Can you make a video about all the different colors and pattern about the horses out there. I want to know, how many different colors are out there. No, i haven't the game yet.
You've completely left out any info on training which is actually seperate from bonding. I came to realize this because the steering is so crappy on untrained horses. My first horse was spotted and while easy to ride and rarely acting up between the time I caught it and the time I got to a stable the steering was horrid. I registered it and it was at 100% bond. I was so disheartened because I had heard that the steering was bad but that it would get better with the bond. It hadn't and this horse had no more room to grow. An npc mentioned training by soothing when a horse does what you ask. I started doing that. My horse improved rapidly until my steering was flawless. My second horse I started training immediately. As soon as I caught her before I headed for a stable I ran figure 8s with her and rewarded correct turns. I threw in a few stops to tune the breaks. As soon as I had perfect response which was in about 5 minutes I took her and registered her. She was only at 64% bond. I've trained yet another horse recently same routine when I got him to the stable he was at 49I started soothing them in combat when they do what I ask and they're starting to obey me in that situation as well. So training them in combat may even be a seperate thing as well but I haven't seen enough evidence to say that is 100% true. It still may be something I'm doing differently in combat while riding. Time will tell. Try these things out for yourself and see if you get the same results. If you do you might want to add them to part 2.
You can add feeding your horse certain things in part two! I discovered by luck feeding my horse an endura carrot adds three extra spurs, that disappear once used. Helpful for emergencies!

Trot if you're barely moving the analog (or what ever) where as the others have a full on "Gallop" it's weird cuz gallop sounds more "prissy" and "Fancy" like a trot, making you think it would be canter that's the full run xD (used to confuse me as a kid) but nope lol. The giant horse, as others have pointed out, doesn’t have unlimited stamina. It can’t dash like a normal horse, but it has no stamina meter so you can use tell it go faster as much as you want. While it takes longer for the horse to reach top speed than other horses, its size means its running animation covers more distance so it is faster than its stats imply.
You can also find Link's horse in the game (the one Link rides in the memories and in the final fight against Ganon if you never registered a horse). It can be found in numerous locations across Hyrule. I know for a fact that it is a unique horse because it alway has the same stats. I can't remember all the locations where you can find him, but one of them is Giant's Forest. If you can't find him try reloading your save once or twice until he appears.
Not all dark brown horses with black mane and tail + white ankles (how "Link's Horse" looks like) have good stats. I recently tamed one with 3-star stamina and 2-star speed. And later replaced it with identically colored one with better stats
Giant horse has no stamina, not infinite! Also I've found and caught random wild horses with better stats than the white stallion over in the taobab plains
I know that you can't really catch Epona without the amiibo, but I was so proud of myself when I found a horse with similar looks and stats. The speed was 3 stars, and I think it was a little smaller as well as not having the extra fur around the hoof area. It also had a wild temperament.
Same!!! I mean, just about anybody who knows a thing or two about horses could tell you it's called walking, trotting, cantering and galloping, not running.
I have Zelda's Horse, and all others have excellent stats. For best horses, go to the Upland Lindor, SSW of Serenne stable. Be sure to jump off the hill to the left, float down onto a horse for best results. Horses in that area are quite skittish. Good stealth doesn't entirely help you there.
nice editing! the only tiny nitpick i have is that technically the horses have four gaits if you include the speed after spurring - walk, trot, canter, and gallop xD but aside from that wow this was really extensive and super helpful!! Thanks so much for making this lord knows i need it
I had 6 horses Spot, who had 2 stars on everything Good horse, who had one more stamina Bob, who was my best horse at the time Zeldas horse Power boy who had 4non strength and speed but 5 stamina And speedy who had 5 star speed and was blue
@@carmeline.l8136 there's a mission where u could give someone a horse, which could be a registered horse. If you have 5 horses and try to register another one, you could choose a horse to release

If anyone wants to know a good area to find horses, the field between twin peaks and fort hateno has three spawns and there's a fourth spawn hiding in the trees along the river bank. I've found horses that rivaled Epona before. Sadly those horses have passed or were released for the white and giant horses
Wrong. The best place to find horses is the Upland Lindor. 2 spawns that also spawn the best horses in the game, statwise. They also have 2 stables nearby, unlike Taobab Grassland which makes you go through several horse riding Bokoblin archers and 2 Lynels.
