Wasn't the result we wanted in Detroit, but man… 2023 was one of the most enjoyable seasons I’ve had in nearly 25 years as a Bucs fan. Outside of maybe 2010, the Bucs exceeded expectations more than I’ve ever seen. No one gave them a shot this year. I myself was extremely skeptical. It was hard not to be. Winning record, division title, blowout playoff win, competitive divisional playoff appearance. What an awesome season. I became a Bucs fan as a child in their heyday in the early 2000s. Super Bowl XXXVII was one of the fondest memories of my childhood. From 2003-2019 it was so damn hard man. So many brutal losses, so many awful seasons. So much crap thrown my way as a fan growing up. I can't even imagine the poor souls that endured the 80s and early 90s as well. But these last 4 years have been incredible. It just feels so good to be relevant. To play in relevant games and to be a winning franchise. I’m excited for the future. So much potential and alot to build on. Go Bucs. Hell of a ride in 2023. Top Players of 2023: Antoine Winfield Jr. Best Safety in the NFL. Had one of the best Bucs individual defensive seasons ever. Enough said. So glad he was given the first team All-Pro nod. Don’t even get me started on the Pro Bowl. He’s already right next to fellow safety John Lynch on the Buccaneers all time starting 11 defensively. 2. Tristan Wirfs Not much needs to be said here. Leader on and off the field and in my eyes the best Left Tackle in the NFL. He’ll be with the Bucs for hopefully another decade. 3. Mike Evans The man continues to show no signs of aging. You could argue he had his best season ever statistically. 10 straight 1,000 yard seasons and a future HOFER. At this rate he’s seriously looking at Top 5 in receiving yards and touchdowns in NFL History. 4. Lavonte David What I said for Mike. It’s absolutely incredible how good Lavonte David still is despite his age. The leader of this defense and I hope the Bucs do everything they can to get him back in Tampa for year 13. 5. Baker Mayfield I must admit, I had my doubts heading into the year, but Baker Mayfield’s play was arguably the biggest reason the Bucs were as successful as they were this year. He wasn’t perfect, but had a damn good season. I’d get used to Baker, because he’ll most likely be back in Tampa next season. 6. Chase McLaughlin A kicker? Yes a kicker. Despite the miss in Detroit… (his only non blocked missed kick of the entire season) he quite literally had the best kicking season in Tampa Bay Buccaneers history. The guy was nearly automatic. 8/10 from 50+ is unheard of. Other Great Seasons in no particular order: Rachaad White - I had my frustrations with White at the beginning of the year, particularly when it came to stalling and hitting the hole, but he really came into his own this year. 1539 yards from scrimmage. Most from a Bucs player since Doug Martin in 2015 and the 6th most all time. Vita Vea - The Big man upfront did his thing again Christian Izien - Wasn’t perfect but solid year for the undrafted rookie. Best thing about Izien is he’s not afraid to come up and make a tackle KJ Britt - Was very impressed with what Britt was able to do when on the field. Don’t think he has the athleticism to be a Pro Bowl type guy, but he’s a thumper and can be a solid player for the Bucs and a possible full time replacement next year if Devin White is indeed out the door. Luke Goedeke - Man… you’d be hard pressed to find someone that didn’t believe in Luke more than me. I wanted the man cut outright. What do I know. He really stepped up this year and looks to be the Bucs future at Right Tackle. I’m glad he made me eat my words. His mic’d up was also great. Yaya Diaby - 7.5 sacks and sack leader for the third round pick. Excited for the future and what Diaby can bring to the table. Needs for 2024 Edge - Shaq Barrett will always be a legend in Tampa Bay, unfortunately he’ll be heading into year 11 next year and is on the wrong side of 30. Meanwhile, JTS really hasn't panned out how we’d hoped. Go grab a guy to team with Yaya. DB - Bring in some competent depth at outside corner. Jamel Dean and Carlton Davis are ALWAYS getting hurt. Davis hasn't played more than 13 games since 2020 and has never once played a full season. Dean also has never played a full season. Zyon McCollum did his best but I think corner is definitely an area that can be improved. It’d be nice to see them bring in someone who can catch the damn ball. JAMEL lol. The other side of Antoine Winfield could also be improved. Ryan Neal… yeah…. Dee Delaney isnt a starter and Izien is probably better suited at the Nickel position. WR - Mike Evans and Chris Godwin aren't getting any younger. Trey Palmer impressed but did struggle at times with drops and fumbles. We’ll see if Russell Gage is brought back. Would love to see a legitimate speed threat for the Bucs at WR. Haven't had a starter with serious speed since AB decided to hop in an Uber mid game. TE - Cade Otton became a serious receiving threat down the stretch this season but his blocking ability is definitely lacking. LG - I doubt Matt Feiler is back and I’m don’t think Aaron Stinnie is a full time starter. The other 4 will be back but I’d look for a change at Left Guard
Bro I agree with everything you said brother it was by far the best season for me considering a new qb in big baker now that we got mike back glee gonna run it back again
The 2021 season after the SB was one of the best seasons to me and this past season was really enjoyable. I loved how we put it together towards the end. This coming season we’re going to be something to deal with. Can’t wait!
