@@arcanask It's amazing to see in real-time the transition from millennials complaining about how boomers constantly acting superior, to millienials now acting superior to Gen Z/X/whatever. It's impressive how unaware people are, truly.

kids appreciate it when you treat them normally, instead of treating them like a dog. Unless they are very little kids, but those can easily be entertained by just giving them literally anything to play with.

I had a bit of a pyromaniac phase as a child, but then I accidentally scorched a little Buddha statue in the corner of a room and got terrified that I'd be struck down by a bolt of lightning for my sacrilegious acts so I stopped playing with fire.

I feel like most kids who lived through the wild times of the 90s or earlier, like myself, have a few incidents in their past where they nearly killed someone or themselves by doing stupid shit. Especially country kids.
I nearly killed the neighbour kid when I made a slide from our hayloft with bailing plastic. He went like 20cm from the edge of the hayloft and then he just dropped straight down. Second scariest event I caused, the scariest was when I shot my mom in the buttock with an air gun. She was very mad needless to say.
My dad also decided that I needed to learn how to swim so he took me to the only deep fjord near where we lived and threw me into the water without warning. I did learn to swim that day but I also lost a lot of trust in my dad.
Of course, I can't speak to how dumb kids are nowadays, but I sincerely doubt they've gotten smarter than I was as a kid. :P