I tried registering the bear I found. It was an... interesting conversation. I wish you could mount the bulls, rhinos, and moose you find... Link on a moose.... Best. mount. ever.
When I did my second gameplay ('cause the first one didn't turned out so wellXD) I made energy potions when I got to leave the Great Plateau. This time, I wanted to pick the best horse I could found in the first group I'd see. I prefer black horses, because that is my fav color horse in real life and gameplay:) And because I knew the black horses in Breath of the Wild are most likely one of the better horses. I was lucky: the first time I saw a group horses there was a pretty black one. It had only a little white on it's feet and a small white stripe on it's head, that you can't see good through it's manes. SO PERFECT! I tamed it and I was surprised: it had four stamina, which is the best exept for the royal white stallion and Epona. I was really happy! I registered it and called it Magic. I still enjoy rides with him:)
If you don't want to waste your money on an amiibo for Epona, there are horses that do look like her. Caught a 4 str, 4 spd, 5 sta Epona look-a-like at the Giant Horse location. There is only one difference though, her brown tint is SLIGHTLY darker compared to the Epona amiibo, that's it. I generally like Nintendo, but really, fuck amiibos :)
Rien van Zevenbergen amiibos are great actually its like mini toys that you can use in most of there games to get bonuses. i normally get zelda ones because i love how they look but i use them daily for BOTW
The best solid coloured horses are the ones that lead the herd, generally followed by the other horses. It's how I got my favourite horse :') I love it soo much
I have a herd leader solid colored one and he has 1 star strength, 3 star speed and 4 star stamina… those are horrendous, and I named him whit of all names
for taming horses with the "wild" temperament, if you just mash the L button to soothe them with the palm of your hand, you can tame that horse easily (I'm not talking about the bond.). It's almost guaranteed that the horse won't be able to kick you off, even if you have the lowest stamina (and a fast arm). (for both wii u and switch)
I have the worst luck with this game, everything kills me in one hit, and no matter what I try to do the game stops me. Try to open towers well everyone is guarded by some ungodly powerful enemies…then last night before I went to sleep I see some horses and I figure let’s see how hard this is going to be and somehow jumped on one first try and tamed it right away and took it to a stable lol maybe my luck’s improving because I kept hearing how hard it was and I got it almost by accident lol
OMG this is the best horse guide in the game I got two horses that are better than Epona (I Have Epona) and I got the super fast horse thank you soooo much for your amazing guide and u just earned ur self a subscriber
An easy way I found to mount a horse without sneaking up on it or using an elixir, Get to a high place near the horse of your choice ,tree ,hill ,rock you name it and hand glide your way right on top of Its back and you'll automatically be mounting it. It's a great cheet😉 (don't try to glide to the side if the horse ,unless your in the mood for a swift kick in the ribs)
Extra tips: - Boosting trust: Feeding your horse apples will boost it's trust. As soon as you catch one just keep pulling out apples until it stops eating them to get 100% trust. - Ancient Bridle/Saddle: An item from the DLC, once found and placed on a horse it will make the horse warp to any location you are it when you whistle. It also will add 2 extra stamina slots to any horse. - Catching Horses Easy: Sneak up near a horse then shoot it with an ice arrow. It will freeze the horse allowing you to run up behind it. Crouch down and spam the mount button until it unfreezes. You'll instantly jump on the horse. - Extra Stamina: If you feed your horse an endura carrot it will gain 3 extra stamina slots. They will not regenerate once used.
I find it really stupid that some of the coolest content in the game is locked behind amiibo. The ones for breath of the wild (from what I've seen) only give you items that at one point or another, you can get in game, but all the Smash amiibo and 30th anniversary amiibo actually give you cool items. The 30 anniversary amiibo are all sold out here in Canada from what I can see, and the smash amiibos are pretty hard to find. All we've got up here are those crappy animal crossing amiibo that do jack shit for anything. My point is that I hope Nintendo makes the amiibo items buyable DLC in the future.
