I'm glad the last video was addressed. I love that Lawrence has decided to play the devil's advocate and represent both sides of the aisle. I do hope that you still give your opinion though, it wouldn't be the same without Lawdog's input.
This podcast is amazing. Starts out talking about Fortnight and the trend-y nature of games and movies and other media, to deep insight into the human condition and how different that experience is for each person. These kind of conversations are such a joy to listen to and be a part of.
Have nothing against different points of view. It allows you to see different thought process. But that was poorly thought out last week. And they instead of doing research on the topic felt it was a good time to push alt left ideology instead. Not something they should be proud of.
Lawrence put a damp paper towel or dish towel under your cutting board and it will be still. Just a tip to help you save money and not buy another cutting board
Fortnite Battle Royale is a lot more polished as well as free, comparing that to a buggy, relatively unoptimized pay for game, Fortnite wins in that regard. PUBG also barely adds anything new that changes the gameplay or adds a new meta.
Solaxe S nah there’s a lot of depth with positioning and building but it’s mostly quick thinking and mechanical skills. It doesn’t take as much patience as PUBG and isn’t quite as deep but there are other skillsets that aren’t present in PUBG. Fortnite isn’t just a simplified PUBG, the core games are actually pretty different. It’s pretty cool to see two BR games that are different and great coexist rather than watching a new one be the mostly the same game but objectively better like when H1Z1 got replaced by PUBG
Yeah the building in fortnite is a blessing and a curse . Even if I catch someone by surprise they build a fort the size of the pentagon. Its hard to kill someone when building is prioritized more than looting/killing. Pubg is just slower but fun as well.
Fortnite does incentivize you more to go kill people with their loot system and facilitates way more fighting. Camping is only viable once you have great gear, and building a fortress makes you a huge target. PUBG rewards not engaging anyone until the last circle as long as you have half decent stuff. In Fortnite you usually have to go hunting to find good stuff to bring into the endgame. Plus the early game is fun if you're pretty good at fortnite, since you can go find so much action and leave your looting place with 5+ kills right off the bat. Pretty good contrast.
I love Adam having fun with all the shit storm stuff. The best thing to do is make small little jokes and jabs to make sure you center yourself and learn from the past. I love funhaus and hope this develops them further to greater heights of comedy.
My only problem with the last podcast was James saying that a historically accurate game shouldn’t be historically accurate because it was a game. The topic and the rest of the podcast were fine and good, it was just difficult to listen to someone saying games can’t be historically accurate.
Jon Baxter That’s what I kind of got from it. I embrace equality in anything but if there wasn’t any coloured people in that place and time period and there trying to make it as historically accurate as they can then I don’t think it makes sense to just include someone just for the sake of including it.
Randomgamer666 James made clear in a previous podcast when talking about story in video games that he sees video games as an inferior form of art concerning story compared to movie and book so I feel his opinion on historical accuracy stems from the same thought.
Matthew Mallon Seems a bit of a weird opinion to have on a channel about Video Games. I think games can be art just as much as movies and books can, it’s playable art.
Randomgamer666 I think it's weird perspective to have on a gaming channel too but then again he has much more insider look then I do so I'm sure that could have given him a more jaded view of the industry.
Lawrence, put a damp cloth underneath your cutting board. It's what we do in the kitchen and it works like a charm. Better than rubber feet cause you can use both sides of the board now. Also, 'cutting board oil' is bs, you can use sunfloweroil or some other neutral oil. Hope you get to read this still!
I love hearing all of this talk about movies, it’s so interesting to hear your guys’ ideas, makes me want to annotate movies I watch and look for the deeper meanings
Nice to see you dont even adress what 90% of the criticism was about. James' bizzare opinion that games shouldnt be historically accurate because they are an inferior form of art to movies and books and that developers should sacrifice historical accuracy for the comfort of American audiences.
Methodofication if the comment show was any indication they'll never apologise or address the core issue directly. They'll just beat around the bush or maybe even sarcastically mock. just read James's post on the subreddit.
I thought the overall progression of the conversation led to the conclusion that the game was historically accurate to the degree of the developers intention. Meaning that the developer chose not to represent certain parties because from the knowledge obtained said parties were not necessarily holding residence in the given area and resources were put to use elsewhere. Cant say I'm invested in the conversation at all though. No need to respond, just food for thought.
I get what James was saying and as a black guy myself I agree to a certian point but I also get why some people would disagree and thats fine. Thats the pont of discussions to see how we all think even if its a difference of opinion.
Holy shit. I LOVED Tank Girl. That shit was my entire middle school experience, lmao. I even shaved my head, had crazy ass Chelsea-styled hair. The soundtrack fucking rocks, just in case anyone was wondering.
