@Azahel 452 Is it though? The Nibelheim flashback scenes like the water tank talk with Tifa and Cloud or the battle with Sephiroth in front of the Jenova tank all happen in Calm in the og game. And the fight with Jenova aboard a ship happens even later.

The theory stated that living beings infected with Jenova cell will seek to reunite with Jenova eventually. In the original game, you will see men in black cloak mentioning about reunion. These are all experimental subjects who are injected with Jenova cell. Therefore, they are driven to reunite with the original body of Jenova.

But the term remake actually suggests more change than a "remaster" does. I get it, there were some people who were expecting a very safe modernization of the original. But FFVII didn't become popular by being safe. It pushed the boundaries of what a video game was at the time it came out. And square wants to recapture that for their second rendition.
@AT Productions Yeah, that's the point but that doesn't make it good idea or product. Half of Lion King's appeal was it's character design. All of that is lost when you go all out with realism. You don't look at Scar in the remake and say, "That'sScar." You say, "That sure is a lion."
I am Max in this scenario. I'll be 41 in March and this is my favourite game of all time. I have had the same reactions as him and other since its announcement, just freaking out and an emotional rollercoaster

My first exposure to the original game as a young teenager (aside from the brief TV ad) was in a game store watching someone play from the battle with Rufus to the battle with Motor Ball. It goes without saying that that track was part of what instantly captivated me. It's remained my favorite tune from any Final Fantasy game.
It's genuinely crazy how I've never met Max and only know him from his twitch / youtube, but the first person that comes to mind when I saw this trailer was him, and wanting to see his reaction. I love technology and how it brings us all together.

Literaly me. Whenever ANYTHING related to FF7:Remake comes along, my first thought isn't "Oh my god, hype!" It's "How in the HELL will Max react t this?!" That is ALWAYS my first thought, and so far, when I've watched the trailers, I'm like "He's gonna fucking love this."

I know this is late by a long time, but was just watching this again. I had the same thing, we would even sound check with a version of Aerith's theme.
I know im part of the minority, but moments like these, especially when watching people like Max react, is the reason FF7R is my GOTY, and now along with the original, my favorite game of all time.
He still contributes to FF games from time to time, he just no longer works there full time since X. He did a good deal of XI's OST, XIV 1.0, and the main themes of XIV: ARR, HW, and SB.
I wouldn't say they've shown much. Midgar was a 3ish hour segment in vanilla. The main story alone in the remake is supposed to be over 20 hours. So, we've hardly seen shit when it comes to the new additions. They've been keeping that under wraps.

It is a f***ing stunning trailer, they're going crazy with the detail. Lovin that they kept the Honey Bee Inn; it put a lot of people's worries to rest and its a good sign of things to come. I adore how much life they've given characters; especially Palmer; who was arguably the most forgettable of the Shinra villains. Scarlett, Reeve, Red XIII, Professor Hojo...man, when they introduce Cid, I'm personally gonna lose my sheeeet~
If they ever do. The pessimist in me keeps thinking about all those comments of people still butthurt that its going to be episodic, and how they are not going to get thos game until ALL parts are out, nevermind that will likely be some years aways and that if reception is not good it may affect us getting the conclusion at all. Square knows they have a lot riding on this and that it has to be perfect. And I am honestly starting to worry that indeed everything this far has been *too* perfect. I am trying to be cautiously optimistic because reality is I am indeed the most excited I have been in my life about a game and I want it to be good...but that pesky pessimistic and jaded side of me can't shut the hell up in the back of my mind =(
The first time I ever got to play this game was on PC back in early 1999 when I was 13. Red XIII was my favorite character and in my head all these years I have imagined what his voice would sound like and what his emotions would be in said voice..... they fucking nailed the voice in my head. When he spoke in this trailer my masculine 33yr old ass squealed like a teenage girl, goose bumps included.
I wasn't interested at all. Now I am. I've always loved FF music though, but could never get into the games (idk the setting, lore and atmosphere didn't do it for me). It's on my radar now
MY GOD I didn't think I could get any more exited for this, Scarlet looks exactly like her original artwork and even Palmer looks good.....Nanaki looks...wao so goddamn perfect, they are even keeping the silliness of the original during the wall market visit....I have no words to show my appreciation, but Max puts it all in words and I love his reactions because I can relate.
Cherry Dragon And Elena but she only appears once they leave Midgar so I'm here hoping, I want to dodge her punch and watch her roll down the snowy mountain in these gorgeous graphics.
One thing that always disappointed me in the original is that the party never had any scenes with Reeve... like ever. I hope we get to see Reeve interacting with the party before they know he's Cait so we can have some dramatic irony.
It means they don't leave out possibly the weirdest and gimmicky weapon in the game, they even made melee animation for Barret just for that weapon. I'm hyped for it, hopefully Square delivers after the failure Blizzard did.

