We named her Frinda is still under our care and hopefully a forever home will be found for her.
She has old broken bones at both sides of her pelvis and arthritis at her legs. Other than that she is a healthy dog.
The lke of Plastira where we found her is near the mountains. The winter up there is very heavy! Has no houses around, only a few small tourist shops and that made me think how hard was her life all those years.

Five years ago I took an elderly dog off the streets and she was pretty sick!
She recovered, looked beautiful and was extremely sweet and kind ! Today she left, I buried her under the tree she loved the most !
Those who can adopt these creatures, new or not, give love and you will receive much more!

Already a bit emotional. I read your reply. Shed a few tears for you. Have been there, many times.
I know it seems very hard to consider, but even if you are not ready to take on another permanent dog, if you offer to foster a pair of dogs, even in grief, you will be kept busy, your brain will be working to solve any problems - and your heart will be comforted, knowing in your dog's memory, you have saved 2 dogs.
Because they are only fostered, it doesn't matter if they aren't the dog you would choose. These dogs are fostered, to find their homes, and fill up your life with making 2 dogs blossom.
Two dogs are better, because it is hard for rescues to find a foster for 2, 2 keep you entertained, your days filled. Even when - or if, you have problems, dealing with them is 100 times easier, than returning to a quiet home, an empty dog bed. You could foster until you fall in love with your perfect dog, when you are ready.
So sorry for your loss, but the love and care you gave her was beyond price

Really she is. I liked her, she is very shy, she is not a shelter's dog. It seems that she had an owner many time ago.

In all those long years of being s stray and never having laid on a soft bed she is now safe and cared for by the wonderful Ermioni. I'm with you. Imagine her in a home with a garden, no cars, her own place in the sun on something soft. She so deserves it. Her life must have been tragedy after tragedy so far and nobody to care, you can see how deeply patient her character has become. There does not seem to be much in the way of adoptions from DAR, I suppose they are not on a tourist route? But I know they will not give up on wanting the best for her.

yes. I couldn't watch past the month stay at the warm vet hospital. The last video from here I saw, the beautiful dog was put into an outdoor concrete dog house with a muddy little area to walk out into. I don't like that the rescue animals are put outside in those conditions. And yes, it is better than on the streets.

I grew up in the rural U.S. where I always had a dog, sometimes as a best friend. Now 38 years living in Japan, and my apartment contract does not allow me to keep any pets. Still, I manage to feed the neighborhood stray cat, and 4 crows that visit my veranda every morning for cat food.
In these times of unprecedented greed, fear, and corruption - I am reminded of a quote by Mark Twain ... The more I know about people, the better I like my dog. You are one of the good people. Your videos are a breath of fresh air I've come to depend on.

A kind man does not watch an helpless soul get hurt several times without helping himself...So only when the poor dog after severel accidents really could walk no more, he did not offer help himself but he rather call out for someone else to act instead of him ....Every evil on earth can only happen with people standing by, doing nothing, hoping for a hero to come to do the hard and dirty work.
