Love the humour. I was laughing as I was thinking that this repair is the only economically viable option
This cheap fix is doing more to the world than many governments.
yeah, its economocally viable option, i believe its not worth it to buy a new cable and screen for that laptop bcz its a low range cheap laptop, the processor probably a celeron n3050 with 1.6ghz or slightly better, it will even struggle playing high quality videos, i got a similar laptop from the dumpster(with celeron 2840), broken screen, no HDD, no ram, i though i will extract pwm chip to try to save my other dead laptop, but its turn out the power button was broken, so i just used my old screen+ram and i soldered a button from a broken mouse to replace the bad button, its look funny and dodgy but its work and its 100% free 😆
@@t.s.8783 Exactly!
Sorin. You have a beautiful thing that many of those who work in the field of computer repair and maintenance do not possess, which is your humility and doing your work to the fullest extent, as if you were a knight fighting a battle for the sake of good. Greetings to you, my dear friend.
Can`t speak for pro`s in repair industry but for me as just hobbist is this perfect repair - you found the fault, dealt with it and laptop is working!Nice job again!
5 years in the connector industry, I'm amazed anything works. Nice work.
Some MacBook LVDS connectors are just as bad. It hs the 45v for the screen next to the line that goes to the CPU.
it seems that connector business is like any other business.
The closest Sorin comes to cussing 21:31 😂😂
Excellent job as usual keep up the good work.
That screen if it ware to buy new probably was 60% of the whole laptop money plus the cable, sooooo god job there!!!!! Nice video, nice job, greetings from Romania!
Sorin, you are a genius, I do exactly that, and if I thought you would read the message, I would tell you how much I learned from you, thank you very much
Most people expect their broken device be like new after a repair, but wont pay the cost of the repair.
I find your solution PERFECT
Nice job Sorin, exactly what I’d do. This video deserves 1 million views. 😂
I love the Dodgy repairs. That is how I fix my stuff. LOL.
"Oh what is this screw here... LOL." Classic ending to any DIY, spare parts :D
Well a master piece with laughter and that the way to go, win win for all. It is not all about the money here, Sorin showing great understanding of his clientele social and economic background and not to hurt his/her pocket too much. This is kindness and caring at its best at current difficult financial situation for so many.
Very nice! Thats the only way to go short of disconnecting the screen and telling them to use an external monitor.
Hello Sorin, once again we are pleasantly surprised, with this repair, you are a master from whom we like to learn. Greetings from Spain
Only way Sorin. I love your bravery. Well done
Sorin is the Master of DODGEY and it is what really works for my kind of customers. Unfortunately I am not that good
good job. Help for customer, cheapest repair.
ive done that 2 times for customer becouse imagine you buy new cable and screen and you will find out that gpu is dead by short... so, this is the best way to fix this kind of problem
Deeeeeep down inside, I agree 100%. The screen isn’t broken, so why replace it? And any soldered connection is 100x better than the best connector ever made. It’s not like this will have to ever be unplugged unless the screen dies and when that time comes, the new cable won’t add anything significant to the parts bill, imo. I wish there were more people that actually repair vs. loading the parts cannon. Or worse, decide it’s “economically” not worth fixing and creating a mich bigger problem. I applaud you! 👏
Great Repair Sorin . I learn a lot from watching your videos. Thank You for sharing your electronic knowledge .
I love the way you fix things here, you really are the best
Excellent job
Sorin is great at saving people money.
21:30 "It was at this momen he knew he ffffff up"🤣 Anyways good job ! Love your vids
Didn't you hear me screaming: "Disconnect the battery!" 🤣🤣🤣🙃🙃🙃
Great video, I really liked it and made me smile. And I have to admit this was the way to go! Very smart move.
Perfect! Good job!
That was an easy job. Thank you Sorin, have a nice week!🤗
Sorin`s easy jobs are not easy at all😀😀
Good job mate 👍
That was... comedy and drama and horror mixed with honest wisdom about the decisions that are necessary some times. Everyone knows they'd prefer to just replace the screen and connector and be done but as you said, it wouldn't have gotten the device fixed and the customer happy. You've done a very sketchy thing but it works and will continue to work.
It's a dodgy repair if it lasts a few days, that job will last forever! Well done! :-D
Thank you sorin.
Well, it all depends on the prices from each country. A laptop like that, used, in Romania is about 150-170£. A repair like that is around 50£, but a new display + ribbon is around 80-90£. So here, mostly, client would buy screend+ ribbon, because he will get 2years of warranty.
Thank you for teaching life lesson of how to be in profit always
agree 100%, dodgy repair with hot glue also from Sorin, what else can you ask for?
Perfect fix. You saved a lot of money for the customer with the exactly same result that if he had wasted one hundred more pounds :-)
sad thing is, Sorin says multiple times that "this is a cheap one" and I don't blame him, but the "Envy" is supposed to be HPs more premium line of laptops
Thought exactly the same!
I saw Envy and then Sorin says cheap laptop
I'm laughing 🤣
Yes, but this one is about 10 years old. Speaks for the premium laptop, living so long. But a 10 year old Laptop will be cheap, yes.
@@Steakbroetchen it's old, but not cheap
@@Steakbroetchen that's a 2015-2016 model i think, so not quite 10 years old. Anyway, I'm sure Sorin meant cheap because it all looks like cheap plastic and the screen is bent like that, which shouldn't happen on a well made machine. HP pavilions have always been a bit bottom of the barrel when it comes to build quality, but you'd expect the envy to be better
Dodgy repair and hot glue, my favorites 🤟
I would do EXACTLY like you!
awesome repairs like always, love it
I dont know why so much hate against so calle "dodgy" repairs. Its fixed and less waste. I do the same thing. If i can fix something that i iknow is still good. I will allways do the same as Sorin. Its better for nature cheaper for customer and faster.
i fell good knowing it will be good.