Imagine how great it would be to buy an electronic version of a certain amiibo thats tied to your account so you can use it in other games and not have a scarcity issue
If only there was a quest to get Epona instead of using an amiibo. The quest would probably be named "The quest for Epona" or "Link's horse" or something like that
Well, I have a good working method, but it's kind of "motherfucker" method. Use an shocking arrow on the horse, go right behind me, and when his shock is over, ride him. That's how I nearly got all my horses :3 (they still love me tho :P)
One difference between gentle and wild horses that I've noticed is that if you press A again after running out of stamina, the wild ones will throw you off.
The 5 strength horse with 3 speed and 5 stamina does not mean it is superior in combat to ganon horse tho. The ganon horse is way bigger so you can attack more enemies and you can reach enemies that are higher above that regular horses can't.
If anyone's wondering, 'Epona' from all of the trailers and box art is available in the game (duh) and can be found in the wild. I caught them and equipped them with the traveller's kit from the amiibo, so now, along with all of the right gear and weapons, I have the things to look just like link from the trailers :)
It's in the horse spawn list, I'm sure. You can look up all the horse spawns or just check by stables every now and then. I'm not sure when the horses reset but you'll know when you see it. It's got a very distinctive chocolate colour, white hair on its feet and a white patch by the head. I saw two of them, so I guess I got lucky.
You do know you can find those horses again right? I tracked the same exact horse for 4 days! I was busy doing the dungeons while paying attention to where I found it, then when i got the chance tamed it and made my on Epona.
I saw a post that said the area affects the stats of the horse and just north to upland lindor they said they found very high stat horses (higher than epona and zeldas horse) I found a 4 strength 4 speed 5 stamina and a 2 strenght 5 speed 3 stamina there.
There are some horses that you can find in Upland lindor that have stats such as a horse with 5 speed, 3 stamina, 2 strength, One with 5 strength 3 speed 5 stamina, and one with 4 strength 4 speed 5 stamina. You can thank me later. Also Ganonhorse actually has zero stamina. It can't sprint.
I just started playing botw and i got ganon horse without knowing what it was before seeing this video! While trying to catch it i was just like: this horse looks cool and difficult to soothe must be good. And didn't even realize it was lager than any other horse i thought i was passing by baby horses while riding lmao
I love the horses , especially in BOTW because they are implemented so much more but i wish they'd have some of the old designs in OOT :( and "Spikey mane" epona. Yeah i know that was to make for a flow effect and cuz of poor graphics but it's what made her design rather cool. Maybe allow you to win it, and you can put on any horse in a few different colors (to match the horses body color/s) , and it'd be nice if they added a purchasable dlc of some sorts that lets you expand/buy/win what ever more stable space cuz # collectors. it sucks we can't keep the lord the mountain (the rest makes sense and kind of adds to the fun.) But at least we can keep Giant/ganon horse and the white knight/zelda's horse! Thank fuck i'd be pissed if we couldn't keep ganon's horse lol. I have a save for basic horses that i liked for colors and one that is my recording save will have the "Fancy" ones like epona ganon white knight etc.
Also i feel like WAY more could be done with the horses in the zelda franchise and BOTW in general. It would be a cool thing to go on adding DLC etc and its mmo-kind of feel makes me really want an online zelda game similar to BOTW , with constant content being released every now and then....it would be awesome and i bet they'd rack in a lot of attention and cash but that's just my take on it heha. Btw great video and content keep it up! ~Hatter
If you are todo a part 2, please incluede the minigames for the extra saddles and bridles. and showcase them? also i managed to find a horse with 4/4/5 stats. i think the location where i found it generally has better stats on horses.
I got my first horse from a bokoblin rider, and we bonded very quickly after I rescued her from it. I named her Amber because her mane and tail are the color of the amber ore in the game. I put flowers in her hair ^-^
I recently tamed my first horse, a low-level spotty one. It's almost as if he had seen tamed horses passing by on the road and was like "that is what I want in my life."
Upland lindor has very good horses. They have up to 5 stamnia dashes. So you don't need to tame the special horses like epona and the royal familys horse.
No one points out something I noticed when I first started playing. It's pretty obvious knowledge if you think about it. But if you study a group of horses for a bit, you'll notice that one of the horses leads the others. That's the one you want to catch. I've yet to see anyone point this out.