You see a reel like this and you realize that people are STILL underestimating and appreciating Antoine Winfield. Its the things you dont see the the stat line... All the touchdowns he prevented (twice vs Atlanta, vs Carolina, vs Chicago) and the balls he tipped that got intercepted by other players, running lanes and passing lanes he interrupted allowing other players to make the play. Its actually STILL undervaluing him when you say "he was snubbed for the Pro Bowl". You can make a legit argument that he was snubbed for Defensive Player of the Year talk.
I wish I had a Baker Buccaneers jersey. I'm originally an OU Sooner fan, and never watched the NFL. Except for one time when I was a kid, I think sometime in the 2000's. My dad randomly turned it on, and I thought it was a Super Bowl at the time, but I'm probably wrong. I just remember one of the team was the the Buccaneers, and I thought their logo/theme and the pirate ship was awesome. I thought that I would pick that team if I were to watch the NFL. But I never continued following or watching the NFL. I eventually did when my favorite OU QB got drafted...painfully to the Browns. I badly wanted his color rush jersey that he wore in his debut where he broke their winless streak. But his jersey sold out instantly, and was sold out for a while. But, my mother eventually bought me it for Christmas a couple of years later, after their playoff season in 2020. 😑 Just a couple of weeks later, they started selling those jerseys super cheap. And they changed they changed the color rush design. And that following season, he got injured and the season went poorly and he got traded. So I barely got to even use it. Now my favorite player is on a team who has a jersey of my favorite NFL team logo, and I badly wish I had one.. Those color rush ones looked sick as well. But I sadly can't afford it.
Mike Evans is still the best receiver. The Last year Brady was in town he had some terrible, I mean down right atrocious wide open touchdown drops. I feel like his head the last 2 years hasn’t been in it. He still had the craziest catch of last year early in the season, but he didn’t turn it on till that last stretch going into the playoffs. He seems hungry now that he signed that extension. I live in Tampa and every single day I’ve seen Baker, Evans, Godwin, and Sterling Shepherd run routes throw the ball so much unofficially at Evan’s house. And it looks like they are going to be clicking early hopefully. With Godwin for sure our permanent slot now, Trey Palmer at the number 2, and sterling as the other slot (I’ve been hearing we will run a ton of spread this year) I really think we will be damn near impossible to stop. O-Line has gotten better, healthy, Cade Otton is the piece that I’m not 100% sold on yet. Great blocker, and when he gets the ball he’s physical, but when they rotate a safety over him when they slide their coverage to Mike Evans side, he never gets open. With Godwin the slot king along with shepherd I’m hoping it will open not only Evans up more but Cade as well. Get 5 wide at the goal line and feet it to the big fellas. This is it for us to be honest. It’s superbowl or bust. Bowles will be fired if we do another early playoff exit, honestly anything less than a trip to the NFC championship game will be deemed a waste and they will clear house. Baker really started looking good too during that last push, I just hope he finally shows us he’s the baker that won the Heisman Trophy. Dude is solid but he’s gone through a lot of crap in his career. The flakey browns, the bottom of the barrel panthers, and if it wasn’t for the rams and him igniting a little something I don’t think he’d have a job right now. Since then, since that rally in LA, he’s looked better every week. And he deserves it, kid is a genuinely good dude. He puts so much time into game prep and film study and like I said, he’s been doing drills with some of the receivers at his house in the offseason. So, team wise, offense will be top 10 at worst. They will be firing the cannons non stop. Defense is a different story tho. Let’s start up front. Vea is the boss of that line, I’m not worried about him at all aside from staying healthy. Calijah Kancey looked like he had a lot of upside as a rookie last year. He can get off his block quickly and he has a great motor so he’s always going to be around the ball carrier. Let’s hope he turns it up this year and takes that step forward. Now.. Logan Hall and William Gholston rotating on the other d-end. I don’t like it. I wish we could have moved Shaq to the D Line instead