VOLA are some of the nicest people ever. I seen them in Toronto last year and it was the BEST concert I've ever been to. I recently went through an apartment fire where I lost everything, including my vast collection of VOLA merch. They heard about it, reached out and sent me a care package including shirts, albums, patches, picks, and a handwritten postcard. During one of the lowest moments of my life, that put a gigantic smile on my face amd I soo desperately needed that. They simply are the best. I'm soo excited for new music :)
I don't know about others, but VOLA music definitely feels like getting a hug. A firm, confident, warm and comforting Scandinavian hug that smells like cinnamon buns and apple pastries that is there for you on a cold, wet, short winter day. I could go on, but I think I've made my weird point. Long live VOLA.
Not many key players out there these days. Bands will just use midi programming and a daw to program the synths, samples, keys etc. To handle the same task. Vola could easily be a 3 piece band if the wanted but they rather give the true meaning of musician workmanship to their dude that kills it being their keys player. Not bashing bands that do the alternative because sometimes it's just cheaper and easier to go that route, but it shows Volas gracious character as band. They were definitely a treat seeing them in Dallas!
@@TruzFest fun fact, I was hoping for leprous on the Graspop line up this year. No luck. So I went through the line up in search for similar bands and Vola came up. I checked them out before the gig and was blown away. And their performance on Graspop was absolutely fantastic. This November Eindhoven gig, check!
i found this band bc craig reynolds posted a reaction video to adam playing 24 light years. there have been some losses in my life that i never wanted to get over. "i could leave this house, but i won't. there's an echo that seems to live on." hearing that line definitely felt like a hug i had waited years to get. VOLA forever
YAAAAASSSSS! I came across Vola in 2021 and they’ve been a personal favorite ever since. Asger is a role model- singing and ripping those riffs simultaneously is madness. Couldn’t have clicked this any faster!!
I was going through a very tumultuous time in my life. I separated from my partner I lived with for nearly 8 years. I drove a lot for my job, building lifts and elevators throughout vermont. One day on the road I found Vola. Applause of a distant crowd resonated with me in a profound way. That song to this day brings me back to a state of mind I wish to sustain. Joyous and indifferent to the bullshit.
VOLA has gotta be the one band that I can listen to on repeat and never get tired of, especially 24 light years. That track in particular is just my song.
I found VOLA when they released Homesick Machinery way back, been listening to them ever since. One of if not my favorite prog band of all time. I got to see them at Prog Power in Atlanta in 2023, was a fantastic performance and an unforgettable experience for me. Love those guys, can't wait to see them live again!
VOLA is an excellent example of why peace and harmony among the band members is so crucial and how it can improve the quality of the music. I love this band and wish them nothing but the best.
I remember first listening to VOLAs first EP and being so confused, intrigued and impressed. Was just something I wanted to immediately hear more of and learn more about. That live video where they stood in their original formation in a circle I must have watched a thousand times. Really cool to see this evolution so many years later with their new formation standing again in a circle on my favorite live music radio/channel. I feel like a young lad again, thank you VOLA and Audiotree for that.
I LOVE seeing VOLA receiving the attention they deserve! 🖤 They've been on my musical radar since 2018 with the release of Applause of a Distant Crowd. Then Witness came out, and has been one of my all time favorite albums. I can't wait to hear what they do next!
I was lucky enough to see VOLA a few years ago for their first ever North American show in the basement of the Middle East Club in Boston (Cambridge). What they were able to deliver was everything we were ready for and more. Incredible experience, incredible sound, incredible vibes in the crowd. VOLA were truly humble and appreciative of the crowd for their first NA experience and it showed throughout the night. Hard to describe the atmospheric and happy feelings experienced at a metal show but we went home with smiles on our faces for days. Just wish this session had Stray the Skies as that song has got to be my favorite/sounds absolutely amazing live. Lovely people, lovely music, more people need to experience it.
VOLA’s music is like getting a big bear hug! A hug that’s strong and real and so fiercely present. Perfectly designed and prepared for any moment in life. Masterpiece after masterpiece. Cheers VOLA!
I first heard these guys 2 years ago, and while I liked the couple of songs I heard, I didn't check out more music until recently. I absolutely love what they're doing. They have their own sound in an ocean of other bands that all sound very similar to me.
i found this band mid covid, not being able to go or do much of anything, and this band was definitely the hug that i needed. They mean the world to me. last year saw them live in washington dc and it was magical.
I saw them on the first NA tour with Earthside. Been a fan since Inmazes but Applause from a distant crowd is what captivated me. Saw them in Baltimore!
Remember the in studio playthroughs of songs from Inmazes and how amazing those were. These guys are brilliant musicians who deserve the success they've seen. Also, Adam is an absolute animal behind the kit.
Can't stress how much i love this band. So proud to be from the same country and having had the pleasure of getting to know Asger and Nicolai -absolutely brilliant!
Just found Vola a few weeks ago and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the music. It’s heavy, light, beautiful, spacey and tight all at the same time. Easily becoming one of my favorite bands. Come to Texas so I can see you live! 😊
I recently got into Vola’s music and I’ve enjoyed every minute. It’s finally bringing more musicality, melody and meaning into modern metal. They’re definitely one of the most important bands of this decade.
VOLA's music seems very warm to me, specially songs like 'Ruby Pool', it takes you to a very comforting place. Thank you for this live concert and a wonderful interview!
I'm so glad to be alive at this exact moment where i get to watch this live performance; I LOVE VOLA And i love the fact Audiotree is promoting Creativity and art creation... keep on!
Love these gentlemen and so many things that they generate. Witness is one of the best front to back albums of any genre of the last decade. What a joy to be alive while Vola is making music. Cheers to them.

