Kai says the same thing as my kids. They still come out with me though :-) and always laugh about it later. It's so great to share stories and memories like this.
The Nav vs Mux, I'm equally impressed with both honesty I did these tracks years ago in my old 6inch lifted Patrol, never would i have thought a soccer mum MUX would do it this easily!
7:48 , just a tip, anything like brake/ABS lines that can rub metal can eventually rub though especially with dust involved. I'm a fitter and turner and have seen way too many failures.
Yeah, I wanted to raise the same question. That brake line looks like it already rubbed a groove into the pan hard rod. Tyler, maybe you have to have a look at that.
Great to see people navigate tracks with patience and thought. I'm so over the "more power is the only answer" approach. I ride a big adventure bike and you've given me so many ideas of where to explore. I find it super helpful to see you doing river crossings - they can be a problem on a bike if it's rough and deep, watching you go through gives some idea (of course conditions change) of whether it's going to be a hard crossing before I get there. Great channel, Thanks
The machinery on the dam is a winch to raise and lower the outflow pipe, keeping it above the silt. You can see it better on the two dams in waterworks gully.
I’m looking forward to an edition where Kai says “I told you so!”. Great footage of the two vehicles flexing. That area reminds me of the Bungle Bungles with foliage. I reckon there will be flocks of people rushing to ARB to buy their swag after Kai’s review. Keep up the good work!! 👍🏻🙏🏽😷🦘
Good 4wd in the morning watching 1st thing. Your dad getting good in i think he got now confidence in rear locker, keep the video going on Thanks for every sunday morning video on u tube
It's true, it was an added feature when they made the NEW South Wales, it's a shame we get crazy bush fires though. I look forward to what features they add to the NEXT South Wales.
Thinking about getting the Harrop Elocker for my GU. A review on your dads locker would be great, that thing is a beast now. I did notice that he said it did not disengage on the roll back at 26:22.
Awesome place to wheel, nice tracks. So impressed with both vehicles. The MUX is transformed now with the locker Your dad must be happy now ! Great video well done Tyler.
Awesome clip mate and thanks for coming out our way and showcasing what our backyard has to offer. Bloody fantastic tracks up around Newnes / Lithgow. That dam was used for storing water to power the old steam trains that ran across the mountain and down into Newnes, run by the then Commonwealth Shale Oil Company, through the zig zag railway. And interestingly The Lost City has a great link back to the world war too and was lit up at night to use as a decoy so the Japanese didn’t bomb Lithgow. Great clip mate 👍👍 One thing - when you can’t swim and freshen up, what do you guys do for a shower ? Not yet seen you using any portable shower set up .... just curious cheers Tyler
It would be good to see how that battery chain saw goes.. As I might buy one next saw. Now ya need to do a chain sawing course and get more experience/confidence using chain saws.
A big thing with battery chainsaws is keep the chain sharp and that will get way more cuts from one battery charge . It's easy to learn how to hand file a chain and after every few sharpenings take a swipe off the rakers with a small flat file , otherwise the teeth can be sharp but it still won't cut well . The teeth are angled so they get lower the more they are filed , the raker or depth guages control the chip size so they must be filed occasionally to maintain the difference , rakers should be about 0.020" or 0.5mm below the cutting edge of each tooth . Drill a small hole into an old golf ball and jam the chainsaw round file tang into that , it makes a decent handle that fits into the palm of the hand quite well .
Love watching your channel, great to see someone in the NSW/Sydney area and tracks near me. Recently got a Ranger so can't wait to get out once lockdown ends and test her out.
Great swag review by Kai 👍 - Awesome watching your Dad's reaction after he's got up some of those tracks. Big props to him too, has no fear, keeps the foot in !!! 👍
Lithgow and Newnes are a phenomenal area indeed ^^ - I was meant to hit the Turon River last weekend but bloody lockdowns got us stuck in Sydney, meeeh...
mux is like a whole new rig now. Not only would it be heaps of fun for you guys but Im sure it makes these tracks faster as winching is what eats up hours haha. Love it man, got me keen as to plan a NSW trip in summer.
Hey Tyler, you got you a monster chain saw ! Men… looks a bit oversized, recon was on a special or you are now going into landscaping side business haha. Nice video again and nice driving not ripping off the tracks cheers and keep the sunny side up.
Those photos Kai takes, damn hes good... Nice vid again Tyler. P.s. i like it when you show on a map where you are and what tracks you go on, gives a greater perspective. 👍
What is the fuel consumption of the MU-X with the mods? Seems that it can be capable with the locker but my concern is the range with a 65l tank - especially for overland trips here in Southern Africa.
@@TylerThompson90 Next time you are up in Newnes State Forest, check it out... it's an easy 4wd there, but you can basically drive your car right up to the most spectacular cliffs.... Actually the ice cold water dip is better for your health. Activate your cold shock proteins in your Body. So your having fun & getting healthy at the same time 😂 awesome footage once again. 👌

If it keeps them off the gaming console for a few hours, then it’s worth them going out in the fresh air.
Sunday morning coffee and a bit of 4wd. Great start to ripping day!
Love your work Tyler!
I bought a Makita saw about a year ago. As good as a comparable sized petrol with none of the hassles. Good battery life. You wont regret it
The work and effort you put into these videos is both phenomenal and inspiring.

With the parks goin to online bookings and you not planning where you are not going to stop how do you go with pre booking your camping sites
We stay away from pre booked campsites mostly and national parks that have this
The Mux is just a completely different kinda animal with that e-locker.. I'm surprised tbh.

Not to shabby bro. It's rather simple. Just don't fly it near trees and if it's windy
Yeah they are relatively easy to fly to be honest, just takes a while to get better at getting good footage
What tyres does the MuX run now?
they are 265/75/R16 fallen wild peaks
how's the handbrake on NAV?
Yeah its pretty good, dad has a fair bit of problems with his in the MUX
