liked this song, check out their "Live From the Pool" stream that is airing for a couple of weeks starting tomorrow September 11th.
Also, in regards to the production, the vocalist/guitarist Asger Mygind does the production for all of their stuff.
Forgot to buy my ticket…thanks for the reminder!
Honest to God VOLA have one of the most incredible and full-bodied sounds in modern metal. Their infusion of what, eurodance? Fuck. Absolutely electric. They only get better and more emotionally gripping with time. Its hard to believe sounds so massive are only coming out of four people.
Live from the Pool tomorrow, y'all. Support these wonderful gents.
Vola - These Black Claws
Killer riffs!
Is that the one with the rapping? Dear God no...
Uneven Structure are another group who do the ambient/metal vibe very well. Frost Hail if you're looking for suggestions; the accompanying video is a work of art in its own right!
Seconded! Uneven Structure is brilliant! Frost/Hail is absolutely inspired.
I am absolutely 100% with you on your feelings about the ambient tones and sounds going on in VOLA's overall sound; and yeah you put it right calling it Ethereal Rock, I personally call it Space Prog myself.
Yessssss. VOLA is amazeballs. Too underrated!!
My absolute favorite band recently. The Inmazes album is a masterpiece!
I owened this AMAZING album in pandemic! They become one of my new favorite band nowadays!! Beautiful music! Thank you!
I love my Vola sweatshirt. One of the best bands today.
Vola has a live thing happening tomorrow, check it out!
Forgot to buy my ticket…thanks for the reminder ✌🏽
I was tickled to death watching your reactions to VOLA! They are great. Subbed 👍
You should totally do VOLA - Inmazes (the song)
Great reaction/analysis! This is a great band. Their song 24 light years has a very interesting drum pattern. Hope someday you could react to that song.
Love VOLA! I'd suggest A Stare Without Eyes, Inmazes, and 24 Light Years!
You just listed what are probably my three favorite VOLA songs! A Stare Without Eyes doesn't get enough love.
I just recently discovered this band and have been wholly obsessed with this album for like three weeks.
VOLA is such a great listen, and their entire discography is killer! My favorite is probably the INMAZES album and the "Owls" track because of the Pink Floyd vibes it gives off.
Applause of a Distant Crowd always gives me Floyd vibes too(Meddle Era Floyd, specifically). Owls is such a good song though. Actually never heard a bad VOLA song.
Vola to me is like if you mash dredg together with meshuggah. Fantastic band.
Wow, I totally hear that now. Everyone is always saying Depeche Mode, but dredg makes way more sense. El Cielo is a masterpiece. I'd love to hear him react to Triangle or Scissor Lock, or even something from The Pariah..
@@immaculatetoilet I've been asking him!
I love VOLA so much. This band is amazing ! I suggest : VOLA - Your Mind Is A Helpless Dreamer (live session in Copenhagen). Peace !
Album of the year right here. What a band
I see in the description that it is the first time you decompose VOLA, may I suggest you do Stray the Skies? Such a great song
That's the song that made me an instant fan.
I was literally listening to this album on my way back to my dorm before I saw this!!!
Also, anything from Applause of a Distant Crowd is fantastic! Whaler, Smartfriend, Ghosts... VOLA is one of my recent favorites for sure
I bought one of their LP's right before I saw this
Ive become absolutely OBSESSED with this band
Yes they have keys and one of the best drummers around.
One of my favorite recent discoveries. Melodically, rhythmically, lyrically… amazing.
I've been addicted to VOLA for a long time now! 24 Light-Years has been like crack to me lately.
Definitely need more VOLA reactions and breakdowns. "Smartfriend" "Alien Shivers" "Stray the Skies" "A Stare Without Eyes" "Black Box" "Head Mounted Sideways" and "Stone Leader Falling Down" are all amazing along with the rest of their work!
Yeahhh!!! Asked for VOLA at least a couple of times. It's awesome 💪
This band is one of my favs. Every song they have is incredible.
Finally some modern metal with clean vocals.
Don’t know them a ton but my favorite by them is In-mazes.
YAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSS YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT THE WHOLE WITNESS ALBUM!! 🥰🥲🥰
Geebz - You will fall into BIG LOVE with the band ' Voices from the Fuselage ' if you do love that ethereal undertones and angelic voice like you said.
I Love VOLA, can't wait to see them live next year!
VOLA has been one of my top 3 listened to artists every year since 2016. Inmazes is phenomenal. I have the album art everywhere lol. I actually had thought that you had reacted to Inmazes (the track) in the past, but that must have been another channel. Looking forward to seeing you do more of these guys in the future!
This album is so addicting. Love it!
Haven´t been hyped on any band as much as VOLA for ages. Absolutely awesome band and can't wait to see them live. I already have tickets for next spring :-)
If anyone is wondering (i hope nobody has mentioned this) a "vola" is the very center of the palm of your hand, or the sole of your foot. These are also known as "volar surfaces".
YESS VOLA is such an underappreciated and just fantastic and unique band. So happy to see you give them love. I'd recommend either Starburn, Alien Shivers or These Black Claws next. Each phenomenal tracks, totally different from each other yet all sound like no one but VOLA.
YAAAAASSS Thank you Geebz!!! Legend
Please do a song off Inmazes!
One of the best prog albums of all time if you ask me.
Inmazes and Witness are both top 5 all time prog albums for me
Applause of a distant crowd is their best imo!