of getting rid of him. When he played with his had in the dirt he led the league in sacks and damn near broke the single season record. Then for whatever reason Todd had him standing up, floating from left to right and dropping into coverage… that spelled the end of him in Tampa. On to linebackers now…. Devin White, I’m sorry but that was a terrible move letting him go. Him and David were one of the best One Two punches at inside LB. Fast, relentless, and white had a violent swagger to him. Brother can hit. Last year he missed quite a few tackles he should have made and then in coverage it freestyled it and tried to bare the QB and break off his assignment and switch coverage after the snap and he messed up coverages pretty bad in key situations. I like Britt but he’s not Devin white. Then we have my guy Yaya Diaby screaming off the edge. As a rookie last year, this dude was so good. He has a real knack where the ball is going and his first step is honestly one of the best I’ve seen in the league already. Came in late, sparingly played until the last few games and still got 7.5 sacks. Then we picked up the cold blooded QB disrupter Randy Gregory. His numbers were down since he left Dallas but he brings veteran experience to a young pass rushing group, I think he has enough in the tank to go all in this year. He was a handful in Dallas right when COVID came around. I think he proves doubters wrong and has a good year. 8 sacks maybe more. The guy with the super long name Joe-Tyron-supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. He will be the bench rotate player and honestly I thought he was gonna be an all pro once he settled down and got it figured out. He still shows flashes of greatness but at times he seems like an un potty trained puppy. Just full of the zoomies and then stops randomly to squat and pee because he’s excited. If they rotate him right, between Randy and Yaya, he should put up some respectable stats. If he can ever calm down and mature then we have a pro bowler on our hands. Now the part I’m super worried about, safeties are locked, Winfield Jr is my favorite person on the team and we got to bring whitehead back after he had a great year in New York with the Jets. Our corner situation scares me though. Dean at times gets lost in the sauce. He will be great all game then make a mistake at the worst time and let the other team get back in it. Zyon honestly seems more like a slot corner. He is coming into his third year with no interceptions and 9 PBU. He’s our number two now that we traded Carlton Davis which say what you will about the way he played and the penalties but he has great instinct and technique and was a game changer for us when healthy. It’s a loss we will feel for sure after that trade. Hopefully our top flight safeties make up for it. I’m hearing finally they will let Jr play the free in the middle like Ed reed and bring whitehead down in the box. I’ve been waiting for them to use Winfield right since he was drafted. Even in a position out of his element he still played it outstandingly. Wait till he gets to be the ball hawk we all know he can be. Overall if our defense can just get one stop a game, and our offense performs like it should on paper, we are a serious, serious, contender.
1:52 - I love how the second dude on commentary was in the moment and couldn't help himself from blurting "Run!" I wonder who he was, and if he had an "Oh sxit" 😳 moment. Like realizing that he's not exactly supposed to be showing partiality on commentary. Lol
Texan game was such a heart breaker. Baker brought the Bucs back, and the defense gave up 70+ yards in 46 seconds. smh. CJ is the best rookie drafted. Funny that Texan got CJ because Browns trader Baker late for DW and gave up bunch of draft picks the next few seasons.
& they got us going under 7 games this year 😮 smart man would put some money on bucs winning plus 7 games this year considering they brung everyone back and added great pieces in the draft and the most slept free agent pickup this offseason is Jordan whitehead return mark my words !! #firethosecannons
Resign Mayfield, Winfield, Evans, and David. Cut Shaq Barrett and let White walk. Then begin the process of improving on each side of the line. We might be able to get a decent third receiver from the rookies we have. But we have to get a great edge rusher (Jared Verse) and continue to re-build the OL and Secondary.
A lot of fans wanted to keep white. No way..dude wanted 100 million that's what he was pouting like a biotch about all season. He never should have had a C on his chest.
