actually, use airbrush, don't be discouraged to ever use it it's probably difficult to manage, but if used right, could lead to a wonderful artwork be careful in its usage as it could really lead to disastrous results; try using it subtly in shadings (maybe a substitute or accompaniment in blending) or try using it as the main tool, bearing in mind the foggy/cloudy nature of the brush its never a bad tool, it is just a very misused tool :) I really never use airbrush that much, but I don't like the hate it gets from many artists XD
I use airbrush while drawing fire because you get the nice soft edges and stuff. And then I pair it with the luminosity setting for a layer. So it takes a little while, but the results look good enough for me!

A little extra thing about tip #5: It doesn't hurt to save a different file of the same piece of art if you've progressed more. This is in case of a situation of if your latest save file ever gets corrupted, you can go back to the save file right before it and not lose literally all of your progress.
HEY! I Have a whole bunch of drawings I've done with only highlighters and black marker and they look pretty good. It took me many moons to figure out how to blend shade n fade highlighters. Plus bonus, they glow under black light if your into that kinda thing, hippie
Tip 11: Buy the best tablet you can get. The tablet decides if your strokes are precise or warped, it is not the same as a good paper or good pens. A good tablet will save you a lot of time with decent precision and because of that make you improve faster overall.
I've been drawing with a computer mouse for as long as I can remember so I'll definitely keep doing that until I can own an art tablet. Loved the Iron Man xD I can never figure out how to do those lighting settings properly.
Xabio I have a video idea. You draw something while in the background you tell a story that you experienced in your life that is interesting. It could be like a series every Saturday or so. Like so Xabio can see!!!

Your presentation style is a bit ... eh ... disconcerting but your tips are GOOD. I have an XP-PEN 22 inch. I love it. I haven't used it much but once I set up I can't find anything wrong with it. Wacom are too expensive, in my opinion, although their tablets are good. You are right about it being important to be able to take criticism. I'm lucky. I know one art teacher who is direct with me because she knows me. I have learned a lot from her.

I really like this piece! If I really had to get nitpicky, all I would say is that 1) the shading on the hair is kinda flat and 2) i can't really tell if thats supposed to be lightning on the hammer and axe. The colors and character design are both really well done, and the line art is smooth and clean, which I always appreciate. 10/10 would xabio again
I just started doing digital art a couple months ago. I think all these tips are helpful, especially tip #3 because I always use airbrush to color and you are right it does give a "I don't know how to digital paint" message. :'D I'm still struggling with coloring but hopefully I can improve better with these tips. constructive criticism: most of the piece you do a really great job making the character look 3d with the light bouncing off different parts of the body and casting shadows. however, once you got to the shoulders up, the blue light source from the weapons sort of disappeared and the yellower top down light source became more prominent, making the head and upper shoulders look a bit out of place and almost pasted on. overall its a really dope piece and i love how u used the blue magic sorta stuff as a light source
Lol holy crap, Mark krill. I totally forgot about him but I used to watch him religiously. A lot of my char design came from him. I was never a anime style artist but I stole some aspects of it and shuffled it into my normal stuff. I gotta see if he is still making videos

Okay well I actually see no general problem with the drawing you did except a little more...*BOOM* on the lightning or whatever would look really nice. Also I think the shoulders a too sloped downwards and bringing them up would be more anatomically correct. All in all, that was a really good piece. Nice job!
