- Somehow I found the soundtrack of Frieren and Danmachi are so similar (eps this theme and Asterius' Theme). Perhaps both composer did a very great job on the soundtracks to create an adventurous and medieval-like fantasy world.

It’s really respectable how Qual took one look at the magic shield and thought “I see, so that’s how this works” and knew that it had flaws too. Unfortunately for him, he was against the height of magic

@@Maxawa0851 Yeah that's the deciding factor and why frieren even used zoltraak because he lacked modern defensive magic for him his own spell zoltraak was still killing magic. But he was still a genius. She had to kill him there and then or he's have been a problem again in no time.

It's even more impressive when you consider demons usually only learn a single spell in their entire lifetime, and understanding new/other spells is extremely unnatural to them.

With every other demon, Frieren loved to take her time and crush their spirits but with Qual, when she saw that he immediately figured out how the new defensive magic works, she just went for the kill. The dude was a real genius amongst demons, most of the other demons we saw are so stagnant and stuck in their old ways but he only needed to see a new magic spell to copy it. It took 80 years for humanity to overtake him but, if he had been free that whole time and able to keep refining his spell, I genuinely don't think they ever could have caught up to him.

@@quanhuynh9332 ...no Draht is in fact the perfect example of her not going for the kill and crushing the demon spirit. She could have easily instantly cut his head off when he turned his back to her (actually let's be real, she could have killed him as soon as he stepped in her cell). Instead, she first talked to him and told him what a fool he was before she cut off both of his hands and let him live long enough to realize how much he screwed up before finishing him off in the middle of his sentence.
I really have no idea how you could look at the Draht ''fight'' and not realize that Frieren was intentionally toying with him and making him suffer before she killed him.
I love that she tried to do that with Qual too (haha, your life's work is a basic spell now, which everyone protects against), but he turned the tables on her by showing that he can adapt even there.
Poor Qual. He re-defined the meta but after putting into a coma, humanity just took everything he created for themselves and made it their own.

I mean, the fucker is not weak in anyway. He's strong as hell. Humanity took years to develop the defensive spell that can counter his spell. He only glanced at it once and managed to decipher everything there was about it and figured out its weakness as well as how to replicate it perfectly.
@@stevenlee3240 He was a total monster. Give him an hour, and he would’ve reprogrammed Zoltraak to go right through that barrier like it wasn’t even there. He was probably one of the most ridiculous mages I’ve ever seen in fiction. That’s including the mages that I’ve made, and I’ve created a ‘mage-eater’ build for a runic spellsword specifically designed to hunt elves and archmages.

76 songs i absolutely crazy. not a single one so far in the first 4 episodes wasnt superb. this animes ost might become one of the best anime osts of all time

The high beat when Fern tried to stop Qual's offence magic with her defence magis was so dope! That hexagonal and deflecting point of Fern's magic was so good even in her age. I bet she will become "famous mage."

It's very early on in the series but it already has some of the best BGM OST I've seen in anime.
Yes since there is rarely repetitive use of a same soundtrack we have met quite a lot of them in just a few episodes
I've been listening to this on loop ever since this was released, with headphones on max volume.
My god, everytime, I get filled with this surge of emotion that makes me wanna keep moving.
Whenever I feel down, this song makes me feel at ease and then eventually makes me wanna move.
Even when the official sound track is released, this will forever remain in my playlist.

Well, maybe this guy's fine but just in case, here's a PSA for everyone:
Significant noise induced hearing loss can take in the ballpark of *10 years* to manifest. One off instances probably aren't a big deal but consistent exposure to accutely loud noise will probably cause permanent damage, not make your ears stronger.
Chill with the headphone volume, and consider wearing ear plugs in extremely loud environments like concerts and raves.

This guy had less stage presence than Aura, but was probably like, four times smarter and quicker on the uptake than her. And he's the first boss they fight. Yeah, Aura never stood a chance, lets be real here.
I love this soundtrack. It strongly reminds of John Powell's work on the How to Train Your Dragon Movies.

bros magic was like he invented a machine gun while everyone else was still using swords and shields
I knew it was Solitar who talk about how density of an attack could be tweaked to overcame defense spell but I thought Qual already knew it too 5 second after witnessing fern's defense spell
He wasn’t just spamming her, though he was doing that and she even adapted it into her own fighting style. But he was also probing. We saw Frieren spar with her, her shields dropped a lot faster than you’d think even before he did that big blast. He was tuning the attack. We know Lernen was able to make one that could no-sell ordinary defensive magic and considering who he used it on that wasn’t just him with a higher mana level. Im betting within a year Quals little blasts could have done the same thing.
He honestly seemd excited about it all. His spell really was too powerful, not much to do with a “kills everything I use it on” spell, sure he can practice increasing his mana and all but it’s plateau’d. But now there’s defenses for him to learn to break? Finally something to do!

For new generation magicians zoltaraak is nothing but an ordinary magic. but for frieren zolatraak is a nightmare of a magic that made her thousand years of experience a run for its money
