these were great live, saw them with Circa Survive in London. A band which I hadn't heard of before, but had a good evening listening to them... amazing vocalist live!

The video is completely awesome! The production and idea are totally great. But about the song... I'm kinda missing the "indie" feeling (and the explosive choruses), like its becoming a pop band. I'm pretty sure its gonna be a masterpiece anyways, but still afraid bout that
Yeah this song definitely feels poppy but it still has the From Indian Lakes charm you know? Sleeping Limbs sounds a little more like the old stuff if that helps. I'm stoked either way

Choruses are the devil.
Indie literally just means independent. Don't know quite how that could really be a sound buttt that aside they've realized a strength in their overall sound is how smooth the tones are so they've gone further in that direction.
Ian Maclay Indie may have originally meant "independent", but now it refers to a specific "sound" that is associated with bands that are commonly labelled as "indie". Believe me, I spent years as a teenager debating the "definitions" of labels like "punk" and "emo" before I realized they're just words and they take on the meaning of however people use them.

What do the guys painted yellow represent?
I'm not entirely sure, but from a literary perspective, yellow has always been associated with the color of cowardice, anxiety, fear, etc. (one good example of that is "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman). Considering what the lyrics of the song is saying, maybe the guys painted yellow could be how anxiety and cowardice takes you off guard and out of your element?
