Hello, Sorin. I really appreciate you and your work, you do this job with passion, you're really enjoying it and anyone can see this thing by watching your videos. Keep up the good work. What I would like to see in next videos is to see you speaking in Romanian, doing one video in Romanian aswell, English people can use subtitles. :D
@@electronicsrepairschool I am not from Romania, but I really better understand your Romanian than your English :D The way you speak English, is connected to Romanian. Your beard makes you 20 years older xD
This laptop is amazing! I bought it as a laptop to use for a 4 year university program! Sleek design and excellent performance, how could I not. Unfortunately, I am now in my final semester, with multiple projects on the go and my Acer Swift laptop won’t charge anymore. Perfect condition, just a poor quality build by acer. How on earth do I even fix this without spending $100’s more to fix a 4 year old laptop… Beyond frustrated at how short a lifespan technology has now with what was known to be the most reliable operating system in Windows.
Don't know how many ports with pigtails that we've repaired with Sorins favorite "hot glue" ;-) A little dab'll do ya, $20, and out the door to a VERY happy customer!!!
Hi Sorin. Love all your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. When you order things like a specific laptop port needed quickly what supplier do you use? Thanks.
Hi, I'm working on a "dead" Acer just like the one in this video. A relative gave it to me saying it was plugged in during a storm and lightning struck the house. Since then the laptop isn't working. When I plug the charger, nothing happens, no charging light, the pc doesn't turn on. The charger is working. I've tested the charging barrel on the pc, and I tested continuity between the inside pin and the outside contact point ( which should be + and -/ground if I'm not mistaken), and I have continuity between the two. This shouldn't happen right ? I'm thinking about replacing the charging port to see what it does. What do you guys think ?
do middle pins wearout that bad? sures its the right charger? might be the right voltage but not the specific one for that laptop hence its loose, thats my take 3.47 in lets see what happens
Hi good day for you, I have a same laptop, there is a blow up chip near lcd screen connector of motherboard. I was not able to find new smd item for that. Can you help me please?
With my luck the port would have melted when I pointed hot air at it. xD That's why I do it the hard way and clear all the holes and then solder the pins one by one lol.
Yup, my laptop has such huge ground traces around the charging port, that it takes a lot of hot air to get the solder to melt. Usually it gets all soggy looking by the time it's out. Ain't no way I'm putting a new one with air. It's a shame, since the insides of it get soft either way after awhile (it just can't handle 230 watts going through it) and needs to be replaced again.
You look smiling, lively, relaxed and in a great mood. All the best.
8:55 I like that you replaced charging port by new one, instead of try to fix old one.
This is a proper professional video for a charging port replacement. Thanks for sharing this.
im not a electrician but i enjoy watching :))

First time I ever seen someone soldering a DC jack like that
Help me please 😅. I have an acer swift 3 it says its charging i can use it while the charger is in but the battery is going empty.
why DC charging port is so expensive ? 10$ for a port ?
With my luck the port would have melted when I pointed hot air at it. xD That's why I do it the hard way and clear all the holes and then solder the pins one by one lol.

Try adding some low melt solder to the joints first, should make it come out a lot easier with the hot air
how to confidently using hot air without burning the plastic at new charging port
8:49 in fact, 2 days have passed, because you were also to barber for haircut