Pretty disappointing that Lawrence felt like he had to apologise, he did a fine job on the last Podcast, it's James that should be apologising for the comments he made, "The white man's tale has been told" etc
But the problem of the last episode wasnt that the topic was sjw themed... it was that James said that people should throw out historical accuracy in favor of inclusion
Not just that but he doesn't say that to every game. Just the ones with white people in it. You never heard him cry about Dynasty warriors not being multicultural. Which is why people go after him. The "it's ok to be anti white but everything else is wrong" thought is what bothers people as well. Especially on a gaming comedy channel that's not suppose to be pushing ideology.
Harabusa200 You're totally wrong, just because the title had the word "racist," it doesn't mean it is sjw themed. SJW's don't have a monopoly on social issues. Also, Funhaus were discussing about a game's public reception, not the implication. As for historical accuracy, they have said in the podcast that not all historians. They didn't flat out say to throw out historical accuracy, but only favored games that applied inclusion.
It's good to hear some response, and having a the other side of an arguement represented is definitely welcomed. Some of the comments from last week about America not being the only country in the world, were the important ones.
Lawrence shouldn't have apologized, and James shouldn't have acted like anything he said was construed. James definitely said creators need to shoehorn things in to make everyone feel accepted. Regardless of what kind of game they were trying to make. Then acted like the creator was in the wrong, or racist. For making the game they wanted. Then, was again wrong, or racist for defending the thing they made. Also, saying that video games aren't realistic. So no one should try to make a realistic game, because it's racist apparently. Was definitely James's consensus. Unfortunately, it was not the game James thought they were supposed to make though. So they are racist. Pretty sure even Bruce was saying similar. Except he at least countered with "but this is practically an indie dev, and I don't know how much that shit costs." Which is why (at least from the comments I saw) No one was specifically mad at Bruce. The whole "Telling the white man's tale." thing. Was probably the only legimately racist thing anyone said, or quoted in the whole podcast. James can have his opinion, but "The pot calling the kettle black." definitely makes him an idiot. You can't constantly spout "Equality for everyone." then follow up with "Except Whitey." That's not how that shit works. And that's not an opinion. Equality definitively means everyone is equal. The conclusion here. Is not that I am mad. Not for the sake of a game I've not played (and probably won't play) or the FACT that James was the only actual racist in all of this. But that there were that many people in the room, and no one disagreed.
Who Cares Yes, Equality. The concept of all sides having the same treatment/representations/opportunities. "The White Man's Tale has been told" is a statement, and hardly just one man's opinion. The White Man's Tale has indeed been told many a time, and it is also indeed very wrong to suggest that it should never be told again. The point being, what equality calls for in this entertainment climate/industry is the inclusion of more stories besides the White Man's. Stories that have not been heard as often, that many people could identify better or more easily with. Any people's tale should have the chance to be told and shared with the world. Equally.
I think James went into the discusson with a very American-based mindset. Europe isn't dealing with race issues to the same extent that the U.S. is, so to basically categorize all Europeans under a "white" umbrella is something a lot of them will disagree with. Europe consists of a lot of different countries with each their own cultures and history, so to change a game (about the former history of the Czech Republic, developed by a Czech video game developer - a.k.a. they are trying to tell a story about their own country's past) solely to fit an American "racial diversification" agenda is just laughable and stupid, at least to me. In the end, I guess the developers could care less about what other people think about their game. They've made the game they wanted to make, to tell a story they wanted to tell, so they probably won't listen to criticism about racial issues anyways.
Being white isn't a side, being black isn't a side. You're not addressing the fact that identity based on skin color is a flawed concept. Everyone's experience in life is different and people have different thoughts depending on their experiences. If equality is calling for historical re-visioning based on the ideas that you can't relate unless your skin color matches, that idea in of itself is very flawed. I don't see how you can possibly use the word equality to represent specifically caring about someone's skin color.
I've played PUBG and Fortnite on both console and PC and Fortnite is the easiest to access. Especially when it comes to new players; Fortnite is not the same as every other Battle Royale and thus, even pulls 'hardcore' players in. And although PUBG is still popular the game is always a 20 run to get killed. Fortnite on the other hand is a 20 minute run that looks better than a gritty military shooter. Cartoony > Gritty
I like how Lawrence handled that response I was not a fan of the confusing lopsided views brought up last episode, Although I'm not a fan of politics talk on funhaus and personal opinions the devils advocate approach should do well if handled as described.
I've always loved these guys and I honestly don't mind them having their own opinions just as I have my own. But yeah last week was kind of a ball buster since the only person who said anything positive about the game's historically accurate portrayal was Bruce, and he was basically just playing devil's advocate when he said that there might be people out there who have an almost ancestral connection to that time and place. Also, I like how Adam handled mentioning Alex Jones as a talk radio host because that's basically what he is, Lawrence flat out said if you listen to him, you probably shouldn't be listening to Dude Soup. I think Lawrence just needs to tone down the liberalness that he has going on, granted his own person twitter account is one thing, he can be as expressive as he'd like, but Funhaus is a business as a content creator he should tone it down a bit. And this is coming from a fan of the channel for years, even before this channel was a thing.
