Whats the name of the tool you use to remove the break line from the caliper

The brake line is held in place by a screw, you need a torx security bit or torx security screwdriver.

Hey Lantea, I hope everything is going well. I have a KQI2 pro, and I love all your videos abt it. I binge watched them before I bought mine. I have had them for around a week now, and I have one small problem. When I use them for the first time in the day (in the morning for example), the brakes always seem to be not working very well. I have to use the scooter for around 2 minutes and constantly apply the brakes to “wake up” the brakes and then after a couple of minutes the brakes are back on 100% functionality. Is this normal? Have you experience this or know how to fix it?

Hey, happy to hear the videos helped you out. I did notice the same break behaviour after a while, especially when you need to break right after a full charge and your drum brake is not adjusted for strong braking. The behaviour is caused because the scooter does not use electronic braking in the back motor until you discharge the battery a little bit, for me its usually few hundred meters of riding. At first I did not even notice this since I don't usually need to use the brake for a while before leaving my home, and by the time I used it the scooter was already discharged a bit and it worked as it should; that is why I did not mention it in the review.
So its not really a fault, but rather the way NIU set-up the electronic brake to protect the battery when its fully charged. Best advice is to try and tighten the drum brake so its a bit more effective when the electronic brake is not in use, and ride a bit more cautiously for the first few hundred meters after a full charge. You can adjust it same way you would on a bicycle. I have also read a while back that NIU might have addressed this in a newer firmware version, but can't confirm that is the case.

@@Lantea13 Such a helpful response! And it makes a load of sense. I had a feeling that one of my brakes wasn't working, and it makes sense that the electronic break wasn't turned on after a full charge. I'm glad that you clarified that it's not a fault. I was worried about the scooter. I still hope that they are able to fix it in the firmware update, since I don't think they have fixed it yet.
And I have a bike but I've never adjusted the drum brake before. Is it easy? And is there a specific thing I should search up on youtube, or is "how to tighten an electronic scooter drum brake," good enough? And do you have any videos where you went over this by any chance?
Thanks again for the super quick and in-depth reply!

@@Michael-lb3hh So far that is not something I covered in a video, but this NIU guide should help you niumobility.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/43000671133-how-to-adjust-kqi2-brake-tightness if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hello. This video is very helpfull and i have a question if you don’t mind.
The banjo bolt of this zoom brake has 3 o-rings.
2 of them have the same size. I believe they are 7mm diameter with 1,5 mm thick.
And the third? The smaller one in the end of the connection to the caliper. It gas a smaller diameter and seems thicker.
Can you tell de dimensions, please??
    Thanks

Hi, the o-ring on the end (right side here ruclips.net/video/iaf0kMCa6n0/видео.html) is the one I tried to replace and when I measured it, it was 7 mm outer diameter, 4 mm inner diameter, 1.5 mm cross-section diameter; as for the other two o-rings that are between the metal spacers more to the left, I did not try replacing those as I was not able to easily take them off the banjo screw. I believe I still have the parts from the zoom brake somewhere around here, so if you need me to try and measure something else let me know. But in the end I just gave up on the leaking calipers and installed NUTT hydraulic brakes. From day one they were a lot better that zoom, and so far I had no problems with them. A full set was around $115, iirc.

@@Lantea13 is there any chance you could tell me the dimensions for the 2 o-rings that you couldnt remove? the ones i got off are a bit flat so i cant measure off of those exactly. thank you.

I have a question I dont know if you can help lol. But I have the Roadhitter by Zondoo, and I replaced the full brake lines front and rear on my scooter, it took hours for me. But for some reason the front caliper would not fit in place, like it would go on anywhere except for the spot to be screwed in, so I had to just reuse my old caliper that was working.
But what really happened is I took out the security screw and it ended up snapping inside, do you know what to do? As far as getting something snapped inside a hole thats threaded out or getting a new caliper

You could try to get out the broken screw with a screw extraction kit. Just search "screw extraction kit" on amazon or local hardware store and get the right size for the broken screw you need to extract.