Excellent job the best
😄it was clear in the moment i saw the screen cable light up in thermocam
thanks for great videos
Doubtful? If it works well? Yes; then, it is a smart repair and more importantly (cheap and without delay). All the best.
I always wait for this moment: We have PIKCHUR!!
Great Job
The second video you've done within a week with the same issue. Is this a common issue when liquid gets into that area? It looked so similar to the last video I almost thought I was making a mistake and rewatching the first. Why do they send two wires with the same voltage? is it redundancy? I'm just trying to understand why you say you could solder one or both. Anyway, I am now a fan so I will continue to watch your videos. Thanks!
10 to 1 the screen is warped like that because the user always lifts the screen from the left corner when they open it.
Another gr8 video
The dodgiest part was the nail cutter in action 😄
Of course i would fix it like that....changing the connector is 10x harder and more expensive and time consuming.
Easy fix for me, east fix for the customer 😀
Yeah, you have to look at the price level. Like people say you should replace ALL caps if one is bad, but if it's a $10 item it's stupid to throw $30 worth of caps at it, ie, just change the faulty ones.
Excellent job as usual, I'm wondering why you change you mind and switch to stand alone thermal camera
Sorins favorite repair lol. And gets to use hot glue lmfao. Love your channel 👍👍👍 the master of dodgy repair
Money is not the issue. It comes to you for repair.
LOL "perfect, we can sell this screen on eBay" it's worth watching even if just for the jokes.
Better than factory!
awesome repair , but why you leave mouse pointer in centre of the screen ?
Yes! I admit it!
I would give the customer the option of either repair. But they will almost always go for the same option you have shown
doin‘ the same, you are right. but one thing: you always say 0.07 a instead of the real reading 00.7 a (just as an example). it‘s ok, but a bit confusing. nice job, though
@electronicsrepairschool Sorin, the truth is.. many do not know the difference between "REPAIR" and "REPLACE" - to me, if it is safe and works reliably, then it is good and repair is sufficient. why do or pay more?
Easy money Sorin, dodgy repair for the win. But you are right , it is a waste to buy a screen for this laptop
in the words of NRF “we did a great job”! But not quite “Better than factory” 😂
Hahahah i swear i was like ... Soooriiin nooo the battery noo 🤣🤣🤣
Nice fix, did you clean that cpu heatsink too?
and the weird part is that the bent screen don't have a crack , spot and not even a single line and works fines showing clear picture.
Dejavu or what ! 👍
Sorin = The master of disasters. 🤣🤣🤣
Why you should disconnect the battery before doing soldering?
ooey gooey hot glue. Puuurfect!
Exactly. Nobody is going to pay more for a repair than it takes to replace it. That is how everything is being built now. To throw it away and get you to get a new one.
You've found a way to get around that scam. The thing that you have to watch out for though, is the sue happy clowns that will swear that your repair job had something to do with their faulty space heater burning their house down, even though the laptop was in a completely different room than the space heater where the fire started.
thanks very much sir for learning new type of Technic routes to learn sir can i ask a question i have a doubt on my mind please clarify sir when checking a laptop motherboard with dc power supply probes like 19v for shorting etc do we need to disconnect the battery power from motherboard and check dc power or can we directly check with 19 v power supply is this right please clarify me sir my sake
Perfect 💪💪💪
OMG!
Looks Shorted Mosfet initially, and then there goes a shorted screen cable connector. 🥺🥺🥺
No hot glue? We're disappointed it happened 😂
Hp Envy should be a premium line of laptops
its an old cheap laptop...this is probably the once way that make any sense!! and its a great job...
this is were experience cash out! you and the costumer!
Captain dodgy riders again 🤣🏇🤠
The OCD in me will say NO but the reality is that new laptop screens have thin flex cables directly connected to the display so we can look at this as an "upgrade"... lol
When Toshiba did great laptops, many of you buyed hp or other craps, now that toshiba don't make anymore laptops, reliable laptops all cry that you don't find anymore good quality ones,a toshiba satellite i used 7 years and after more 9 i discovered the hdd and recovered my photos
👍👍🙂du bist einfach der beste
hello can you please upgrade the digital camera quality ? thanks
I have an HP elitebook 2540p with caps and num lock blinking 5 times. The fan is spinning rapidly and the screen is black.I have unplugging battery RAMs cleaning/Changing and other device support solutions but nothing. Please help.
I would ask the customer, if he want the quick an cheap job or if he wants new, connector and cable, wait a liitle and pay more. His choice.
That’s a nice job I do it never like that I order a new screen and cabel a you pay a big award 😂
Hi if its not a problem, can you say how much would you charge for a job like this?
I see "dodgy repair" and click on it immediately. :)
Good work sir
Please I have a lenovo thinkpad laptop and it's currently running on Window's 7 in ssd but when I put hard drive or bookable pen drive it stuck at Windows logo please what should I do
What are the odds two laptops with the same problems 🤦
They build things to break so you buy a new one..
Хах,на батарейке то стоит РСТ сертификация, как он к нему попал в руки вообще)
Nice
wasnt the fan plugged with fuzz?...thus the heat sink veins would be full of cat hair.
❤️
What would hapen if wires are sheilded ?
Better than faktory
