    THANKS for this latest E-CELLS review! I own this "beast". Got it in March, 2023 for hunting in Nevada where "covering ground" is the name of the hunting game. With me, my rifle and survival pack weighing about 230 pounds I need that 400 pound load limit to carry out boned-out big game meat. This bike is quiet and permits big game hunters to get much closer to game than an ATV.
    MY CHARGING SETUP-> 1.) BLUETTI AC200 MAX lithium iron phosphate power center 2.) Off Grid TREK solar blanket (to keep the BLUETTI charged) The solar blanket is cable locked to the roof racks of my SUV with its wires running into the trunk to charge the BLUETTI During the day this keeps my cooler running. At the end of the day I charge my E-CELLS with the BLUETTI.
    Also the system can serve in home power outage emergencies in, say, a zombie apocalypse.

      @ericb.4358 Год назад +1

      @@jkyles1000 I have not tested this bike's batteries real world max range yet but from my trail riding I have extrapolated that I can get about 35 TRAIL miles using level 6 pedal assist most of the time. That is WITHOUT a 400 pound load. With a load of boned-out deer meat plus me, rifle and survival day pack I figure maybe 25 trail miles which is 3 times the distance I would normally travel when hunting anyway
      With my BLUETTI AC200 MAX lithium iron phosphate power center to charge my bike which is itself charged by an Off Grid TREK 220 watt solar blanket I'm sure of a constant power supply to charge the bike. The solar blanket is cable locked to my CX-5 roof rack.During the day I ran a cooler with no loss of battery charge.

      To 50% battery level I can go 30 miles on pavement. OFF road and rough trails cuts that in half.I used it for antelope hunting in 2023 and it performed very well. I was able to cover huge amounts of territory for scouting.

    I don't see any other bike out there that does what Ecells does, maximum cargo, maximum off road, maximum range!! I have this bike, raised the bars 12 inches for long range comfort, added front basket! I was carrying a Miata car battery in the front basket last week, IN THE RAIN, had 3 cases of nutritional drinks, my last mile and a third is rough off road 5" holes with 5" rocks, 31 mile trip!! I get home smiling after 3 hours, range meter accurately says 10 miles left, NOBODY IS DOING LIKE ECELLS!! thanks Dave and the Ecells Team!!!

      @mr.monitor. Год назад

      @@BN99239 that has nothing to do with separation of autos from bikes with or without batteries. If a rider has a weight 300 lbs plus gear pedaling down a hill 30+ mph on a regular bike, is it going to matter if the bike is 40 lbs heavier or happens under battery power on flat ground? Don't compare a 4000 lbs vehicle 60+ mph to a 100 to 400 lb bike going 40 😅 750 watts will not get you over about 25 in perfect conditions so as long as you follow the rules nobody has to be a Karen.

    • @BN99239
      @BN99239 Год назад

      @@mr.monitor. But that is the problem. Not everyone follows the rules. That's why we have people enforcing them. Yeah, regular bikes can go fast still, but the thing is that not many people tend to ride that fast because it takes more work. An ebike weighing 80lbs can easily go 30+ mph on throttle input alone, so it's easier for someone to go at that speed. You're also taking the heavier end of riders. Most riders are 150lbs to 200lbs. Yes, it makes a difference when an 80lb bike hit you compared to a 25lb road bike hitting you at 30mph+. There are many bikes with 2000 watts, why are you limiting to just 750 watts?

    dual hub motors could become the future of ebikes with progress in power density and heat management, reliable non plastic gears, each hub could be lightweight and it would be possible to have different gearing front rear with smart controller to optimize efficiency and improve torque like on Tesla's, and torque sensors. an ebike that doesn't need pedalling and will do 200miles at ebike speeds(under30mph) already exists it's called an electric motorcycle.
      what's your expected use, bike packing? we're talking about 7-8hours of riding near the 28 mph ebike speed limit, realistically even more, like 9-10 hours. you should probably be probably more concerned with comfort, riding position,seat, grips, mounting points for luggage reliability, maintenance etc. other wise , you should look for the biggest battery options, dual and/or spare(s) battery if possible, mid drive motor for efficient climbing if you're planning to do significant elevation. you should also look for fast 300+W charger , because if you make a 1-1.5hour break you can get significant additional range from a fast charger that will plug in any standard 110v outlet. even a high power one will still weigh way less than a battery.
      grin's cycle satiator is 8A/360W and only 1kg
      it's safe to fast charge a battery until 80% you can program the charge to stop or it will slow down anyway.

      @@bindingcurve maybe but many people overestimate their range requirements
      once you think realistically how long you're going to sit on a bike at most, your cruising speed (28mph is too much on a bike path with traffic or on. city bike lanes), the ability to charge the battery at your destination, and the elevation, you don't necessarily need the longest range. some will do long commutes with empty bike lanes, long straights, or roads with fast moving cars that will ask for high speeds, but it's a minority

      yep philodo H8 seems impressive value. 2x1000W bagang, 1050Wh. this one has 55% more battery capacity, and it will be useful if you're using two motors and throttle/high assist mode, and it has dual suspension, much higher end Shimano deore 10 speed shifter. the monarch is somehow targeted for hunters, like a 2 wheel ATV...
      philodo is a hardtail so better to pedal on the road but it's less refined overall. contrôler and battery are not integrated in the frame

    The speed limit on public roads is for protecting the ebike riders. Ebikes are generally heavy and those that can go above 30mph are usually in the 80lbs+ range. Ebike owners are also not enforced to wear full gear, such as full face helmet, body armor, elbow/knee pads etc. Heck, where I live, it's not even enforced that regular pedal bikes are required to wear a helmet. It's because of all of these factors combined that make it illegal to ride an ebike over 30mph on public roads, since an accident can literally kill the rider. Now, if they require full face helmet and protective gears for ebikes over 30mph then that would be the best case scenario, but then it's going to come down to well if ebikes can go this fast already, then what differentiates that from motorcycles? Might as well require a motorcycle license at that point because you're keeping up with regular traffic speeds, which means you NEED to know how to drive and have a license etc.