Agreed. Accept "I think" with twitter if it's a public account(which they all I have I've read the stuff plenty of times before) that the funhaus staff shouldn't be talking about anything but gaming, entertainment, and funhaus related stuff. If you work for any entertainment company they will hold you accountable for that stuff. Now if they want a private account for that kind of talk...sure why not. But publicly they just end up segregating a portion of the audience for ideology sake.
lastwolflord it’s lazy to just censor people, also pretty hypocritical of someone as conservative as you seem to be. If you disagree with something then fine, but they kind of had a point in the last video. There were links to people with their own agenda, but hay I mean game in general doesn’t really do anything bad so taking what I saw/heard in their podcast I really don’t care and might get the game just cause it’s kind of Skyrimy and I need something to scratch that itch but that’s about it.
They weren't offended at all. Nobody in the podcast said they were offended. They were talking about the reception of the game, and how they prefer games to develop in the future. I assume you were one of the trolls who barely watched the podcast, and got triggered by the title?
This was one of the best Dude Soups you guys have done. The last one you made was the only one I felt that you really... I wouldn't say you were wrong, because it's still your opinions, but It wasn't really what we are used to see you guys doing on this podcast. It didn't feel like a discussion like it usually is. Glad to see you guys back.
It's nice to see that Lawrence is actually trying, but, can we not see the issue with NEEDING someone to play devils advocate? Even though the vast majority of your own fans and gamers disagree with your views, you actually need to have someone play devils advocate because there's almost no one left in your industry brave enough to speak out. Colin Moriarty was basically the only non-progressive vocal member of gaming media, and he was driven out.
Lori Petty, who was in Point Break, who also starred Keanu Reeves, who was in Bill & Teds Bogus Journey, who also starred William Sadler, who was in Shawshank Redemption
James didn't really apologize. He accused people of taking him out of context. It's like he thinks no one watched the whole podcast and only saw a comment or two. The one thing he did apologize for was assuming culture only meant skin color. Which is great that he apologized for that but 4/5 of his "apology" was a Trump like argument of being taking out of context. Almost expected him to say fake news.
They seem to think people didn't actually disagree with their opinions, when a lot of people listened to it and strongly disagreed with their opinions. I think it's the common idea of I'm 100% right so anyone who disagrees obviously didn't understand me properly, which is wrong
Amber Onver I don't think he has to apologize unless he feels he was in the wrong. However he shouldn't act like he did apologize. Or make excuses about people taking him out of context. If he truly feels the way he has said he should just tell people that that's the way he feels and they are welcome to disagree. Instead he blames the audience and acts as through he apologized when he didn't.
You know he was talking about Slavic culture in the 1400's, right? Like he was talking about that particular period. Not contemporary slavic culture. Slavic culture from the Middle Ages is kinda dead, as is literally all culture from that era. Its been 600 fucking years.
Thanks for the exhaustive analysis on Annihilation, Lawrence. I had a pretty difficult time trying to deconstruct it myself, which is actually a pretty rare occurrence, but I think you laid it out really pointedly. The themes are quite flimsily delivered at times, but I really enjoyed the sort of ironic chaos that unfolds in the film.
TIL one of the guys from Starship Troopers is Gary Busey's son. Also, why is there a wheelchair in their office? What poor disabled employee are they bullying?
He was also the extremist who blows himself up in the alien device they build in "Contact" starring Jodie Foster. He was also in the UPN 90's comedy "Shasta McNasty", just in case anyone at all remembers that it was a thing.
The Fat Turtle Had to look up Shasta McNasty lol Based on the year it aired, I most likely watch commercials for it because I was watching Smackdown at the time. Seems like something they'd advertise during wrestling. Especially during the late 90s.
Lawrence is trying to make this an actual reputable debate podcast and it is a great move forward. I wouldn't mind formal structured debates between members. I think it would really allow for intelligent public discourse to shine. Love this direction.
He was talking about hungary and the Czech republic in the 1400s. Jesus. Find something better to whine about. Like the culture portrayed in kingdom come is a dead culture because its been 600 years since that culture. he didnt say shit about contemporary slavic culture.
My main issue is that the devs have somewhat of a history with the alt-right, gamergate and general asshollery. Then, a case can be made for the inclusion of other cultures, but the only such involvement is Turks you kill. While ordinarily Id be ok with the game, its these factors tying in together that causes such an issue. People being so upset with James stance just compounds to the issue. It makes the lack of diversity seem attributable to personal political beliefs as opposed to historical accuracy. In any case, you should try to look at the inclusion-thing more objectively. James brings up some interesting points, and you should try think about them from multiple perspectives. The "its just a game, a little bit of changing or playing up diversity cant hurt" is a good point as is the bit about it being nice to see general representation anyway. But like I said, the main issue is that the developers have a history with this thing. The game would be fine if not for the fact that the devs arent the most progressive people, shall we say? So it seems on purpose. And that is not ok.
