What a freaking killer crowd. They are so happy to be there and when the band tells them to shut up so they can play them a song without the sound system they are freaking dead silent.
wow - how did i ever miss these kids? they popped up when i was looking for some Liz Phair - not a bad comparison. this sounds very self-indulgent to me. like the band made it sound exactly the way -they- wanted it to sound. when you are truly self-indulgent and can play this well ... that is when you get the very best music. listen to that drummer. everything he does is important to creating the feel and the soundscape and the climaxes. guys like him are why drum machines make me sick to my stomach. i am sure i don't have to tell you people how much i like the bass, guitar and singing; but, especially, the songs: they have a cool ebb and flow that i hardly ever hear in other bands. if i was ever in a band this good, i'd be peeing my pants.
@@moegerms yes, yes, and yes - the first 3 metrics are 3 of the best rock and roll albums i have ever heard. intelligent lyrics beyond what you usually consider intelligent; Emily's delivery, which oozes style and irony; and an inventive, relentless, rhythm section which keeps the adrenaline flowing. you are correct mallexjansen!
