    Man I love your videos so much and just don't understand why you don't have hundreds of millions of subscribers!!!! People are really missing out on your content. Always so great and family friendly, which is not a concern of mine but still appreciated, and most of all incredibly hilarious. All the details you give about the cars and what they need or don't need is just really helpful to a lot of people just getting into RC as well. You're just all around great for the RC community.

      A new ESC would allow it to run on 3s if you went for higher amperage.

    Another amazing effort! I do not know how you do it! Not sure what camera you are rolling with but if its an option investing in a shotgun mic addon for outdoor stuff and also in talking head shots will go a long way. They are not too expensive, nor are lapel mics which will make recording off screen a lot better too! Shame about the tires on the 903, some of mine actually broke the inner spoke bits, they did not last long! Oh well at least there are lots of great alternatives!

    • @DerbyCityRC

      Thanks!
      Funny you mention the microphone as I just got a new one for this next video I’m working on and it’s terrible. Some of the workbench scenes sound awful so I turned the volume down quite a bit and won’t be using it anymore. I currently just use my iPhone 12, but will be upgrading to the 15 soon. The iPhone 15 camera seems excellent but I would rather have something different, but I’m not impressed by the GoPro 11 video quality and it needs to be able to strap to my head lol.
      Any recommendations for a camera and microphone for that camera or a mic for the iPhone? That’s where I’m struggling. New editing computer and software coming soon for sure. Oh and merch!!

      @@DerbyCityRC Yeh its a bit of a minefield finding good recording gear. Ive got a GoPro 9 and while I am not completely satisfied with the picture quality, it does have an addon for a good mic. HOWEVER. I just got a DJI camera drone (next vid, don't tell anyone!) and the camera on that is superb it makes the GP look bad, so to take a little extrapolative guess, maybe have a look at the DJI cameras? I got a "Purple Panda" lavalier mic and its been good tho I have not used it much yet! I'm sure you will figure it out! Ill be interested to see which one you go with. An editing PC will be awesome too, though don't be disheartened if it slows you down at first with the wealth of options it brings!! Best of luck!!

    Not sure if you've done it already, but now that you've done the 903a platform against the 2996a and also against the 16889a. Have you considered pitching the 2996a against one of your other favourites the 16889a, thus completing the hbx comparison triangle? Just for fun as much as scientific curiosity.

      Yes the 903 body will fit, but you do have to drill different holes in the body. For the rear, you could also flip the body mount post 180° so that the new holes are not too close to the original holes of the body. The body reamer in this kit here will give much better results than a drill. amzn.to/3V6DbOi

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  10 месяцев назад

      I don’t have a consistent problem with that, no. The servo saver is really just a spring tightened down by a screw. Maybe check that the screw is fully tightened, which compresses the spring the proper amount. Otherwise, it’s pretty normal to have to adjust the steering trim on the remote sometimes. I do definitely want a stronger servo on mine but haven’t looked into which one yet.

    So funny, think I remember using the word “dingus” when I was a kid😝!
    Think it means : [din-gus]: minion of who which doesn’t know of which they are coming or going. Used in a sentence; My brother is such a [dingus]! 😆
    Now I have both of these in brushed form and I do also have a brushless 901a.
    I really like both, but in brushed form, when having to choose between the 2995 and the 903 I would pick the 903 over the big heavy 2995. It, to me is funner to drive. In brushless form, I can see that center diff definitely improving reliability. But for performance and being funner to drive to me, I think I would still go with the 901a of course not wearing those big oversized monster truck tires which puts stress on its diffs. Maybe a tire slightly in between would be perfect. Of course I say this knowing full well I don’t drive my trucks quite as hard as you do. That center diff should be on the 901a and 903a models! What wet those dingus’s at HBX thinking!👊🏼👍🏻🙌🏼 Great video brother!

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  10 месяцев назад +1

      lol I’ve been using that name for a while lol. It’s a good one and that word meaning certainly does describe that kid 🤣.
      It’s been a while since I’ve driven my 903 as it kinda became a parts car lol
      However I do remember it being fun. The 2995 in stock is certainly pretty boring, but I’d choose the 2996a over any of the other hbxs, including the 16889a pro, though that one, being lighter, is a bit more durable. I would love to see them add the center diff to the 901/3 chassis and the next 16 fhat comes out! Lol

    I have been thinking about the 1/10 vs 1/12 scale thing a bit, if a 1/10 scale truck is derived from let's say a 1989 Toyota Hilux it will be 1/10 the size of said 1989 Hilux, if a 1/12 scale truck is derived from let's take a 2003 Ford Bronco it will be 1/12 the size of the Ford Bronco which might make it the same size as the 1/10 scale 1989 Toyota Hilux or perhaps even bigger. If all the 1/10 or 1/12 scale trucks or cars were the same size, they would not be true to scale.

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  10 месяцев назад +1

      I definitely agree with you. But these two cars are derived from the same category (pickup truck) lol. Body shells are the same size. But I’ve actually said it before, China has more smaller cars than the US. Big diesel trucks are so common here so China scales are bound to be smaller than the US based companies.

      @philiprccars4340 10 месяцев назад

      @@DerbyCityRC Yes, I was wondering why my HBX and MJX 1/16 scale trucks are not the same size, then I thought that the HBX might be derived from something like a little Nissan monster truck while the MJX might be derived from a Ford Ranger, hence the difference in size between them.

      Not it’s only on Banggood. However Amazon has the even newer and in my opinion better version. Check this video out: ruclips.net/video/9mef2vZL-eY/видео.htmlsi=vtLXQpfozybH41Iu

    I see that I am also more in favour of RC trucks like you because they are simply better suited for more terrains than buggies are.

      Are you talking about the hubs for the 2996a? Mine haven’t given issues yet. You do want to be sure you don’t overtighten the screws, but yes, knuckles are one place I think metal is a good option. Have you found metal parts for that car?

    Yeah 2996a all the way. My HBX 901a which is the same guys as the 903a has rear diff and spider gear issues and prob spent more money fixing that that thing than to just buy a new rc. And it still doesn’t work lol

    Strange that they made thier "1/10" trucks less powerful than the 1/16

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  3 месяца назад

      HBX actually advertises these as 1/12 like they are, but I wouldn’t say the 1/16 are more powerful at all.

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  9 месяцев назад +1

      Mjx is certainly making waves, but they’re plastics aren’t at hbx quality yet. Also, their diffs were failing rather often and they’ve adapted the actual hbx diffs. Love my hypergos, but hbx still wins quality in my opinion. With that said, I can’t wait for HyperGo to come out with a 1/12-1/10 scale basher!
