Yea, it makes no sense that free cities just get strategic resource units without the required resources. It is also crummy that they get units based off the most advanced civ in the world and not based off the civ the city came from.
I notice you have a city called Bana-rama, not Banana-rama - so it celebrates Eric Bana, the fourth best live-action Hulk (behind Mark Ruffalo, Ed Norton and Lou Ferrigno...)
Oddly specific, in fact so specific its probably true
Switch Norton and Ferrigno, and I’d agree 🤷🏻♂️😅
Did Ed Norton really play Hulk? I've seen him only as Bruce Banner. I thought Hulk was portrayed by a different actor.
There were more than 2 live action hulks?
@@derorje2035 so Norton played Banner, they modeled that film’s Hulk on Norton’s appearance. But they still used Ferigno’s voice as Hulk’s so technically that Hulk was portrayed by BOTH Norton and Ferigno.
Which just solidifies my point that Ferigno is the superior hulk. 🤷🏻♂️😂
4:13 “Maybe burning down my capital is worth it.”
Since when did Nero rule the Mayans? Also, how’s your fiddle game?
Fun fact! Nero did not actually play the lyre while watching Rome burn, on account of literally being out of the city at the time. Like Marie Antoinette and her famous line, this appears to be a piece of propaganda.
@@raptorofwar4415 yes, but where’s the fun in that? Next are you going to tell me that Potato McWhiskey isn’t actually a miraculously animated tuberous root vegetable?
@@dragonmas444 what do you mean, he obviously is an animated tuberous root vegetable
Dramatic Age Gamemode really favors the warmongering playstyle, as it is the few ways that you can effectively farm Era Scores to stay in the Golden Ages.
Yeah, it might be interesting if you reworked “era score” into a sort of “popularity score” which you received by doing “good” things for your citizens like amenities, entertainment, culture, science etc… and lost for war, pollution, and strife. Would work nicely for this mod as being unpopular would lead to the dark age civil wars.
It's excruciating to watch this Let's Play, I can't imagine what it's like to play it! I've only played Zombie mode twice, and I was crushed both times, I don't know how to keep up with them.
I played *once* and got extremely lucky with my Capital (which I guess Zombies can't take) managing to block my second city *and* a city-state from being overrun by zombies.
So glad someone in chat mentioned well done steak is a travesty.
My favorite local steakhouse on the menu where it defines what Rare, Medium Rare, etc. for Well Done the caption is "Order Chicken"
Very appropriate!
Enjoying the series - it's fun to watch you scramble to ward off the chaos :)
Rare is my favorite, I want to see it bleed.
Well done meat is preferred for pregnant people and other at-risk groups though.
31:30 "Let's pop that out and pop it back in cause we're not really getting much out of it at the moment"
That's what she said.
So, there is a technique I call the Duncan dunk where in you microwave a steak and then finish it in a deep frier. If you know the right combination of times you can cook it to temp and surprisingly few people notice as long as you grill mark it.
That MMO clip is SO good. That made me realize: we need a Potato clip channel.
That videogam/cooking metaphor is spot on *chef's kiss*
man, the level of silliness that u can get is just amazing, I have fun everytime just watching u talking like a crazy man! ♪ Bananaramaaaa ~ Bananaramaaa ♪
The MMO I still play is Everquest. Been playing it for 20+ years.
If you had a microwave.
And a blowtorch.
Made me cry laughing.
do more stuff with Boes!
I agree with this if they have to availability too

The editing on the microwave argument at the end is mwah 🤌 chef's kiss perfection, Morbus deserves a raise
Potato basically summed up the video game industry with a steak metaphor.
36:33 Hol up! Was that real TierZoo?
Cool it IS a series now.
There's a really sexy tile to the east of your capital. So many yields unutilized!
There's a Zombie Balancing Mod called "Zombie Chill Pill" that helps. I honestly play with Zombies on all the time with that Mod on, because without it, Zombies have too high of a chance to spawn/respawn and mutate way too quickly (which might be desirable, just not for me). With it on, Zombies become a constant annoyance rather than a constant major focus/distraction, which allows you to play other game modes and win conditions without constantly having to have focus on the Zombies.
Thats one thing I like about playing with other people. Instead of it popping up, you can just ignore the notification and boom, no grievances or anything for breaking a promise because you never saw it.
I feel that Taj Mahal should always be a priority when using dramatic ages mode. Having it would make it so so much easier to avoid dark ages!
Microwaving a steak turns it into rubber! Like chewing on a superball!
the game industry-microwave-stake rant made me spit my soda , you win this time.
Poundmaker: "You settled too close."
White guy: "Shut up, you. This is my land."
As an American, I took actual historical cringe damage from that.
The Irish get a pass, because they're basically in the same boat when it comes to the colonialism stuff.
Half your empire... Imagine having to waste your units on a one pop city b/c its in a strategic location, but finding out you can't raze it. I had to go to war with Arabia for this XD.(Incas stronk)
I am pretty sure there used to be a zombie survival Mode in Civ5 where zombies taking over cities meant they turn the city into a "spawner" (really they just build units from it) ... Don't know maybe you can still dig that up and try it out ...
6:51
I have a strange feeling of wanting to listen to the Doors. xD
“Mee-cro-wah-vay?” Leave Nigella alone!
“Maybe it’s worth it to burn down my capitol.”
Potato's favorite games are Kirby Super Star and Chrono Trigger, I'm calling it.
"You can't microwave a steak to being well done" why would you ever want a well-done steak?
Because raw steak is disgusting.
Another awesome video. Thank Mr McWhiskey :)
That Vampire Castle outside the capital borders is killing me
You don't work those tiles they are just added to your capital automatically.
Microwaves were invented as part of cryogenic experimentation to revive frozen hamsters in the 60es. Amazing fact: it actually works, you can freeze a hamster and revive it later with a microwave. Sadly, the process doesn't scale up. Though luck, Walt Disney. Tom Scott has a video about it.
"Do you know what city needs a trade route? It's Sussy Baka"

