I am 6'1" and have the 2021 Duke 390. I am pretty comfortable on it and really enjoy its pep!
Am also 6"1 is it good looking (i asking look wise only)
6'4", 250 here. My buddy just got one and has convinced me to take ot for a spin a few times. The knees are indeed the biggest problem. The cramped nature of all of the controls are a close second...i.e. the buttons on the handlebars buttons are NOT friends with big hands. Ktm really does make some good stuff, and the 390 duke is no exception. Just steer clear if you're over 5'11"
I am 6'5" and the newer version of Duke 390 is actually much more tall-friendly (the one shown here is a pre-2017 version). I did a test-ride on it and had no issues whatsoever. Knees were fine. If you don't mind the way you look on it, go for it. It is a great small bike even for tall people.
I suggests you update the title specifying you are talking about first model revision, as there is a significant difference how the new one fits.
Thanks for your comment, I almost gave up a week of research thinking I may be too tall at 6'5. I'm interested in a '20 790. Safe to say I should be OK? Gonna go check one out this week.
@@naradaAye Have not tried 790, but I researched it a lot at one point and found that tall people do not find it that comfortable when compared to 890, which is supposed to be better. What I can say after riding both 390 and 1290, is that they are identical in terms of physical size and comfort. In terms of how I looked on them - I saw my picture on both and it works well for 390 as it is supposed to be a smaller bike. But when you look the same on a 1300cc bike, you know there is something very wrong with the design of SD. I immediately dropped 1290 from the list and and in the end bought MT10 SP. S1000R was the only other hyper-naked I found comfy and visually adequate for my size, alas the engine was a bit boring.

@@impact0r What??? 1290 and 390 are same size?? Im 7 ft tall, ale 1290 looks pretty big to me, but I didnt sit on it
@@tazzicek That's right. I've ridden both and felt/looked exactly the same on both. I am 6ft5inch and I looked ridiculous on Duke 1290 (even though it felt fine). I would go as far as saying 390 was better because it was not supposed to look big, while SD is supposed to, but fails miserably.
I went for MT10 instead and although I still look big on it, it is at least not SuperDuke-comical.

While the bike is at a standstill everything seems to be alright..... You need to ride it at least a min 30 mins on uneven surfaces to see how your body handles it
What about for someone who is 6’3, do you think the sitting position is still uncomfortable.
That's too bad. I really like the look of the 390. The 890 just doesn't have the same appeal. Fellow 6'5'' rider thanks you for work!

Why you chose small bikes for review? If you are tall and want to show which bike fits better tall guys, than do it proper and chose bikes for tall peoples, such a multistrada 1200, yamaha mt10, ktm 990 smt, bmw k1300r/s, bmw s1000xr, ktm 1290 sd and so on.
All of us are at different stages of our riding career. Some are pros and some are just starting out. Therefore, many of us are looking at smaller bikes and I want to help them make the right decision. They potentially have little to no experience so they need the most help! I am definitely planning on doing larger bikes. Ive already done a CBR1000RR, XSR900, Tracer 900.

No not at all, my first bike was a mt-03 and even that bike was pretty nice to ride. After couple of trying new bikes i find the mt09 the most comfy and fun to ride even better then the mt-10