Wasn't omar their person of color in that video? I don't see any people of color anymore. And James is an active participant. What a fucking trump supporting bigoted racist nazi.
I played PUBG for a little while when it came out, 20+ hours. It didn't hook me in, the battle royale concept was cool, but super random and frustrating a lot of the time. about 2 months ago a friend of mine asked me if I was playing fortnite on xbox and I laughed a little but then started playing with him. I am now in the middle of one of the biggest addictions I've ever come across in life, and I'm 35 years old. Win or lose, the game is just pure fun. The skill ceiling in fortnite is so much higher than PUBG. I've played a ton and i'm still terrible, but it doesn't matter, the game is just super fun to play over and over again.
not even counting how fun it is to watch the best players. they play the game on a whole different level. an average PUBG player, can play pretty similar to the pro's, they just miss more shots, maybe get caught in bad spots more. The average fortnite player can't even imagine playing like the top guys.
Gosh darn it, I really hope Adam is wearing an old pair of jeans. The thought of people, particularly men, buying pre-ripped jeans really grinds my gears. The same effect can be achieved with a Stanley knife (other craft knives are available) and a cheaper pair of jeans.
L-dawg, you guys can formulate your own opinions based on your experiences. Don't apologize for speaking your mind at the time, the last podcast was fine. Also, I'm guessing James did legs today?Or he is mocking the differently abled maybe?
Jon- E it's not differently abled when in a wheelchair, isn't that just crippled or handicapped. Differently abled would just be like autism or asperger syndrome. Nice try on being politically correct though.
I dunno bro, but when you google the definition of differently abled, it gives disabled. I would prefer if you would call me grammatically correct over politically correct. Cripples have had it too easy for too long! I wish I could sit down all day... Oh wait...
I really don't mean to sound like a total jackass here but isn't the Movie Podcast the...you know MOVIE PODCAST?Not that I mind have a Dude Soup episode that is an hour and a half but I guess what I'm saying is that it feels like "if you are going to just talk about whatever and go on for so long on a movie why have another show dedicated to movie talk?".I don't know, feels weird to me.Still gonna watch it but still.
Last weeks episode aside Funhaus fans have to get used to the fact that the jokes they make based in racism, sexism etc. Arent their actual views because when they actually express progressive ideals it catches people by surprise and leads to overreactions
V Dude, seriously? Did you see these Neanderthals (alt-right) comments during that specific podcast? I think I can live with myself, if they can with their vitriol to differing opinions that doesn't cater to them specifically.
Larry my man, I got a cutting board tip for ya if the cutting board you're using doesn't have rubber feet to prevent slippage. Wet a kitchen towel, fold it up and place it under the cutting board on a dry surface.
None of them should have to apologize for anything, it's his opinion, the comments complain about them not being open minded but refuse to be open minded about the opinions of Funhaus, which is even more ironic since the basis of James' argument is that it's good to be open minded and accepting of other people
Ein Xilrus it's pretty simple, some people can be of the opinion that historical accuracy is important, some people can be of the opinion that it's not, I don't understand what "facts" have to do with anything in this context
Of course they should apologise. When you have a public platform with an outreach to millions (many of which are young and susceptible to the spread of misinformation) you have a duty to make your opinions informed ones. If they are not, you run the risk of giving your opinion without having any true knowledge of the subject matter. Knowledge is power and a lack of it is dangerous.
brownguy903 The game has a codex that gets updated with information whenever you encounter something relevant to real history (eg. "Women In The Middle Ages" when your character encounters his first noble woman). Yes, in a way, the game is like an interactive history textbook.
damp clothe under your chopping board causes to to slip less ,especially if your cutting board gets wet underneath. You also then have a clothe ready to wipe things off when you're done.
If your cutting board is sliding around what you can do is dampen a kitchen towel, lay it on the counter then put the cutting board on top of it (doesn't work well with those flimsy plastic boards, only the thicker harder ones).
They are both unfinished, low effort, minimum content, streamer bait, early access cash grabs squabbling over a fad seeking audience. Dry your panties, battle royal is just the next hot term like zombies, open world, survival, or military shooter.
Johnny Bandana Yeah he doesn't. He says it has too much cut scenes and is much better to be a movie rather than a game. But I bet my left nutsack that he did not even played the game.