Which song would you want him to do? I'd wanna see the title track personally
Owls
Vola hits you in the stomach as well as the feels. Keep on listening!
VOLA is an absolutely stellar band that I still believe don't get the attention they deserve. If you do come back to them, I'll recommend Stray the Skies off of Inmazes, but Starburn and Inmazes (the titular track) are also fantastic. Ghosts, Alien Shivers and Applause of a Distant Crowd (titular track) would be my suggestions from their second album, Applause of a Distant Crowd.
On another note, I've been watching your stuff since December of '20, and it's totally changed the way I listen to music and I just wanted to say thank you for that. Keep up the great work!
Amazing band. From this record I recommend Head Mounted Sideways as another great trip with multiple directions.
VOLA (Pronounced with a long o) is a great band, their music feels like a clock to me. Every second needs to be perfect, kinda like Meshuggah.
I love their albums.
Speaking about Meshuggah, check out their one track EP i. (21 minutes of perfect chaos)
...or (and) THE FIVE HUNDRED - Walls of Jericho.
I thought you were doing black metal today Geebz?
🤘
please react to Cloudkicker - what they do is not art or Sandö. Thank you)
HEAD MOUNTED SIDEWAYS PLEASE! Trust me when I say you’d love it (and the music video) . They do some craaaaaaaazy play with time. I think you could easily do a few videos on these dudes. The one mentioned above, 24 light years (beautiful), Inside your Fur, Alien Shivers…. They’re truly unbelievable.
My favourite song of vola, heck yes
I wish I had never heard this band and all their material months ago so I could rediscover them again lol. Such an incredible band.
Check out Owls
They do in fact have synths! I got into them because of that clanky Warwick BASS TONE. Also their guitarist plays insanely complex rythms while singing lead vocals. Just awesome!
My top picks from vola are
Vola - Witness
Head mounted sideways
24 light years
Black claws
Vola - Inmazes
Star burn
For stoner bands I would recommend:
Electric Wizard - Funeralopolis
Monolord - Empress Rising
Stoned Jesus - I'm The Mountain
Wo Fat - Phantasmagoria
Cities of Mars - Cyclopean Ritual
Wow thanks for showing me this! Fuckin great sound
I haven’t listened to this album, but through n through I loved the last one.
For stoner rock. More Kyuss is definitely a good idea. Definitely Clutch. More Elder would be cool. The Sword, Pepper Keenan era Corrosion of Conformity, Spirit Adrift, Sleep, Bongripper, Red Fang, God with stoner rock and metal you’re speaking right to my heart.
This band has the phatest guitar sound for a non-extreme metal band. This band has expanded and grown with each outting, their first EP has next to no gjent and continued to layer with each release. 100% gold from start to finish.
YAAAAAASSSSSSSS LOVE VOLA
Have you heard the Deftones "Ohms" yet? That song is something else. The bass lines are perfect.
STONER rock suggestions:
1. Witchrider-Wind up
2. Kryptograf-New Colossus
3. Big Scenic Nowhere- Hidden Wall
4. Witchrider- Black
5. Yellow Devil Sause- Zulu
6. Puta Volcano- Bird
7. Villagers of Ioannina City- Zvara
8. Nightstalker- The dog that no-one wanted
9. Big Business- The Moor you know
10. The Last Drive- Always the Sun
11. Movovine- Odd
12. 1000mods- Electric Carve
13. 1000mods- Vintage
14. Dinosaur Jr- I walk for miles
15. Graveyard- Uncomfortably numb
16. Colour Haze- Aquamaria
17. King Buffalo- Hebetation
18. Villagers of Ioannina City- Nova
19. Naxatras- Waves
20. Nightstalker- Children of the Sun
Two notes please, first the songs above are in the wider area of stoner/ hard scene. Lastly I haven't included obvious band choices. Thanks🖖
Awesome, hope you do some more VOLA! Great band, and this latest album is one of the best of the year.
And their previous album was the best of that year. :)
Love this album, ran to the record store the day it came out to get it. Would love to hear 24 light-years of this album, I think you'll love it!
Album of the year for me personally.
Wonderful track and Album
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
great choice! VOLA is great
If I was to write a list of all the great Vola songs you should check out I'd just be writing the names of every song they've ever released. They're literally all great and there's such a diverse mix too.
Wow, this caught me. I didn't know VOLA. But they sound very familiar to me. Maybe it's because of the radio stations that brought a lot of Coldplay. Maybe it's because of several RUclipsrs discussing Animals As Leader. Maybe it's because of my personal musical heros, OMD. It's a great song. Thank you for going through this.
FINALY GEEBZ FINDS VOLA!!!!!! Next do the song "Controllable"
Welcome to the wonderful world of Vola music. Their discography will give you hope for the future of music and bring hours of powerful and melodic listening pleasure.
They walk the balance between musicianship and mass appeal quite brilliantly.
Geebz! I know in this video you said you'd like to check more Vola and I believe their song "Inmazes" would really show their growth (as it's the album closer on their first record), their Meshuggah influences and mostly just their brilliant progressive songwriting
Vola is one of my favorite bands of all time. One of the most original prog metal bands out there. I would love to see your reaction to “These Black Claws” by them!
This is one of those random songs that found it’s way onto my playlist and will never leave. So good!
Priestess! Super underrated Canadian stoner band. Lay down, run home, talk to her, i am the night colour me black. Enjoy and you're welcome!
30 day anniversary countdown suggestion! Definitely recommend you check out Feed the Creatures or Applause of a Distant Crowd!