Actually, the Giant Horse has no stamina, not infinite. Once up to a canter, that's it. There are no stamina stirrups like the other horses have, so you can't bust into a full-on gallop. On the bright side, you don't need to be going at a full on gallop to deal damage to enemies when on the Giant Horse; get up to a canter and anything you run into topples over and takes damage. That means you get good steering control while also being able to trample opponents (galloping gives you a worse turn radius compared to the other gaits).
Honestly I found the giant horse without any prior knowledge about it and I went to register it to see if I could thinking it would be like mounting a deer or something and I was shocked you could actually get it
I just got onto the game, I have Zelda's horse, her name's Twilight. I l also got another horse near Giant's Forest, he's black-n-white, and I gave him a Mohawk. His name's Napoleon and he has 3-4 star stats. Is he still good?
The one thing I don't like about the horse system in this game is you can't see all the stats of the horse (except stamina) until you let go of another horse, and register it at the stable. I lost a good, well-rounded horse by doing this on a gamble. I think if you make that mistake they should let you get the old horse back, or either just show you full stats right away.
There’s no need to be stealthy this may sound cruel but if you shoot a horse with an ice arrow you can go up to it and then wait fore the horse to thaw pls no hate.
I know I'm late, but the strength it's not the horse performance in battle but the amount of HP. The Giant Horse doesn't have unlimited stamina, it doesn't have stamina. The temperament is how easy is to tame the horse. Also why everyone assumes the White STALLION (male horse) is a Mare (female). Just because he got a pretty blonde maine doesn't mean he is a girl, lol. I have good news for Zelda totk, you can have your horses from botw.
Brigid Foley I know the game says canter as running without using spurs, but in the game they are not cantering. They are galloping. Their movement and use of their legs are gallop movement not canter. The horse as you can see brings all 4 of their legs in the air at a certain time when running and this not done while doing a canter.

4:18
It actually has no spurs, so you can't temporarily boost it like other horses.
This is a really well edited video! Wish my name would be written correctly. :'(
Dammit!
I at least got your channel correct in the description though, right?
P.S. we should make something together ya feel me?
Do you have an idea?
Actually I kind of do. Where's a good place to DM you?
hi Bear Beard. :p
@@legendofzero8575 oooof RIP he didnt reply
I know that you can't really catch Epona without the amiibo, but I was so proud of myself when I found a horse with similar looks and stats. The speed was 3 stars, and I think it was a little smaller as well as not having the extra fur around the hoof area. It also had a wild temperament.
As an equestrian when he said walking trotting and running I almost died
Same.
Same!!! I mean, just about anybody who knows a thing or two about horses could tell you it's called walking, trotting, cantering and galloping, not running.
Same! I have been riding for about 4 years and I choked on my water XD
SAME I only found one video that says canter
i hope ya'll are joking
1:52 Stregnth
Strikechild I thought I was the only one that noticed.
When I first saw ganon horse I though it was just a horse with ponies XD
It easy to get a horse if you kill a moblin that's on top of it
Laraina Sealz it’s also easy if you jump on the horse from a tree or something
True. They are already tamed but those are always horses with bad values.
Ninjaananas well early game that can help you a lot to get to places
Lyra Zylicain horses don't get moblin a on them
Some locations have goblins on horses
Edit: I hate autocorrect
I have Zelda's Horse, and all others have excellent stats. For best horses, go to the Upland Lindor, SSW of Serenne stable. Be sure to jump off the hill to the left, float down onto a horse for best results. Horses in that area are quite skittish. Good stealth doesn't entirely help you there.
I like how straight forward it is. It is more simple to learn it
I‘m not owning BotW but want to play it in the future.
So far, I‘m not spoilered - except horses of course.

Dude ur gonna be a sick Zelda channel I mean like ur editing is legit sick
nice editing!
the only tiny nitpick i have is that technically the horses have four gaits if you include the speed after spurring - walk, trot, canter, and gallop xD but aside from that wow this was really extensive and super helpful!! Thanks so much for making this lord knows i need it
I wish they added cats so we could see that cat play the piano
I had 6 horses
Spot, who had 2 stars on everything
Good horse, who had one more stamina
Bob, who was my best horse at the time
Zeldas horse
Power boy who had 4non strength and speed but 5 stamina
And speedy who had 5 star speed and was blue
How do you like disown a horse??
