So I feel the song is about a sociopath trying to love and be normal but realizing he can't and it's freaking him out.
Don't even have to be a Sociopath for it to happen. Being mentally ill (bipolar, schizophrenia, ETC) or neurodivergent can place you in this spot as well with out even intending too. When you're not getting the help you need its too easy to slip away from reality. You do stupid shit you never would have done on meds and therapy to people you love. It's part of why there's so many homeless mentally ill. I mean according to a study from Harvard University about 1/3rd of the United States Homeless are mentally ill individuals.
