    Nice lesson. Thanks. Sometimes I just fake the chords and double stops. Seems to work, but probably real chords give you more playing possibilities.

      You may actually be stumbling onto some embellished chords with the notes you choose...letting you ear say "does this sound good" usually leads to the right combo of notes. Knowing the names of the chords, as presented here, is helpful when trying to communicate with other players.

      @@EddieCollinsMusic Thanks. I am meaning to get more into finding the names - and positions - for established chords. I rarely play with others though. That could of course change sometime.
