Thank you for leaving in “virtually.” I love when things are more authentic and less edited or polished. We’re all people and we all do or say silly things. It’s soothing to see.
Edit: I wish all Q&As were just like this. Real, honest, great answers all around. I’m so impressed! It’s phenomenal content and a resource for any small business, farm owner, gardener and just homesteaders in general.

Just have to brag on you two for a moment. Do you know how much you have blessed my husband and I just in the Last month? First, about a month before it was scheduled, my husband, (out of love for me), allowed me to sign us up for your Succession Planting Workshop. Little did we know that, just days before it was scheduled, my husband lost his great full-time job. After the workshop, I remembered that I had bought your Small Business Workbook, "Small Business, Big Profits", and just this week we began going through it. MY, MY, is it helping us!!!
We are 70, and have been building the infrastructure to make our little acre farm productive, with the option of making it into a business. We are only a few pages into the content, and already the guide is helping us to brainstorm the option of us just designing a retirement business instead of him going back out into the employ of someone else. Thank you for your great content, and we covet your prayers as we pray and plan!!! Thank You, John and Julia

I appreciate the question and answer regarding organization, because, believe it or not at 70 I still struggle with it. (But that's the secret ... I struggle. I'm convinced that we learn until we die, and that in fact is what makes life worth living. You mentioned creativity, and I am a born artist, so one thing I discovered is that if I allow myself to plan for creative time, both within tasks, and special time just for satisfaction it's easier for me to do the mundane.

Your explanation of homesteading vs farmer made me think of me with people calling me a babysitter after I acquired a bachelor's degree in early childhood education/development and had a lot of valuable experience. I was a child care provider/teacher. Not a babysitter.
I would say you and others don't fit nearly in a box. I respect your desire to be seen as a small scale farmer. I do view you guys as homesteaders as I'm sure a lot of people do.

Wow a lot to process here. I remember when you were at the other farm. Wild seeing how far you guys have come. I am so amused about ur disconnect with the homesteader label. One of your 4 pillars is sour dough and another is intentional living n you don't want to be called or seen as a homesteader.
I agree with Nathan that it's your turn to get some customers. Nathan has stepped out of his comfort zone in so many ways, it's your turn. You can do it bc u r worthy. Besides the products should speak for themselves anyway as he said and a sample and a smile goes a long way. Maybe a babe on your breast or whatever but being authentic and genuine is all u need to get those wholesale customers. Besides someone needs what you have and maybe u will think of a customer he never would have or he never would have been able to get into like you. For example the vitamins, u had personal and relatable experiences that made you uniquely qualified. U have a unique experience and perspective, so think about that and find those wholesalers. Blessings to a safe and healthy birth of the baby. Stay blessed.
