    I respect the brand and like their engineering. As you said a lot of watch for the price. I can see a Formex in my future. Great review. Thank you

    1:28. It serves a purpose which is to deflect things away that could pop off the removable bezel.

    I like the watch. I have too many watches already-maybe I need to slow down on watch RUclips content 🤔? Great review Oleg and best regards.

    Nice video. I like the quick change bracelet system, it would have been nice to see drilled lugs. I have mixed feelings about the case on how it bulges out at the 9 o’clock.. for me the Oris Aquis remains king of dive watches. Please say hello to Bond for me.

      Not quite sure why you would need drilled lugs if the bracelet has a quick release system??

    Hmm isn't there a quick adjust on the rubber strap clasp? Great video!

    Great review Oleg. At first I must confess that I felt the watch was over priced, but the more you covered the specs and technical details I now feel that Formex does offer a lot a watch for the money. I really like it, and being an Engineer I appreciate the design and engineering that has been put into this watch. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day my friend 👍

    Oleg - which do you think has better finishing - the Monta Skyquest or Formex Reef GMT?

    • @jodysilvia2
      @jodysilvia2 2 года назад

      Monta 100%

      The brushing is heavier/courser on the Reef but I feel that better matches the style of the brushed bezel and sunburst dial. Both are very well finished.

    I didn’t hear mention of what type of GMT the watch is.

      Caller not traveller. You only have to google the movement to find out.

    Have formex ever thought to really integrate this bracelet to the case??
    First three or four links wider to a nice taper.

    • @thegorn
      @thegorn Год назад

      It tapers 22mm to 20mm over the first few links. A Black Bay Heritage 41mm tapers from 22mm to 18mm, but a 4mm taper on a bigger watch dial causes a watch to wear a bit more top-heavy and induce dial flop. A 2mm taper keeps a bit more weight underside so that top and bottom are better balanced. I only like 4mm tapers on watches that are around 38-40mm using a 20mm to 16mm taper since the watch dials aren't as heavy they can get away with it. The bracelet on this one is well executed.

    42mm IS BIG. Why do most GMT watches look like dive watches? I'd like to see more with internal 24hr indices and no bezel. A third time zone isn't necessary for most people.

      It's not big. You're small.

      Since your arm is flat-cylindrical, width is actually the worst determinant of size. Height and lug-to-lug are much better indicators, and on both those counts it's actually quite compact. But if it's still too big then start going to the gym as Formex is a brand by Chads for Chads :P

    great review as aways my friend....I do like this very much, out of my current price category....from all the formex reviews I've seen they make exceptionally good quality....my only complaint is the name but I understand why it is that so they should get a pass....🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚

      The word "Formex" is not unlike "Rolex". Both sound fine to me. Only the logo was an issue personally but they've fixed that up nicely.

    Thanks for the review. Is it a true or office GMT?

    • @thegorn
      @thegorn Год назад

      There are no true GMTs as none of them do half hour offsets - important for many timezones (well there is an Oris movement but it is rare). It is a caller GMT rather than traveller GMT.

      Unlike the Patek Nautilus, it actually serves a practical purpose of protecting the bezel from knocks which could flip it off as it's removable. It's well thought out and I kinda dig that quirkiness.

      "Tudor" sounds like "tumor". "Rolex" sounds like cigarette papers, shade cloth or a brand artificial turf. It's all about brand familiarity and what you get used to.
