I want the story when Tempus group encounter a dark queen only for her to realize Vesper is there and she was like "Vesper, long time no see, still playing KOTOR?"
I didn't expect the SC to get read considering how fast the chat was going, but I'm glad it did. We got to hear Vesper's chance encounter with a really cool goth girl that he befriended through KotOR. I also feel ashamed when Gramps told me that he breezed through Dantooine in 12 hours, saying it was really QUICK.
I'm not surprised the KOTOR Guidebook is fricking thicc. It's basically a TTRPG but in video game form. I tried getting into KOTOR, but my god it is so not beginner friendly with the stat distribution, rolls and skills. Stats are everything, and if you invested in the wrong stats and don't know how to use your skills, you're fucked. And now Vesper looks like the kind of guy goth girls would die to be with. Oh how the turntables turntable. Fr fr He was exactly like me in high school though. Anytime a girl or pretty much anyone approached me I wasn’t friends with, you could hear my brain sizzle. Thankfully, socialization after high school made me less awkward.
Man the only times I had girls come up to me in high school was when they were dared to ask you out so their group could laugh at you, never fell for it but it definitely wasn't nice. Back in middle school, over 25 years ago, I remember looking through an ad (compusa? Been years.... Forgive me). A more jock member of my class came over and noticed that I was on the pc game section. Pointed out TIE Fighter and asked if I played it. Of course I did, but we hardly ever communicated, and thought the same thing as vesper. He is going to roast me. He started to go on about what a great game it is, and we talked about it a bit. I would say we didn't become friends, but we did have some respect for each other. That's very interesting because KOTOR was not just the game but the THING that got me really into Star Wars. Before KOTOR, I knew of Stars Wars existence but I honestly couldn't even pick out what happened in which movie because I had only seen them in passing. I feel like I might actually be older than Vesper or maybe I just didn't play it until years after it came out but I don't remember ever playing the game until I was at least a few years into college because I didn't get an Xbox until I went to college and had many fond memories of playing Halo through the school's LAN network and eventually waiting out in a MASSIVE LINE for the release of Halo 2 where the local GameStop fed us cold pizza and we stayed in very high spirits despite all the chaos. We played SO MUCH Halo 2 in college, it was crazy. I just remember that at SOME POINT I did get a copy of KOTOR and after playing it I just thought to myself that this was the best Star Wars story I had ever seen. I just Googled it to make sure but KOTOR came out in 2003 which was around the time I first started college and Halo 2 came out in 2004. Honestly, I think I actually played KOTOR after Halo because it was a used copy of the game that I got and it was definitely after seeing Attack of the Clones which had me in a pretty uninterested point as far as Star Wars went. The sequel apparently came out at the end of 2004 so I probably played it sometime in 2005 or 2006 and just laughed really hard when they made a joke about a really horrible line for the prequels in the opening act.