@@carmeline.l8136 there's a mission where u could give someone a horse, which could be a registered horse. If you have 5 horses and try to register another one, you could choose a horse to release
@@tripled2505
When you tame 6th horse and ride it to stable, the stable person let's you release one of your horses back into the wild. So you aren't stuck with the same 5 horses
I named zelda's horse "horselink" lol
Best. mount. ever.
I'm so disappointed they didn't make moose ridable in TotK...
someone might have already said this but according to comics or something, Zelda's horse is named "Storm" and Ganon's horse is "Phantom"!
When I did my second gameplay ('cause the first one didn't turned out so wellXD) I made energy potions when I got to leave the Great Plateau. This time, I wanted to pick the best horse I could found in the first group I'd see. I prefer black horses, because that is my fav color horse in real life and gameplay:)
And because I knew the black horses in Breath of the Wild are most likely one of the better horses.
If u go where ganon's horse is there is another horse that's has 4 speed 4 strength and 5 stamina
Rien van Zevenbergen Well there's another one that looks more of the same near Tanagar Canyon.
Rien van Zevenbergen
I did the same 😂👊 yess fuck amiibo
Rien van Zevenbergen amiibos are great actually its like mini toys that you can use in most of there games to get bonuses. i normally get zelda ones because i love how they look but i use them daily for BOTW
thebrunssss the only amiibo i wanted was the smash bros link one which gives the twilight princess tunic and epona but couldnt find one ;(
thebrunssss I love riding Epona around Hyrule Field while wearing the Twilight Princess tunic. Good times :)
An easy way I found to mount a horse without sneaking up on it or using an elixir,
Get to a high place near the horse of your choice ,tree ,hill ,rock you name it and hand glide your way right on top of Its back and you'll automatically be mounting it.
It's a great cheet😉
(don't try to glide to the side if the horse ,unless your in the mood for a swift kick in the ribs)
Extra tips:
- Boosting trust: Feeding your horse apples will boost it's trust.
Buyable DLC? Good luck buying the Biggoron Sword, and it breaking after a couple of fights... Are you gonna buy it again and again?
He means buying the amiibo online instead of finding sold out versions, also at regular prices instead of people over pricing it.
Imagine how great it would be to buy an electronic version of a certain amiibo thats tied to your account so you can use it in other games and not have a scarcity issue
Just go on amazon or make your own using blank NPC chips and a phone app. There are RUclips videos showing how to do that.
SomeguycalledSmithy I thaaaaaaaaaaaattt!!!!!!!😱😟😟😱😵😵😈👹👺
If only there was a quest to get Epona instead of using an amiibo. The quest would probably be named "The quest for Epona" or "Link's horse" or something like that
Love the editing #roadto100k
Haha, you guys have higher aspirations for me than I do.
0:30 Catching a horse isn't as easy as walking up to it
*Well I did that and it worked first try*
So I don't know that pain😇
Blastoise Master Same
Well, I have a good working method, but it's kind of "motherfucker" method. Use an shocking arrow on the horse, go right behind me, and when his shock is over, ride him. That's how I nearly got all my horses :3 (they still love me tho :P)
Blastoise Master
P
ahah same only i use ice arrows
Blastoise Master ah lame. I shield surf xD
You can also find Stalhorses in the N Tabantha Snowfield
LOVE YOUR THUMBNAIL. I don't say that a lot
Me neither. Thanks! Haha
You missed the crucial tip of gaining trust by repeatedly using a stamina unit and soothing right after regaining stamina.
Hey thanks man, this has been a HUGE help, you are a godsend. Keep up the good work and I'll subscribe for the help. Thanks again brother.
So I just found out you can find different saddles and face armor for your horse and now Im losing my mind.
Your As Helpful As Zelda Dungeons!
Subbed Guy 👍
One difference between gentle and wild horses that I've noticed is that if you press A again after running out of stamina, the wild ones will throw you off.
That and Gentle horses let you climb on, whereas w
Wild horses will try to buck you off.
The 5 strength horse with 3 speed and 5 stamina does not mean it is superior in combat to ganon horse tho. The ganon horse is way bigger so you can attack more enemies and you can reach enemies that are higher above that regular horses can't.
