I love that even if I wouldn’t personally buy each watch that you review, I always get a good feel for what makes them special or different. Not always the case with reviews. Thanks for yet another awesome vid!
You make the watches you feature genuinely compelling. I take your opinion quite seriously because it’s logical and suits my taste to. Your videos are ‘for me’
Seriously mate, you just have away about you that makes these reviews so very interesting to watch. Down to earth, no BS. Keep it up. Oh and the watch looks killer!
You might just be the best watch channel on RUclips. Production is high, selection is broad and the jokes are dryer than the Sahara. My kind of jokes! Keep it up man!
Finally, someone who also understands that while I might want a GMT hand, I may also want the 60 minute timing bezel. Its an amazing watch and I really have a hard time deciding between this and the Christopher Ward Aquitaine GMT. One has the looks, the other has the amazing technology. Also, great review dude. You are now my favorite watch reviewer, you get the specs out but also address the subjectivity of each piece.
A...ma...zing! I've said it before, and you can be damn sure I'll say it again... You reviews are out of this world. The puns, the camera work, the honestly and your views on things are just great! By the way since last time where I attempted to hijack your comment section, I've followed my heart and committed to ordering the Formex Thirtynine 👍
You could review a spoon with a hole in it and I would still watch your review. Because you are funny and your reviews are entertaining. Thanks for doing this. Looking forward to the next ones.
Another cracking review. I have a Formex Field in purple which I bought it because it was purple so thank the Lord that I saw it before I saw there Code 1159 in purple, otherwise it could have been a different story. Anyway, I had an issue with the winding mechanism after six months of ownership and rather than wait for them to repair it, Formex swapped the watch for a replacement which has been perfect since. Fantastic stealth brand with excellent customer retaining service.
The Vostok Amphibia is one of the few other watches with a quick removal bezel. I really enjoy the feature as I can switch colors/functions and it greatly improves the look of the watch. Im away from home for 4 months and having so many options helps when I dont have my collection with me.
I agree that the bezel might pop off too easily and could be lost. My Marathon Navigator’s bezel pops off with similar ease. Ive had it pop off by doing simple tasks like reaching into a shelf or loading/unloading my car. An interchangeable bezel is great for looks, bad for durability.
It's 42mm as you said it correctly but at the beginning of the video you wrote 40mm but it doesn't matter. The quality of your videos are great. I've been watching watch content on RUclips for more than a year now, but everytime I came across a video from your channel just because of the name of the channel I thought this was a tech reviewing channel that sometimes reviews watches but I was so wrong, it's one of the best watch review channels and the content and quality are really good. I will be watching more of your content and I'm happy that I've found your channel. Keep up the good work.
The production quality of your videos is so impressive man! Is this Pismo Beach off US 100? I always cherished whenever I got that route as a truck driver. Absolutely incredible views.
Great video as always! Thank you. I’m amazed at just how much this watch delivers for the money. It makes you wonder just how much profit the bigger brands are making. It would be interesting to know whether materials used in the watch are on par with the bigger brands. Is there a metallurgist in the house? As it is the video is a real eye opener and almost a wallet opener!
I would very sad indeed. I know this because I get a "feeling" every time I see that your new video has dropped. It's always so exciting. I know I'm going to learn something new about this absurd hobby that I love, and I'll be entertained at the same time! Please don't ever stop. Think of the weirdo's like me.
Your continued ability to feed this unhealthy addictive hobby is impressive. Another great one, well done. Minor note: the on screen Watch specs shows 40mm instead of 42. Figured you would want to know. Apologies for putting this In the comments but I don’t know another way. Feel free to delete it. I won’t be hurt ( okay, maybe a little)
I think Formex kills it lately with all their tech, Chronometer certified movements and extremely compelling prices. I already liked the Reef but actually bought the Reef GMT after your review when I noticed the perfect lug-to-lug size for my 6.5 inch wrist. Thanks... I guess? 🙈
Have never even considered Formex. Until 2 minutes from now, when I finish writing this post, I hadn't even been to their website. Wonder why? Do the traditional watch "media" not cover them? Did I just miss that coverage? Am I a noob? No, I'm not a noob. Boob? Maybe. Noob? No. Anyway, color me interested. This is a unique and interesting offering. Thanks for sharing.
I'm buying one. This type of engineering at this price point for real Swiss made and real Swiss engineering is embarrassing to bigger brands. And I own Rolex, GS, Omega, TAG, Hermes & Sinn...
Just met these folk at WindUp NYC. Superb convos, watches same. Purchased a 39 whatchamanamit. Love it- question is, what’s next from them to slap on my girl wrist
Evan, what a beauty. Formex seem to be a forward thinking brand. If I didn’t have a dozen or so dive watches already…. Problem? Weird… what… Me…? I gotta go, Mums calling… Can I borrow some money please mummy…😬
I don't know man.. nice looking watch all things considered, but the removable bezel is just a cheap trick to me. It's like selling a car with the option that you can pop out and change the windscreen on your own. Why would anyone do that?
Amazing looking watch. At 42mm, it's too big for my personal taste (and skinny wrists) but as a proud owner of an Essence 39, I can certainly vouch for their quality and features that punch way above their price point and put other brands to shamd. If this comes in a 39/40mm variant, my wallet is not going to be happy with me
hi I enjoy your channel a lot .. would this Formex stand with a Monta or Tudor? I am looking for a luxury sports everyday watch. My current stable includes a rolex sub, grand seiko sbgx261 and a bunch of seiko divers. Thanks for your feedback
Mike, if you only knew how ridiculously long it takes RUclips to upload 4k content. It takes several several hours just to decode and process and then another several hours to finally upload. So pretty much, half a day lol. But it totally hear ya man. 4k would be pretty awesome, may not be worth the trade off for some though.
Formex stands for form extreme, but the bezel popping of so easily doesn't reflect that in my opinion. Maybe keeping the design where it easily comes off but adding the additional small screws like Sinn does would give us the option to loosen the small screws and replace the bezel. The cost of a little extra time would be worth not paying $200 for a lost bezel.
0:51 Do you still wear your blue everest band with your batman GMT? In the past few months, whenever you've worn it, I've noticed that it's always on the bracelet. I'm considering purchasing one for my batman so that's why I ask. In the long run, am I just gonna end up going back to the bracelet?
Horological huskiness indeed. But I do worry that it may be a tad too big. And the name Formex sounds like an insect repellent. Or a Formosan Rolex knock-off. Still that mesh bracelet and gilt dial are whispering in my ear. Oh, and the warranty. Apparently this used to be three years, but now their website simply says: "Our warranty covers defects or malfunctions, such as manufacturing defects or movement malfunctions, that occur without external influence. In such a case, you can return the watch and we repair or replace it free of charge." Can that be possible?
Your production talent is just unreal, keep it up buddy.