quote of the day: "don't play Civ with your friends. The yogscast is a secret factory to develop grudges" hehehe
your Fun/Time graph has me rolling on the floor keep it up. Punchy. Good. Laughs.
"I'll show you a graph....loook.....I failed maths....grrrr..."
OMG the one-liners! "you can't microwave the problem away" Bruh...I"m in stitches.
Simple rub, iron skillet, touch of olive oil, cook accordingly; Don't forget your potatoes. ;)
You can make zombie corps, and armies as well
This happened to America in one of my playthroughs, the ages changed and BOOM! 3 of their 7 cities rebelled.. They got one back but the other two were too close to me... lol
Of course I'll join, I've always been here!

chainspawning zombies. it's a thing.
Right now zombie mode feels like a meme instead of a game mode
I feel like apostles could give a combat strength bonus against zombies to units in 3 tile radius just like generals do for normal units
A new pantheon or tenet for ''sanctification'' of your lands like zombies does not spawn in 6-8 tiles radius from your holy sites
Zombies being destroyed making more zombies makes no sense
your idea of a zombie emergency sounds very cool
If you are ever going to well done a steak, you may as well just microwave it...
Turn 154: Finally, that second vampire castle was outside borders and not being worked for like 100 turns since last game.
Vampire castles automatically apply their yields to your capital. You don't need them in your borders.
@@preatorantrax I wish you had told me this 100 turns ago :)
They put it in the microwave and then say, "We fixed it. Now pay us $5.99."
Would’ve made sense to burn forests very early on when you had very little population I guess
The microwaving of frozen hamsters is in fact true.
Came for the Civ, stayed for the FFXIV commentary

I can microwave the problem away. Yes I can!
Free cities getting max tech is always stupid. It’d be like some Aztecs getting pissed off and magically getting smooth bore muskets just because the Chinese happened to make a gunpowder halfway across the world a few years before
Did I see the "TIERZOO" become a member at 36:33??
yup
Holy crap this episode and series in general is Hungarian bat shit crazy!!
WAIT DID TIERZOO JOIN THE CHANNEL?
Apparently the hamster microwave lore is real? Wtffff
Its not earning the promotion - its when you take a promotion _after the first_
What was that Song... isnt that ironic? -> isnt that chaotic?
There is an argument in favour of your revolting cities spawning man-at-arms, but I don't know if the developers really considered this as the reason: the units that spawn when the city revolts could be thought of as the army of whatever faction ousted your rule. Historically, it might be a peasant revolt, but the American revolution managed to field troops with actual weapons and a bit of training. I guess the argument is that whatever group is funding this (separatists, unhappy nobles, etc.) has been secretly amassing the resources necessary to supply the army. Under the table shady deals, not formal deals between governments, so its hidden from you. I'm not sure I like that though, it seem kind of hand-wavey. It'd be cool if that was an aspect of the spy's foment unrest action though; if you could funnel resources or money in to cause larger/more serious revolts.
Tom Scott has a nice video on that hamster Reanimation micowave lore.
Badmouthing AoE2 is it now?
I'm sure I could change your mind if I were to... *_Wolololo_*
Apparently 90% of spuddies click random techs with no rhyme or reason lmao
why would you want a steak well done? NOPE

I don't think he's winning this game guys
I like civ better than humankind. Then again that's purely from watching humankind not playing it
humankind is more fun to play imo
they just need to fix the scaling and late game and it will be 👌
Anyone ordering a well done steak deserves it to be microwaved... pfft, well done steak, get out of here with that noise.
You can't cook steak in a microwave at all. It comes out tasting like ass. Never ever ever cook beef of any kind in the microwave.
Nah you have to take the steak home and over a month the cook will come cook your steak 10 seconds at a time until it is fully cooked
Rare steak is the correct steak
Yes, we have no production
Donald Trump likes his steak well done with a side of ketchup...
And that's all I need to say about well done steaks.