I didnt like Last of Us either. I think he has a valid reason too. Stories are crucial to video games, but just as much as fun gameplay. Last of Us just wasnt fun, but the world is incredible. I think his arguments have merit to the game
I didnt mind the last episode. People are too sensitive nowadays and react emotionally when they disagree rather than digest content with given or even unsaid context before they express theyre opinion. Good on you to apologise though
TheJakemia that’s the problem people are too sensitive so we can’t have historically accurate video games if they don’t include black people because white people get offended on their behalf
People either way have major fomo now or even more a fear of not being represented and others trying to compensate that. Personally, i dont need my content to reach out purposely to make me feel thought of because i dont need that to be immersed in a game. If there is a good enough reason geographically that i wouldn't see a certain race in a game it would be even weirder to see them just because the creators felt they should be inclusive. Also fortnite over pubg
I agree. Fuck those people who want to develop a game that tries to historically represent their country and culture. We need more white people who hang out with like two minorities to tell them how to make their passion projects.
I do not watch your videos for your informational take on social and political politics; I tune in because you guys are a welcome repose from the unwelcome opinions people share these days in an attempt for individuality. Deciding to get more serious will hurt your format. I see you guys as satire mostly, but tackling big issues will open you all up for controversy where people will take ALL of your words as gospel toward each of your character.
Adam's shirt is awesome! Can we get that?! BENSON! Adam blocked Benson 😭 Edit: Read the description; personally don't think you guys need to apologise for your opinions but hey, cool on you guys for caring nontheless 😊
jojj334Q Yeah. I don’t think they need to apologise. I think the dislikes in the last video were not showing the podcast didn’t have any quality. I think that people were disliking it just to show they didn’t agree with some of the opinions and that’s perfectly fine. I myself respect both their opinions and the opinions of most of the people on the comments. If they want to present subjects in a more light way that’s ok but they shouldn’t censor themselves. Just keep doing the good work they are doing. These podcasts are perfect to listen while grinding for money on GTA.
What a terrible apology. You guys don't even have to apologize, just acknowledge you were being morons but that "apology" was an attempt to shift the blame and you completely ignored the actual problem people had man
It was an issue, what's not an issue is the idea that the people complaining somehow are super right wing for that voicing their grievances. It was a pretty normal, sensible opinion that art should not be censored and that historical accuracy can be important and is not to be messed with in the context of these guys art. I am a liberal as they come european and I was unpleased by the weird way they talked about it.
Good luck on being responsible Lawrence and showing all sides. Is anybody on the staff not completely indoctrinated in Alt left ideology? Or have the courage to say something that doesn't blow the SJW world? And actually dares to question it! Call me impressed if you can do that.
Some constructive criticism for you guys from me. I understand you use clickbait titles for your podcasts and I can make my peace with it. What I don't like is when you make a clickbait title for a podcast then spend 20 minutes on that topic. I like fortnite, I want to hear you guys talk about it in this podcast because its in the title. If I wanted to hear random thoughts on movies and you guys talking about whatever is on your mind I'd go listen to the rooster teeth podcast or your movie podcast. At the end of the day you guys are a gaming channel and if you have a podcast with a title talking about games you should talk about that game right? Just my thoughts
Fortnite did a great job reaching out to the youth. It’s s great game to have people play for many hours without being submitted to bloody violence. I have a friend who has been sheltered by her/his parents for a long time but she can play this
Honestly I didn’t see anything wrong with last podcast and I didn’t necessarily agree with what everyone was saying at all times... I think a bunch of the viewers from that episode just have the emotional intelligence of children and couldn’t handle their views being challenged.
But it seems there are a minority of us, who saw the last podcast as another podcast. Funhaus' argument's weren't that strong, but they reasoned their opinions well, which is what I usually expect.
Adam, what you were going for on Andrew Weir's comments about the winds was that the air on Mars is so thin that despite the winds moving very quickly, they do not have enough force as to knockdown the escape shuttle. Still a great book and movie though.
Should mothers still be aware?.....
Jarron Dragonshade Top 10 questions science still can't answer...
Jarron Dragonshade You’re goddamn right
Jarron Dragonshade absolutely
Jarron Dragonshade constantly
Is...is yours not... aware?
Adams water containers keep getting bigger and bigger one day he will have his own tank truck
he has a bigger one than that before
I feel for Adam though, I always snack on something and am constantly thirsty lol
Well I made an observation not talking shit , what he is doing is what I am trying to do and we all should do anyways. Water is always good and if specially if you are on the gym gym like he is water is life! And your kidneys appreciate it
Nuhuh he’s just getting smaller
I think his next evolution we will see is him just floating in a water tank like Luke in the Bacta tank from Empire Strikes Back
I'm glad the last video was addressed. I love that Lawrence has decided to play the devil's advocate and represent both sides of the aisle. I do hope that you still give your opinion though, it wouldn't be the same without Lawdog's input.
BOSK doesn’t he usually play devils advocate though, I guess know he’ll do it more often?
Now*
They don't have to apologize, it's their content, they can do what they want but yeah last week was awful. Really turned me off.