Thanks so much.
Ever since Formex came up with their improved logo, they've really managed to stay on my radar. One of the cooler microbrands out there.
The Band of Brothers reference was not lost on me. Clever. As usual, terrific video and review!
You make the watches you feature genuinely compelling. I take your opinion quite seriously because it’s logical and suits my taste to. Your videos are ‘for me’
Thanks for the vid, always first rate! just a note: you state the case size as 42mm but list it as 40mm in text on screen.
Seriously mate, you just have away about you that makes these reviews so very interesting to watch. Down to earth, no BS. Keep it up. Oh and the watch looks killer!

Great review! This watch is terrific value for money, both aesthetically and technically! Love your commentary, the humour is first rate! Well done!
this is easily the best review of this watch that I've seen... well done

Stunning video! Always a pleasure to watch your work even if I may not be that interested in the watch you are reviewing! Please keep it up!
Looks like a cloudy English beach, didn’t realise they had those elsewhere. Cool watch, lots of features. Enjoyed the video as always 👍
This looks like an Oregon beach
@@robertjimenez1611 that's what i thought as well.
That was way better viewing than the Pelagos 39 marketing vids. Decent watch, too.

Glad you got the gold one. I never would have considered it, but it looks great. Super visuals as usualEvan 🙌🏻
Great review!! Been eyeing these watches for a while and I really like in the mesh bracelet.
Been hoping you'd make a Reef GMT video since it came out, this one's definitely on my short list!
The Vostok Amphibia is one of the few other watches with a quick removal bezel. I really enjoy the feature as I can switch colors/functions and it greatly improves the look of the watch. Im away from home for 4 months and having so many options helps when I dont have my collection with me.
I saw these in person at Windup Watch Fair. Impressive and a cut above the rest, at a reasonable price. I wish more people would check them out.
Funny name aside, I've always thought highly of Formex designs and build quality. The bezel quick change is just brilliant.
Never seen a watch with removable bezel. Pretty cool, but like you said I would be worried it would pop off if you hit it on anything. Nice video!
All rotating bezels are removable.
@@toddgaak422 not this easy to remove though

Good catch I saw that too. I wonder if maybe the bezel is 40 but the wings on both sides makes it 42. Just a thought
Love your shacket (?)/ overshirt too! Really like this watch, great that it has microadjust on the fly- though I’d definitely lose a bezel I think
The production quality of your videos is so impressive man! Is this Pismo Beach off US 100? I always cherished whenever I got that route as a truck driver. Absolutely incredible views.
Different cinematography to your usual. As always brief honest review. 👍

best review of the reef gmt out there! not only because you put the dive bezel on it :)
Looks great. I really like those applied indices.
Beautifully shot video!
Your best intro and outro till date.

“For me” is unofficially trademarked here 👌🏼
I know Nomos is not a "small" brand but i feel the same way when wearing my Nomos :p
Nice watch and smart adjust bracelet👍
Finally a really tempting watch with swiss movement.
It's a safety feature known in the biz as a "breakaway bezel". It keeps corpses from piling up in the Swatch store doorway.
How have I never seen your content before this

Just got the black dial with the dual color bezel! Definitely not cheap but the fit and finish along with the features more than justify the price.

Hi good review! what's your wrist size Please?
Formex stands for form extreme, but the bezel popping of so easily doesn't reflect that in my opinion.
