Perfect video! Had been waiting for such analysis on CVT. Have shared it on TeamBhp forum as well! It would have been great if you could have covered hill pickup and overall handling of car at Highway speed. 👍
Nice content. Please keep such videos coming and don't forget to make a similar video for other cars with DCT, CVT and manual transmission. Also, including the engine specifications would have been helpful as DCTs are usually offered with turbos and CVTs with NAs.
After watching all your videos on hector , I have booked hector shine petrol CVT...it is a best variant with all the power, performance, mileage, comfortableness, ride quality 😀, premiumness . ❤🤟. U have done a well research. Hatts off to you n your team
Any way one thing is for sure. MG HECTOR CVT AT PETROL is a heavy / fully loaded/ huge vehicle which can’t be compared with Creta, Harrier, seltos, Taigun which often the RUclipsRS Are doing. Customer is getting next level vehicle with hardly a difference of approx. 3 lacs compared with the above mentioned vehicles for eg. It’s an SUV with a blend of EUROPEAN DNA 🧬 with Chineese Captain ship which is very much needed to sustain today’s competition. I feel It’s is a nice combination to sustain the market in terms of pricing and also further development of electronics/ software, where the Chinese are good in doing with less cost with out throwing much burden on end users unlike European manufacturers. This is the reason where the Once upon a time Automobile Hero’s like Ford , VW , Honda etc are struggling a lot to launch and sustain the price market like in India so this is the reason I say the Chinese collaboration is needed to give tough fight for Korean car makers. I have explained so much about Chinese collaboration here only as my answer to some YOU TUBERS who are mentioning this car as a CHINESE CAR to promote Negative Propaganda but they don’t know how this CHINESE CAR WILL do wonders in the coming price market Wonderful CVT , 18” tyres , 2 nd row ample legroom, 10.4 Infotainment with Internet inside are a very to mention. Huge boot, can be converted into bedroom on long night drives . It’s like getting a LIMOUSINE ! , for the price. Inspite of wonderful mileage.
Woah this was so much needed, i was searching for this comparison and its great. Irrespective of the mileage can you please also update the wear and tear of the clutch plates, transitions if the car is accelerated or de-accelersted, also in heavy jams or while driving in a hilly or rough conditions which engine can be easy to drive, so that the car doesn't feel underpowered. Thanks in advance
I'm using Hector DCT from 14Jan 2021 and I hardly get 8 r 9kmpl in Bangalore traffic and I even experienced 6kmpl... How you got 11+kmpl...? Could you please give me with tips...
What ever may be the fuel efficiency subject I do recommend Dct rather than Cvt. Because I am getting 11k.m.per litere in cities with Dct variant and in highway 13.4k.m.litre. My friend everything is depending on ur driving style. Fuel efficiency is not easy for all the drivers. Mind it. 🙏
is there any rubber band effect from the cvt and whats the fuel efficiency that ur getting from both city & highway rides? im planning to buy hector but confused
one is naturally aspirated and the other is turbo petrol so u really can't compare their performance. if ur a driving enthusiast go for the turbo petrol, else if u are looking for relaxed driving choose the CVT
Have driven both, my opinion would be in case your max usage is in city then 1.5 CVT is good enough.. but yes it's not really fun to drive i would say. If you really want to enjoy the driving experience and don't mind the extra cost then turbo AT is definitely better. But then again do ask your self do u really need all that power before choosing. Also do keep in mind the milage difference. CVT if driven Lightfooted should give you significantly better milage
An extra gear in dct will make it more efficient than cvt. Point is the driving characteristics Torque converter these days are efficient and more apt for all conditions. Diesel torque converter is the best in terms of balance between fuel efficiency abd driving characteristics
What about high speed stability of hector cvt ? Have come to know that it doesn't inspire much confidence above 90 km/hr and it typically nose dives with full load

Much required video! 👍🏻
Sir mujhe mg hector lena hai koin sa veriat lena sahi hoga petrol me cvt ya dct automatic top model hi chahiye mujhe bataye sir
No point in watching this video now as DCT is discontinued by MG. But still good to watch as V3 provides other details for CVT which is good.
Kia sonet DCT vs CVT par bhi video bana dijiye.
Really good explanation👍 I have bought CVT transmission last month, it s wonderful SUV 😍
is there any rubber band effect from the cvt and whats the fuel efficiency that ur getting from both city & highway rides? im planning to buy hector but confused

Bro, Can you please compare the MG Astor CVT and AT, please? We would like to know more about MG Astor transmission comparison. Thank You 🙏🏻 😊

Very nice explanation
SIR what is hybride in mg hector plus
doesn't seem fair to compare new cvt and old dct. Request to upgrade the DCT as CVT is newer version and see the result.
Well explained.. Keep it up.
Best explanation
Perfect review 👌👌

Amazing! Thanks
What about high speed stability of hector cvt ? Have come to know that it doesn't inspire much confidence above 90 km/hr and it typically nose dives with full load
that doesn't depend on gearbox
