Odysseus broke my heart since the minute I saw him ,there on the streets, sick and alone . It took me only a few minutes to understand that he is blind, and a few more minutes to realize his deaf . One of his eyes is missing, we don't know what happened to him , the other eye is blind .
He had a collar around his neck which says that once he was an owners dog . He didn't had a microchip and no one looked for him ,not via the police, not via the local vets , not via social media or our organization.
He is staying under my care and will remain with me as it is not easy to find adoption for such an elderly dog plus deaf and blind .
Will make sure he will have everything he needs to have a quality of life .

This poor little one blind and deaf wandering alone sick and hungry. Thank you for taking the time to save him, this poor baby didn't deserve to be all alone to struggle just to survive. If he was abandoned how sad that someone could just dump him that is just plain wrong. God bless you for helping restore this cutie and now he can live his best life as a senior dog without having to struggle for food and shelter. He looks wonderful so much better. I love all his new friends and seeing all those tails wagging does my heart good
Ermioni, you are an amazing woman. You never give up on even the most difficult challenges. You were there for this old broken Dog who would have eventually died a dark and lonely death and now he gas everything to live for. He looks amazing now. I hope he has a few happy years with you. He looks like a dog I found many years ago. I had been to my high school reunion, and was very depressed, because I had never fit in in school, and I still didn't fit in. I pulled over to a vacant lot and parked, and cried. Then I saw this poor little dog wandering, with cataracts and smelling very bad. I took her home and she became our pet. I think fate had us meet that night, for under other circumstances, I would never have been in that vacant lot.

His transformation at the end is amazing, once the mange and eye infections were gone. Look at his shiny, beautiful red and black coat! That little boy Odysseus would have died alone and probably in pain if you had not rescued him. Being both blind and deaf it is amazing he managed to survive. Now this little boy can spend his last years in peace with love. What more could any of us ask. Thank you .

That is why they love you so much. Ermioni, i am 72yrs old, and if i were to have life over, i will choose to do what you do. It’s not an easy job, and you face many challenges, but the rewards are huge….. a tail wag, shining thankful eyes, a bark and a jump!! So rewarding, and they never bad-mouth you. It happens to all dedicated animal rescuers, adopters and fosters, and even to people who donate to animal rescue that to a lot of people who believe that happiness is tied to material gains, fame and power, they think that people who go above and beyond to save animals are sacrificing their lives, when in reality, there is that priceless feeling of contentment, fulfillment, happiness and spirituality when another precious life of a creature is saved. You are living the good life Ermione and in fact, you brighten and give hope. For all the years you spent and each day you give to change the life of the forgotten, abandoned and abused dogs in Greece, that is where your true happiness is. In the Bible it says, "As you do unto the least of these, so I will do unto you". These kitties were all just thrown away, how can you do that to a living thing? Plz donate to animal rescue centers, even if just a little bit. They do miraculous work but very much need viewers help so they can continue. Hope and sympathy don't pay the vet bills, unfortunately. I donate monthly and feel great for doing so. Plz take a few minutes to donate and help save a life... You'll be better for it and will never regret it.

He’s a beautiful dog. I had a an older blind and deaf dog years ago. They adjust and do just fine in homes. Thankfully he was also found by someone who cared. He got to spend the rest of his days in a warm loving home.😊

Sacrificing your life??? I would say you have a life full of purpose, joy, love & yes heartbreak, but a life being well lived!!! This person/s do not understand what it is to have a passion such as yours. This little darling dog Odysseus is proof of that!!! And as a side note, i loved watching the little puppy and then all the dogs loving & playing w/him. They obviously all took to him right away. So glad you saw him and he's now safe & loved w/you!!!!

Animals give unconditional love no matter how bad the circumstances, unfortunately the same can’t be said for a large percentage of humans who only think about themselves first, second and last!! I have always loved animals and for many years now prefer them to most humans!!

Your love for him changed his life. You are a miracle worker. Those who say you are sacrificing your life for these animals do not know the rewards that await when you rescue an animal. I have rescued many animals also and I have been told the same thing. I tell them, no human will ever love me as much as those animals I have rescued. To save an animal is to save a soul.