Legend of zero:there are plenty of things you can ride beside horses
Me: don’t say it dong say it
There are 3 levels of speed * walking rickshaw and galloping*
Thank you. Short and concise 👍
Very special horses important breeds and fashion. Nic
You do know you can find those horses again right? I tracked the same exact horse for 4 days! I was busy doing the dungeons while paying attention to where I found it, then when i got the chance tamed it and made my on Epona.
wow awesome video
Wow this helped a lot!
3:36 ima try to find zelda's horse soon :D
Very useful video
I just started playing botw and i got ganon horse without knowing what it was before seeing this video! While trying to catch it i was just like: this horse looks cool and difficult to soothe must be good. And didn't even realize it was lager than any other horse i thought i was passing by baby horses while riding lmao
3:14 well I do not think it's an easter egg because it's just like a DLC
~Hatter
Daily Dungeonists the lord of the mountain isn’t meant to be owned...
Plus the special horses are descendants
Hey if you feed a hors enduro carrots it will gain Moore stamina speed spurs
If you are todo a part 2, please incluede the minigames for the extra saddles and bridles. and showcase them?
also i managed to find a horse with 4/4/5 stats. i think the location where i found it generally has better stats on horses.
I got my first horse from a bokoblin rider, and we bonded very quickly after I rescued her from it. I named her Amber because her mane and tail are the color of the amber ore in the game. I put flowers in her hair ^-^
I wish someone knew how to get a small horse, I saw one on a stream but nothing about it anywhere else.
You can find a horse with 4 strength 4 speed and 5 stamina in the same place the giant horse is found.
I have Epona, Storm (Zeldas horse) and Phantom ( Gabon’s horse) and my own horse :D
I have started master mode and after the great plateau and went to the stable I have already found a good horse.
There are always undead bokoblins mounted on Stalhores in Lon Lon Ranch ruins at night
Where does it say it's Ganons Horse? From what I remember, it has only been referenced as the Giant Horse.
I caught the Giant Horse and I named him Tiny 😂
Honestly I found the giant horse without any prior knowledge about it and I went to register it to see if I could thinking it would be like mounting a deer or something and I was shocked you could actually get it
You can also get epona from the twilight princess link amiibo.
Does mounting it again and again and again , can i get the horse like that does it have to continue in one mount
I just got onto the game, I have Zelda's horse, her name's Twilight. I l also got another horse near Giant's Forest, he's black-n-white, and I gave him a Mohawk. His name's Napoleon and he has 3-4 star stats. Is he still good?
Feeding horses endura carrots temporarily increases the number of spurs by 2 or 3. It's the horse equivalent of yellow stamina rings.
Can you find a good wild horse or only the special ones are the only good ones?
The one thing I don't like about the horse system in this game is you can't see all the stats of the horse (except stamina) until you let go of another horse, and register it at the stable. I lost a good, well-rounded horse by doing this on a gamble. I think if you make that mistake they should let you get the old horse back, or either just show you full stats right away.
There’s no need to be stealthy this may sound cruel but if you shoot a horse with an ice arrow you can go up to it and then wait fore the horse to thaw pls no hate.
I tried to register a Bear, Deer and Stalhorse once, just for laughs, the Lord of The Mountain is my next silly joke.
Hey zero! You did amazing!!! But I'd like to add that you said ganondorf's horse has infinite stamina? But that actually means it has none
is there a way to few the stats of a horse if you already have 5 horses?
It tells you at a stable...
normally if i ask it tells me i have to get rid of one horse first
I think you can have only 5 horses
Not that I know of, sorry.
話說該不會沒斷臂,只是單純太熱脫掉流著紫色汗水的老鷹袖套吧!?
話說該不會沒斷臂,只是單純太熱脫掉流著紫色汗水的老鷹袖套吧!?
Is there a way to customize Epona?
If you get Epona,zeldas horse(name un-none),or ganons horse(name un-none) they have like 4 or 5 stamina stars
If you board a horse somewhere can you unboard it from somewhere else?
I'm mad at myself because I tamed a blue horse and named it Nayru, and I missed the chance to call it Neighru
4 speeds actually walk, trot , canter and gallop
Brigid Foley I know the game says canter as running without using spurs, but in the game they are not cantering. They are galloping. Their movement and use of their legs are gallop movement not canter. The horse as you can see brings all 4 of their legs in the air at a certain time when running and this not done while doing a canter.
oh ok my bad 😊