They definitely are the best! Hi Mike! :)
Man, this was awesome to read. Hope things are looking up for you now brother.
I was at that concert! Right up front, too. They truly seem like such wonderful people!
That is an incredible story!! Heart goes out to you!
Thank you for sharing ^~^
What a blessing. That is so awesome, man

Maria 💙💙💙
Well said Maria, that's how it feels for me as well
Thats exactly what I feel about this Band, but couldnt name it. Thanks for this perfect explanation. 🎉
Thats the best description of Vola i´ve ever heard
Well put.
Glad to see that Shia LaBeouf is amazing on drums!!
Não esperava ver um comentário seu aqui kkkkkkk
Graaaaaaande theeeeemaia
The keyboard/synth makes everything sound so much bigger. Vola rules.

@@theiranxican7412 agreed. It adds so much and makes them stand out!
@@theiranxican7412 I don't know many who wouldn't pick an actual synth player over preprogrammed synth sounds, it's just such a rarity.
I remember I asked Asger a while back how he does those polyrhythms while singing. And his response was gold. “A lot of practice”.
Need a Leprous & Vola co-headlining World tour at this point

Absolute dream to host this.
Absolute hero 👌👌
Good work brother. I’ve been so obsessed with these guys
VOLA is the most forward-thinking band in metal now. goosebumps!
Watching Vola live playing Starburn is as close to a spiritual experience as I get up there with Tool for best live performance I’ve ever seen.
Vola is the only metal band who lets you feel love, positive energy , goosebumps but also kicks you in the balls, creeps you out and make you cry.
Apparently you haven't heard Bloodywood. They definitely hit those notes, too. Check out "Aaj" from them.
Try Devin Townsend ;) But there's so many metal bands that have a much wider range than just anger.
I'll add Voyager to the mix
I'd say that's true for most (progressive) metal bands
ill add katatonia to this mix
VOLA's music is like getting a hug that turns to a suplex afterwards
the drummer is absolutely right! its what you create within you.

Song hit Deep
Sorry for your losses. Everyone has its own path to follow, through pain and joyful moments. A hug to you from italy
That reaction is fucking great, return to it once in awhile, just to see him go “ok this is sick” and “look at his little face”
@@ega7072 honestly hearing adam speak and *not* having an old grandad voice threw me for a loop
Me too.I even thanked craig for that on a stray show

Top
This band is in the top of world prog metal bands right now. Simply brilliant.
Wow! I love VOLA so much. The curation of Audiotree is just perfect
Asger shredding like it aint a thing while hitting all THOSE vocal notes and harmonies 😮
Yeah, I thought the same thing...damn
The Danish Devin Townsend
Head Mounted Sideways is so good
Cynic, Caligula's Horse, and now VOLA? Godamn we are getting fed real good!

Great band great musicians looking forward to seeing them they are hitting my town in the Spring
Love this band even more after seeing this.
Best band of 2024!
Well, they officially have a new fan from a small village in America!

Yes! This is now my absolute favorite Audiotree performance. I love this band.
When one of your favorite drummers says his main influence is Karl Sagan, you know you're good at choosing favorite drummers.
Some members of this band did a odd cover of Meshuggahs spasm and it's the most out of this world himalayans ritual shit I've ever heard
Was it the cover of Shed? Trued finding a Spasm one but couldn't find anything

Thanks for the musical hug! Hope you guys can make it over to Australia soon :)
Of the greatest bands that music has produced in recent times, the public and critics only owe them applause.
Wish i couldve heard some insight from Martin, hes such a huge part of their sound.

Everything they create feels epic.
Some of the most inspired group of people. What a gift to learn from such icons across the world through a screen.

This other level, this is the second part... Brutal
Definitely one of the best bands going right now.
