Love the idea to tell Siri to drill out the spot welds. Yes there is an excess of spot welds in this area. Brings back fond memories of repairing this area. I will tell you when its done, and you look back at it you will say it was well worth the effort. It was a lot of work but could not live with all that bubbled up rusted out sheetmetal at the front body mounts. I have a 10 year old Harbor Freight Cen-Teck cheapie scanner. It reads the codes, has basic sensor outputs, clears codes, lets you know when drive cycle is complete. Not super sophisticated but gets the job done on my old cars, just takes a little longer to figure out what is causing the problem. Frank
@@pucman1 ScannerDanner is my go to channel for automotive scanner testing information. He has the best scanners and very technical but you can figure out how his thought train is figuring out the cause of the problem. good luck.
Nice job digging deep on that rust! I can borrow a pretty sophisticated ODBII tablet from a shop when I need one, but I've been seriously considering something like a Carly Bluetooth ODBII scanner anyway. It's pretty reasonable and having real-time diagnostics you can leave on when driving can sometimes be really helpful.
Keep it up my friend one piece of rusty metal at a time. If it’s solid but just a little rusty use some converter on it and stop the cancer but you probably already know that.