Am I the only one here that finds it hilarious that all these white goofs are crying about their views not being represented?
I agree! Keep up the great work Lawrence!
This podcast is amazing. Starts out talking about Fortnight and the trend-y nature of games and movies and other media, to deep insight into the human condition and how different that experience is for each person. These kind of conversations are such a joy to listen to and be a part of.
I love the fact that Lawrence is getting more conscious of being open minded I think it's awesome that he wants to start structuring the show that way
I think he wants to try. But when the whole staff seems to want to push liberal ideology. At least the major members..... well good luck.
seen you comment at least three times about this on this video. just let it go man. don't watch if you don't like hearing a differing opinion.
Have nothing against different points of view. It allows you to see different thought process. But that was poorly thought out last week. And they instead of doing research on the topic felt it was a good time to push alt left ideology instead. Not something they should be proud of.
Exactly.
Med jed you sound incredibly insecure
Lawrence put a damp paper towel or dish towel under your cutting board and it will be still. Just a tip to help you save money and not buy another cutting board
TheTechnicalKnockOu7 Pro tip right there. 😀
Definitely a good tip unless you have wood counter tops and you forgot about it.
pro tip no2, keep your wood counter tops waxed often
i just commented this. glad to see it's already been posted.

I have a feeling 'press A to jump' is going to become a bit of a meme from this point on
I love hearing all of this talk about movies, it’s so interesting to hear your guys’ ideas, makes me want to annotate movies I watch and look for the deeper meanings
What’s the point of addressing that? That was his opinion. If you don’t agree with it, you don’t agree with it and it ends there.
You can read James’ post on r/funhaus if you’d like. He addressed it there.
I love fortnite. Free game, great content, awesome develops with amazing community interaction. Games done right ✅
Is the pve portion of the game free as well, or just the battle royal part?
You forgot the fact that it's a copy of PUBG.
He didnt forget, he just doesn't care just like anyone else.
Filipe Herbert And that matters because?... There are no original games anymore.
Filipe Herbert so, in that case pubg is a copy of the culling and h1z1
Pretty disappointing that Lawrence felt like he had to apologise, he did a fine job on the last Podcast, it's James that should be apologising for the comments he made, "The white man's tale has been told" etc
Yeah, I agree. I feel like James doesn't realise how stupid his comments were.
To be fair, Lawrence said that line.
He already kinda did on reddit. www.reddit.com/r/funhaus/comments/7zruh3/this_is_not_about_the_podcast/?st=je8mq0br&sh=0ce81fc9
Ugh stopppp
Jake Brown he did say sorry on Reddit
But the problem of the last episode wasnt that the topic was sjw themed... it was that James said that people should throw out historical accuracy in favor of inclusion
I think they handled it as well as Californians could be expected to handle it.
Thats James for you, seems like a nice guy but looking at some of his political rants on twitter just makes any sane persons brain hurt.
Yeah he looks at the view very skewed
Harabusa200 You're totally wrong, just because the title had the word "racist," it doesn't mean it is sjw themed. SJW's don't have a monopoly on social issues. Also, Funhaus were discussing about a game's public reception, not the implication. As for historical accuracy, they have said in the podcast that not all historians. They didn't flat out say to throw out historical accuracy, but only favored games that applied inclusion.
It's good to hear some response, and having a the other side of an arguement represented is definitely welcomed.
Some of the comments from last week about America not being the only country in the world, were the important ones.
But, you press A to jump
Artarius Aurelius Geez I briefly got annoyed by that comment lol.
Why do ppl care if games are bad? they are just games its not real life LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
"Having a story in games is dumb"
I think you mean X to jump
(x) is for doubt
Who Cares
Yeah
Agree. I watched the video straight through. I don't think anyone was taken out of context or misunderstood.
Who Cares
Yes, Equality.
What would James prefer: Elyse body with Malibu head or Malibu body with Elyse head?
Malibu head with Malibu body
Good on Lawrence for addressing last week's pod!
I like how Lawrence handled that response I was not a fan of the confusing lopsided views brought up last episode, Although I'm not a fan of politics talk on funhaus and personal opinions the devils advocate approach should do well if handled as described.
lol..yea it took them 13 minutes to already start pushing anti white liberal ideology. But it's a "joke".
Is that your attempt at shaming me? Kind of lazy. You got anything better? I would bet you didn't even watch last weeks podcast.
lastwolflord it’s lazy to just censor people, also pretty hypocritical of someone as conservative as you seem to be. If you disagree with something then fine, but they kind of had a point in the last video. There were links to people with their own agenda, but hay I mean game in general doesn’t really do anything bad so taking what I saw/heard in their podcast I really don’t care and might get the game just cause it’s kind of Skyrimy and I need something to scratch that itch but that’s about it.
god i love lawrence
not sarcasm, he's pretty damn cool.
