i was at St Winifreds well today amazing place and the history behind it and i totally missed this place so we only live in wrexham so we are going when we get some nice weather to Basingwerk abbey
That's great Adam, nice place isn't it, the Abbey is only quarter of a mile down the road....hope you enjoy that too when you visit :-)....many thanks.
Great video again, a nice look at some very historical places. I'm gonna have to check them out at some point. Always enjoy videos like this involving historical buildings. Nice video, really enjoyed watching.
I'd say the new camera is working superb Paul. It captured the history and awesome beauty of the Welsh people that built those amazing structures. Fantastic that the buildings have been preserved as best they can for their age. Wonderful video, thanks for sharing. Enjoy.
We visited here a couple of weeks ago! It’s so cool isn’t it! We’d love to walk the pilgrims trail. Basingwerk Abbey is incredible. We really enjoyed your tour of the Abbey. Oo you went to Winifred’s well too! We did that as well, it was covered in snow though!! The tap was frozen for the water when we went!! Thanks for the tour 🍻
Amazing arcatechture and history there! When you went to the second spot you could see how the windows would've looked and that little grato where Mary was! Those constuction Craftsmen were really skilled artistan! I really appreciate you allowing me to see this part of history! Thank you for taking me today! And yes I'm dang hungry now! Wish I had a butter cheese and onion butty and a cuppa☕ Yorkshire! Atb Mark
Very interesting video. Enjoyed that. Couldn’t help thinking though, the guy who went for a dip cured one ailment only to get hyperthermia! Lol. What a amazing building.
Great video enjoyed that. The well has a dip pool next to it I think that pilgrims walk down into the water next to the well and back up the other side. It looked gated off when you were there. I was hoping to see you do the walk ! Great video.
Fascinating! Other than some Puebla Indian ruins in our Southwest, America’s oldest structures only date to the 1600’s... Very interesting video, thank you!
So, I went to this yesterday, having walked up from Greenfield Dock......only to find they don't allow dogs !! Thankfully your video showed me what I missed so will be making a return trip minus the dog ! Thanks for this video :-)
Shocking how Henry VIII destroyed so much because he wanted a divorce and got rid of the Catholic church as an excuse and all the abbey's and needed money for wars.Another bad news for most was Oliver Cromwell with the Civil War destruction of so many castles. King Henry VIII caused the shrine and saintly relics to be destroyed at the St Winefride's Holy Well but some have been recovered to be housed at Shrewsbury and Holywell.
I have been to this beautiful and holy place and I have felt a complete peace in my soul
Amazing places Paul. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks.