Devin White wanted a 💯,000,000 mill. Contract. Then he pouted all s4ason like a spoiled brat. K.J. Britt ckearly outplayed the slacking horse whisperer.
The funny part of it all is that they finally lost because they planned to be bad all along. Licht took all the cap medicine this year to reset, and they had a ton of dead money which meant they didn’t have much depth, and then when a couple defenders went out injured yesterday they couldn’t get stops. You’re right though, this is the biggest overachievement in team history. 2010 and 2005 are the only ones close to it.
Man we really should of beat the lions both times if basket didn't get the ball bat down in the first half for the 80yrd wide open wr for a td and if I'm not mistaken I think we had a drop pick too could of won the first lion game. The sec one we let them win smh to much blown coverage when it mattered especially long 3rd and longs.
Something I’ll never understand about my fellow Bucs fans is this and i hate to bring it up . Why some think Trask can be a starter on this team . I know Baker isn’t the wishful choice but he is the best choice out of the pack that was available at the time we picked him up.

Great season! Thanks for the great videos!
I agree with everything

2010 bucs was legendary i still remember that fun season
The 2021 season after the SB was one of the best seasons to me and this past season was really enjoyable. I loved how we put it together towards the end. This coming season we’re going to be something to deal with. Can’t wait!
Nice to see Winston making completions to some Buccaneers finally.
Winfield and Evans.... playmakers. Unreal.
Last season was electric. This culture they've built is special. GO BUCS!
Football is around the corner & the holidays 🔥
Every single game we lost we came so close to winning cant wait till next year🙏🏾🙏🏾😈😈😈😈
Holy moly Evans is a beast is mostly what i got from this video
Honestly this was my second favorite season of Bucs football I've witnessed, first the SB obviously
Which sb

Buccs are my second fav team to the Steelers so I subbed to see more videos love watching highlights of TDS
Winfield Jr is the MVP of our team. And now with him playing at free with whitehead back, I expect a lot more this year
This offense gonna go off this year
Mike Evans definitely deserves all that money on his BUCS contract. He’s getting so many balls into the end zone..
Tampa Bay has the talent to be a really good team

Gettin' better all the time...
“This has been a disaster!” You love hearing that when it’s your team causing the disaster
Mike Evans had a really great year
1:52 - I love how the second dude on commentary was in the moment and couldn't help himself from blurting "Run!"
I wonder who he was, and if he had an "Oh sxit" 😳 moment. Like realizing that he's not exactly supposed to be showing partiality on commentary. Lol

& they got us going under 7 games this year 😮 smart man would put some money on bucs winning plus 7 games this year considering they brung everyone back and added great pieces in the draft and the most slept free agent pickup this offseason is Jordan whitehead return mark my words !! #firethosecannons
No less than 10 in my opinion
Last year was an amazing football season 😂😂
That monster you got down there looking damn good to eat 😋😋

You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth
U was spot on right lol
Damn u called it. I was in agreement with u too.
Damn spot on lol
A lot of fans wanted to keep white. No way..dude wanted 100 million that's what he was pouting like a biotch about all season. He never should have had a C on his chest.
Man it hurts seeing that end of the lions game again. We were so close.
We are those guys
In Baker I trust!!!
Catch by Godwin at 9:11 is insane
0:00 thats what I want to see this season! Crush Cousins!
11:58 left tackle jumped early and Vita still annihilated him.
Mayfield definitely earned his Contract with the Bucs 🏴☠️
Devin White wanted a 💯,000,000 mill. Contract. Then he pouted all s4ason like a spoiled brat. K.J. Britt ckearly outplayed the slacking horse whisperer.
Oh yeah we had the Texans too... and they acting like the Texans are the new team to beat going to the SB
Super Bowl here we come eagles we will swash buckle them
Don't sleep on this team I got them winning 14 games
We lost b/c Liam Mitchell didn’t drop a pregame hype video
Go Bucs!!
What a season
Every sack of the 2023 szn???
How is Mike Evans so underrated
Something I’ll never understand about my fellow Bucs fans is this and i hate to bring it up . Why some think Trask can be a starter on this team . I know Baker isn’t the wishful choice but he is the best choice out of the pack that was available at the time we picked him up.
