  • simple how to on wiring a reverse ground horn for your hotrod or muscle car to pass inspection. This method is also known as the "switched ground" or "interrupted ground" method. basically a simplifyed method of the factory horn wiring that only requires one wire to the steering column instead of two... enjoy.

    I knew I was missing something in my column. Thank you for the video. One of those you wouldn’t think would help much but ends up being super helpful.

      Sometimes it's not the fancy videos that help. I'm glad I made this, even if not too many people watched it.

      Thanks, its so simple i don't know why i didn't think of it earlier. Been driving the car for years without a horn. This is exactly hkw the horn on a 1970 bertle is wired, and is a variation of the factory firebird wiring. The factory had the reverse ground thing going on cept it reverse grounded a relay which then turned on power for the horn which was wired as "switched hot" ... kinda a lot of hassle for something that doesn't draw a lot of amperage... plus my wiring is all hacked up so i just made the horn work. Thanks for stopping by.

    Great video. Trying to pass inspection. Hopefully this reverse negative ground idea works on my C10!

      Another way to do this is with a horn relay, it may be louder that way. Wire it same way, keep relay always hot and just run a ground to the horn switch...

    I'm going to try something similar to this on my Fiero project. I want to bypass the original horn setup and relay. I just have to figure out how to get a ground wire through the steering column.

    thanks, mine don't work at the moment. It looks like your gas gage is not working , mine went to full when i put power to it after sitting for 18 years.

      Yeah my cluster wiring is a mess. It has a huge short in it somewhere so when use the dash lights the draw is insane. So i just drive around with the dash lights turned all the way down and it works great. Someday i'll get a new circuit board for it. But body work and suspension were priorities ;-)

      yea, you got some cool cars. I had heard that if you lose ground your gas gage will go over past full. I got a new tank for mine, sending unit and tore the entire car apart about 2 years ago, just getting it back together now, working on it a few hrs. each weekend. good luck

    Do you know what the “little nipple” is actually called? I’ve been looking through so many vids but haven’t found out, I lost my lil nipple. Just trying to buy a new one.😂

    so you didnt have to use a relay?

    • @InvincibleExtremes
      @InvincibleExtremes  3 года назад +1

      No you still do, this is just how I ground the relay. Relay is always hot. You can get away with not using a relay but that's a lot of current going through a couple small contacts

    where is your relay located?
