Sorin, make a Medicat USB so you can test everything with your own OS, without having to ask the customer for their password. Specially with cases with mechanical drivers that takes ages to open and test things like that.
Love to watch opening the laptop. It’s part of the repair that is important. You show us the way to do it. And it’s not boring you talking us about it what can be the trouble so long is also good

Yeah, you can definitely do that. However, if you log into the computer, you could fix other problems as well.
not every laptop actually, some laptop need an exact driver to get the sound working, an ISST audio, or macbooks

Hi, You can test with a USB Ubuntu installer, with try Ubuntu (with the Hard drive connected or not) "try Ubuntu" is a fully funtional OS. Also you can access the Windows partitions with it if the Hard drive is connected. I even use it for quick backups when Windows is damaged (because you can add the programs you need while you use it)

Shame that you ignored the burnt 'thing' at 15:00. I am curious what that was about. It just looks like wire rather than a component and the white marking on the board suggest that there could or should be 2 components running horizontally.

You always put power on the laptop. You know there is water damage. You can blowup more than have to be. I was first open and clean before I put the power on. It’s saver.

You can always use Linux live USB to test sound, Wifi, etc. Or you can easily enable the Administrator account in Windows, run your tests, and in then make the Administrator account inactive again.

Make a live Linux mint USB,you run it without hard drive,and can test all subsystems,even run the ''yes"command to stress test the CPU.Also a memtest USB to test the ram sticks and the CPU (not full load) at the same time.

To test the sound, wifi and other peripheral i prefer use usb live boot with lightweight Linux, instead of asking for password.
yes half of video is opening the screws but they can forward video and watch and learn how to fix in 5 minutes if they recognize this. i always forward to the best parts and it takes no time to watch