I appreciate from the short clip that the Honeybee Inn part seems to be drifting away from "Haha man in dress" and seems more modern. Don Corneo doesn't even seem put off by Clouds voice. I'm legit impressed!
- The acting for this game feels so different when compared to other Final Fantasy games. Not even the acting in 15 felt this on point and synced. It makes me wonder if this game was really made by Square Enix. - I really hope for the crossdressing scene that Cloud gets a Lightning outfit. - Jenova looks like a Resident Evil monster and that is really cool.
It was made by them. But due to them knowing how popular FF7 is they put in far more effort than usual. This game has probably been complete and playable since last year. But they spent far more time polishing it to perfection.
I didn’t even know anything about Final Fantasy VII because I never played the original unfortunately. Only because I didn’t know it existed, despite growing up in the 90’s. But my best friend’s favorite game was FFVII, so he told me I should get the Remake. I had no expectations, and I didn’t know anything about FFVII, but this trailer is what sold me to get it. Just the scene with Cloud and Tifa in Nibelheim alone is what got me excited about this game…..I could instantly tell the characters and the world was something that I wanted to explore.

Max’s reaction to new trailer appearing in my feed. Couldn’t have clicked faster. 🤣 There’s only one person I know that likes the game as much as I do, and that’s you. Everything so far has been perfect. There’s only one thing bothering me and that’s the multi-part aspect of the project. I want them to let us continue with OUR characters (levels, gear, items, unlocks, etc.) when part 2 comes out. When every parts are out, I don’t want the experience to feel disjointed in a way the original didn’t. :(

The majority of the characters are voiced almost *exactly* the way I imagined them when I first played. Squaresoft is making a business move that other media companies just seem completely blind to: *GIVE THE CONSUMERS WHAT THEY WANT*
This is why I haven't been upset about delays. Unlike most studios who ship broken or incomplete messes... Square wants to put out a fantastic product, and I can appreciate that.

My first exposure to the original game as a young teenager (aside from the brief TV ad) was in a game store watching someone play from the battle with Rufus to the battle with Motor Ball. It goes without saying that that track was part of what instantly captivated me. It's remained my favorite tune from any Final Fantasy game.
The fact that there's no rock organ or electric guitar in it brings tears of sadness to my eyes.

I wouldn't say they've shown much. Midgar was a 3ish hour segment in vanilla. The main story alone in the remake is supposed to be over 20 hours. So, we've hardly seen shit when it comes to the new additions. They've been keeping that under wraps.

It is a f***ing stunning trailer, they're going crazy with the detail. Lovin that they kept the Honey Bee Inn; it put a lot of people's worries to rest and its a good sign of things to come. I adore how much life they've given characters; especially Palmer; who was arguably the most forgettable of the Shinra villains. Scarlett, Reeve, Red XIII, Professor Hojo...man, when they introduce Cid, I'm personally gonna lose my sheeeet~

The pessimist in me keeps thinking about all those comments of people still butthurt that its going to be episodic, and how they are not going to get thos game until ALL parts are out, nevermind that will likely be some years aways and that if reception is not good it may affect us getting the conclusion at all. Square knows they have a lot riding on this and that it has to be perfect. And I am honestly starting to worry that indeed everything this far has been *too* perfect. I am trying to be cautiously optimistic because reality is I am indeed the most excited I have been in my life about a game and I want it to be good...but that pesky pessimistic and jaded side of me can't shut the hell up in the back of my mind =(

The first time I ever got to play this game was on PC back in early 1999 when I was 13. Red XIII was my favorite character and in my head all these years I have imagined what his voice would sound like and what his emotions would be in said voice..... they fucking nailed the voice in my head. One thing that always disappointed me in the original is that the party never had any scenes with Reeve... like ever. I hope we get to see Reeve interacting with the party before they know he's Cait so we can have some dramatic irony.

It means they don't leave out possibly the weirdest and gimmicky weapon in the game, they even made melee animation for Barret just for that weapon. I'm hyped for it, hopefully Square delivers after the failure Blizzard did.

- The acting for this game feels so different when compared to other Final Fantasy games. Not even the acting in 15 felt this on point and synced. It makes me wonder if this game was really made by Square Enix.

It was made by them. But due to them knowing how popular FF7 is they put in far more effort than usual. This game has probably been complete and playable since last year. But they spent far more time polishing it to perfection.

I didn’t even know anything about Final Fantasy VII because I never played the original unfortunately. Only because I didn’t know it existed, despite growing up in the 90’s. But my best friend’s favorite game was FFVII, so he told me I should get the Remake.
I had no expectations, and I didn’t know anything about FFVII, but this trailer is what sold me to get it.
Just the scene with Cloud and Tifa in Nibelheim alone is what got me excited about this game…..I could instantly tell the characters and the world was something that I wanted to explore.