"go put some tinfoil on your head" That cracked me up. I loved that.
I think this was an appropriate response to last week's podcast. No apology needed just a discussion about what happened. Good shit big boy.
James for your cutting board just use countersunk holes so that the removable dish sits flush with the cutting board
This is why lawrence is my favourite.
Because he buckled to his snowflake viewers?
tubepunksheep lol. If anything, funhaus themselves were the "snowflakes" being offended at something so small. Nice try though
They weren't offended at all. Nobody in the podcast said they were offended. They were talking about the reception of the game, and how they prefer games to develop in the future. I assume you were one of the trolls who barely watched the podcast, and got triggered by the title?
Bruce is the best, but Lawrence is my favorite.
y'all are bringing wayyyy too much politics into this channel.
This was one of the best Dude Soups you guys have done. The last one you made was the only one I felt that you really... I wouldn't say you were wrong, because it's still your opinions, but It wasn't really what we are used to see you guys doing on this podcast. It didn't feel like a discussion like it usually is. Glad to see you guys back.
goddamn, Elyse is a major snack
It's nice to see that Lawrence is actually trying, but, can we not see the issue with NEEDING someone to play devils advocate? Even though the vast majority of your own fans and gamers disagree with your views, you actually need to have someone play devils advocate because there's almost no one left in your industry brave enough to speak out. Colin Moriarty was basically the only non-progressive vocal member of gaming media, and he was driven out.
Wreck it Ralph is Bruce's spirit animal
Pro tip: just lay a slightly damp wash cloth flat under your cutting board. Doesn't slip or slide.
the first 4 minutes are gold, talking about shitty movies and stuff like an episode from their GTA5 race gameplays
Elyse is a beautiful priceless gem with fire rhymes
Baby Groot is a cutting, therefore a clone. God I'm lame
Silver Surfman Did bio at college (UK), let's be lame together
Apetor is love
As Obi-Wan said to Luke: The white guilt is strong in this one
What's wrong with being guilty for being white? Did you see Sheev throw Mace out the side of his office?
I'm so proud of Lawrence made a reference to samurai champloo at 21:30
Wow for the first time I truly had no idea what the fuck your opening banter was
Lori Petty, who was in Point Break, who also starred Keanu Reeves, who was in Bill & Teds Bogus Journey, who also starred William Sadler, who was in Shawshank Redemption
The Groot thing honestly does bother me
Lawrence looking in even more shape than usual!
There shouldn't be a debate about a historical game being historically accurate.
DayZ - spark the attention to the genre...
H1Z1 - improved the genre...
PUBG - popularized the genre...
Fortnite - made it fun.
I don't know why James should apologise. It's his opinion and it's not a bad one.
Yeah dont fuck around you just dont like someone you look up to criticising something you enjoy.
I want Adams shirt! It's not in the shop though...
Lawrence, a method I use is to put a damp/wet paper towel/real towel under the chopping board. It prevents the chopping board from moving
The Fat Turtle
Had to look up Shasta McNasty lol
Based on the year it aired, I most likely watch commercials for it because I was watching Smackdown at the time.
James literally said Hungary and the Czech republic are dead cultures" We have nothing to apologize for".I love you guys but c'mon.
They live in LA - Decomposing festering butthole of the western world XD Budapest and Prague are gorgeous so don't take it personally, feel ya
Im not even from either country. I just have some common sense haha
He was talking about hungary and the Czech republic in the 1400s. Jesus. Find something better to whine about. Like the culture portrayed in kingdom come is a dead culture because its been 600 years since that culture. he didnt say shit about contemporary slavic culture.
Fine, but do you believe history should be rewritten even if its the history of the dead culture?
The change from Jak and Daxter to Jak 2 because of GTA3 is a classic example of that trend.
Is Funhaus racist? I dont see any black man there
JD ok
Clearly funhaus isn't diverse enough and should try to be more raci- I mean inclusive in their hiring.
JD that’s why they have Tyrone
Wasn't omar their person of color in that video? I don't see any people of color anymore. And James is an active participant. What a fucking trump supporting bigoted racist nazi.
he doesnt support Trump you dip shit
After hearing Elyse’s rap, I think the whole crew of Funhaus should recreate the infamously cringy “the Jackal” scene from the West Wing.
YES!!
Jon- E what about Lpha dawg, dawg.
Oh wait...
I was so clueless the first ten min
I really don't mean to sound like a total jackass here but isn't the Movie Podcast the...you know MOVIE PODCAST?Not that I mind have a Dude Soup episode that is an hour and a half but I guess what I'm saying is that it feels like "if you are going to just talk about whatever and go on for so long on a movie why have another show dedicated to movie talk?".I don't know, feels weird to me.Still gonna watch it but still.
And yes I know Lawrence explained it at the end but I felt like I needed to say it anyway.
