Baker always comes up short in the playoffs when it’s not vs teams who have lost 6 straight games (Steelers) or a team who lost 5 out of 6 games (Eagles) going into the playoffs…
I was sweating hard as soon as Baker took that cheap shot, from one of my guys, and got up pissed. I told my girl “A pissed Baker is a really good Baker.” TB needs to re sign him and if they can squeeze another year out of Evans and Godwin…in that division…I like their chances.
As a Bucs fan, didn't really expect too much, still happy we made it this far. But the Lions are just red hot this season

Dude it’s so crazy to see someone’s say that about our team. I’m 38… the lions haven’t seen a playoff game or came this close to one in over 32 years. So my entire life I’ve watched the lions lose. Finally we have a squad.

The Buccaneers are a well coached football team, and deserve much respect. As a Lions fan, I can tell you that they scared me in this game. Todd Bowles is a great head coach, and Baker Mayfield has finally found a home. Congratulations on a really solid season, and GO LIONS!

Giants, Washington, and then Dallas twice in a row 4 the Bills 4 straight loses. They should have beat the Chiefs last night and they still haven't even nade an AFC championship game with Josh Allen as there QB. Mahomes hasn't missed an AFC championship game in 6 years. Brady has the record of 8 Afc Championship games in a row. Chiefs Won 2 Super Bowls, lost 1 2 Brady, and lost his first Afc Championship games Brady. Unreal if ya think about it. Baker was unreal in this game, despite the 2 picks he was throwing darts into tight windows all game.
Making passes like that is super skilled but it's what ultimately cost the buccs the game. They should have ran it and ran the clock down at the end but instead makes another risky pass and ends it all🤷♂️

As a fan of the game, it's hard NOT to root for a story like the Detroit Lions this year. Really similar to the Bengals a couple years ago in the postseason with the same negative history working against them. Thrilling game, thrilling environment 🔥

Interesting the Lions exploited the middle of the field and the Bucs exploited the sidelines. At the end the Bucs went center field pass and got picked off. Again. I see Detroit 28-21 against the 49's

My Dad was a Lions fan since he moved to Michigan when he was 15. Until the day he passed he would watch the Lions every year. I know he’s finally smiling down on them now!

I'm from Arizona but have been following and rooting for the Lions since their Hard Knocks season in 2022
After going 3-13-1 in 2021with Dan Campbell, most people gave up on him and the team but not their loyal fans or management
In his 2nd season, Hard Knocks decided to cover their preseason. They ended up losing 6 of their first 7 games but many were close games
Their loyal fans and management still didn't give up on him. They ended up winning 8 of their last 10 games for that season
Then we all know what happened this season...so happy for their lifelong fans and us new fans from other States...GO LIONS!!!

I've been a fan since the 1957 - 58 season. It's been a long, long, dry spell for the Lions and their fans. Thanks to Brad Holmes and the Ford family for all the hard work and money in highering Dan Campbell and assembling the team, we all enjoy today.

As impressive as the Bucs were in making a comeback and taking the Division and trouncing the Eagles , there is no doubt the four best teams are going at it next week . The Houston Texans (2002) haven't been around nearly as long as the Detroit Lions (1930 Portsmouth Spartans. 1934 Detroit Lions), nor have you had to suffer through a winless campaign or 32 years without a playoff win, 67+ years with only one playoff win (1991-92 season) since 1957. No offense, but Texans fans have had it WAY better than Lions fans. The situations are not the same, so don't act like they are. The only fans who even come close to being like Lions fans are Cleveland Browns fans. At least they've been around almost as long and went through similar struggles, along with their own 0-16 season after the Lions did it first.
Hey, I'm just proud and very happy for the Lions and their fans, getting into the playoffs and now into the NFC champ game. I'm a Ravens fan so we saw you earlier and we may see you again, but for now, I have nothing but praise for the Lions organization and especially their fans.

The Lions advance to the NFC Championship game for the first time since 1991. This is also the first time they have won multiple playoff games in the same postseason since 1957 (their last NFL title).
Ironically, in 1957 the Lions had to beat San Francisco to go to the Championship Game. To think it would happen again in this lifetime…

Baker always comes up short in the playoffs when it’s not vs teams who have lost 6 straight games (Steelers) or a team who lost 5 out of 6 games (Eagles) going into the playoffs…

What a year it has been for Baker Mayfield. He played better than that 2020 season at Cleveland this year and he deserves a contract. Maybe not a top 5 qb contract but he deserve a multi year deal for sure.
Yes, he deserves long term security and I think Tampa will give him that. He played well down the stretch to get the team into the playoffs, as did the rest of the Bucs. Everybody thought TB would be mediocre without Brady. Guess they, and I, were wrong.

@@theproperenglishman yes, but down the stretch they were playing very well. The Lions ended up 9-8 last season as well, and look at them now. Sometimes you can't look at the record, but how they are trending at the end of the season. The Bucs were trending upward, just like the Lions in 2022.
I Agree with everyone on this season! The way they Turned this season around is Historic! I definitely think they're gonna b tough the next 3to 5years! Proud of The Lions!
That was a great game and a good opponent. I can't say enough about JG and this team, the offense was on point and then when the offense struggled the defense had their back and kept it close. My prediction for this game was Lions 34-24 so it was close. Congratulations to the Lions! One Pride

As a Bears fan, I got nothing to say about Detroit, good for them, I have family there, I’ve had a soft spot for Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson and Eric Kramer… So good for them, I hope they make it to the finals that would be pretty cool… It’s been a long time✌🏼👍🏼

Congratulation to Lions team and their fans for their second-ever trip to the NFCCG. I’ve expected them to be this good from the beginning of the season and as I said before we would meet each other in NFCCG… .
Been a Lions fan for over 4 decades. Lot of tough losses. But one thing is for certain, the Lions have risen up, and this young team will be very relevant beyond this season. Dan Campbell deserves coach of the year hands-down.
If MCDC isn't coach of the year for getting THE Detroit Lions to the NFC Championship and hopefully a SB then the award means nothing from that day forward.
Baker Mayfield has found a home in Tampa. He’s been very solid all season long, it’s just that he’s gotta understand that he doesn’t have hit the home run every time. Take the check down when it’s there. That’s something that he’s gonna have to learn to do better, and he needs a running game to help take the pressure off him to keep defenses honest
He’s done this in Cleveland too he throws ints in the worst possible moments
He had his best seasons, which is a down year for Brady

As a Bucs fan, this loss hurts. But it's completely bearable. Nobody gave us a chance at the start of the season. Hell, even I thought they were dead in the water come December. But to make the playoffs, get a dominant playoff win at home and be competitive down to the very end? I say it's been a good season.
I feel good about the next one.

This lost doesn't hurt at all for me because we showed up and didn't lay down. I never expected us to win. Detroit is a more talented team.

When I wasn’t rooting for my team, I was rooting for Barry Sanders who always ran like a champion no matter how uphill the battle was.
Since then, the Lions have been one of the “other guys” I root for (also because I just love a good underdog story).
So, it pleases me to see them have their Cinderella chance this year.

That was one of the best play off games in the last century. Great offense plays and defends plays. Both teams were playing at their best. Baker has really come a long way and Goff is playing good.