Evolution isn't random, the process is known as natural selection.
Soo we're sorry but we're actually not
Can't believe it's been two years. That Dude Soup Intro is so nostalgic.
Last weeks episode aside Funhaus fans have to get used to the fact that the jokes they make based in racism, sexism etc. Arent their actual views because when they actually express progressive ideals it catches people by surprise and leads to overreactions
This is pretty true. James used to make racist jokes a lot pretty seriously before...
Yeah, it's weird how butthurt racists get when they find out that other people don't actually share their worldviews.
James' face while Adam was going on about Jimmy Fallon. Priceless.
I love how not even in the first 15 Adam already has to damage control this podcast
Kind of sad it takes him to wrangle in the alt left stuff when Bruce who runs funhaus seems to not be able to do it.
lastwolflord why should they they make stuff they want to make not stuff for everyone
J. Ruiz why all the hostility against people you don't even know dude?
V
Dude, seriously?
Did you see these Neanderthals (alt-right) comments during that specific podcast?
I think I can live with myself, if they can with their vitriol to differing opinions that doesn't cater to them specifically.
J. Ruiz Jayden?
Nug King lmao you're acting as if the games an interactive history textbook chill tf out
Of course they should apologise.
Yes, in a way, the game is like an interactive history textbook.
brownguy903 thats only half the point. Calling all white culture the same thing is a stupid ass wrong opinion
damp clothe under your chopping board causes to to slip less ,especially if your cutting board gets wet underneath. You also then have a clothe ready to wipe things off when you're done.
EVERYONE plays this game now that there’s a BR mode, but back when it was just plain ol’ Fortnite, no one played it. Including me!
If your cutting board is sliding around what you can do is dampen a kitchen towel, lay it on the counter then put the cutting board on top of it (doesn't work well with those flimsy plastic boards, only the thicker harder ones).
fortnite is great, better than PUBG
different is the correct word.
They are both unfinished, low effort, minimum content, streamer bait, early access cash grabs squabbling over a fad seeking audience. Dry your panties, battle royal is just the next hot term like zombies, open world, survival, or military shooter.
Yeah, atropabelladonna12 here only plays the finest video games. These cash grab games are simply below his astonishing taste for this true art form.
I have not played either game, but I do enjoy watching gameplay from both Fortnite and PUBG.
Pubg is a fkn scam from the makers of bitxonnect
milgram experiment references, stanford prison experiment and Jeremey Bentham references +1,000,000 internet
James doesn't like The Last Of Us. So take his opinions lightly.
I don't like the last of us, but I don't agree with him on video games having an expectation to put accuracy aside.
i actually love elyse's hair, its so nice
Lawrence! To stop your cutting board from moving place a damp towel underneath the cutting board. That or put a non slip mat underneath it.
I love it when Adam drops harmontown references
Adam's shirt is awesome! Can we get that?!
BENSON! Adam blocked Benson 😭
Edit: Read the description; personally don't think you guys need to apologise for your opinions but hey, cool on you guys for caring nontheless 😊
jojj334Q Yeah.
Lawrence, an easy way to keep your cutting board from sliding is put a damp paper towel or wash cloth underneath it
the comment section makes me want to throw up.
Lawrence, if your cutting board is sliding, take a hand towel, soak in water until slightly damp, and place under your cutting board.
Honest question, not meant to be throwing shade at all, based on personal taste only - Why are RT so bad at podcasts?
Great job James. Elyse is a work of art, physique and personality. WINNNINNNNNGGGGGGG. Also, great job Elyse on having said attributes.
What a terrible apology. You guys don't even have to apologize, just acknowledge you were being morons but that "apology" was an attempt to shift the blame and you completely ignored the actual problem people had man
For anyone interested in the actual topic of the episode skip to 11:57....yes....it took them that long EDIT: its actually like 14:00 lol
Nice job apologizing for something that wasn't even the issue.
Look at the dislikes had to be addressed
I really like that storm trooper shirt, always see Lawrence wearing it and it always makes me say "That's a good shirt"
So no apologies from James on trashing the media that supports him? Disappointed!
If I was Blue Apron, I'd want a refund on that ad read.
this is weird
Lets keep that like bar right the way up after last week
Good luck on being responsible Lawrence and showing all sides. Is anybody on the staff not completely indoctrinated in Alt left ideology? Or have the courage to say something that doesn't blow the SJW world? And actually dares to question it! Call me impressed if you can do that.
Don't you mean Ctrl left?
lastwolflord what the fuck is an alt-left you looney
Where did the assumption that they are too scared to "question it" come from? Were they Alt right before and jumped ship? Seems condescending
If you don't know that's your fault for not putting any effort into knowing on what goes on in the world around you.
It takes courage to stand up to the world around you. Especially if it might mean you could loose advertisers.
So many slams on people bitching about the last podcast...Love it!
