At this point I would've rather they just remastered the original battlefront II. Didn't have to pay for anything but the game and it's still one of if not the most fun Star Wars games to date.
Games are too cheap it's been 60 for the last 12 years damn near. I'd rather developers increase price as long as that means that they release a more finished game.
TEAMBLUESPARTAN let's not pretend here that for awhile now 60 dollars got you a full game, with season passes games have cut out content to be pre-ordered without knowing the quality of the content or what the content actually is. Let's look at 2015s star wars battlefront for example, the base 60 game was a shell with barely any content and after a year and a half of drip fed content we had something that resembled a full game for 110 dollars if you bought the game plus season pass. Even now season passes are locking basic content away as an incentive to buy it as well as the "promise" that the dlc will match the price you're paying for it but, for all we know the dlc could be all horse armour levels of content. Then there's the fact that big time publishers aren't forced to pay royalties towards writers, voice actors and composers or that devs often have big layoffs to look forward to at the end of a project. There's also the multiple cases where reportedly publishers are evading paying taxes. Jim sterling has a good video on the subject. ruclips.net/video/pHSso2vufPM/видео.html
THESTFUPRODUCTION I'm saying that the prices should be increased cause when I payed 60bucks for lets say Halo 3. I played the hell out of it and I didn't have to pay anything extra outside of new multiplayer maps and Xbox live. Now if I want to play Destiny I have to not only buy all the dlcs that include story content but if I want to get cool new gear I have to pay money for it. Unlike before when I could just get it through game progression. The difference between these two games is that I payed 60bucks for one game that gave me a complete experience and I payed 60 bucks for an incomplete experience. After it was all said and done I payed over 100 bucks for Destiny 1. Why did I have to pay 100 bucks in over a course of 3 years why didn't they just charge me 100 bucks for the complete game? I'd rather much do that.
Rockstar making anything would be amazing. They made a great table top tennis game for goodness sakes. BUT they are owned by TAKETWO. EA's damn near evil little brother
GTA sharkcards are the exact same thing. Rockstar has priced everything so high in GTAOline the only way to afford anything it is grind away in public matches, and they also give other players incentive to destroy your progress causing you to either grind away again or resort to paying real money.
I hate gta online because of the ridiculous exchange rate. Why couldn't they just make everything have a realistic price with obs that give decent pay? Because they wanna sell those 10 million dollar shark cards that only buys like 2 cars.
The difference is that the high prices only cover added content. The $60 spent at launch covered the entire single player, plus GTAO's base content. The only way to continuously add stuff into the game and make a profit would be through micro-transactions. I don't think their system is perfect, but it's not terrible.
I mainly meant that the game is not fully unlocked without either grinding or paying. True you know what you're getting, but it is completely pay to win. I wish they would make crew or friend only sessions able to have every online aspect, against bots or some AI.
Henri Paananen they are to a degree suffering Lawrence even mentioned it in the video he said sales were down both digitally and retail wise also their stock tanked by almost 20 that's like the definition of suffering for a company
After some research I have uncovered a terrible truth. 56:45 It doesn't matter what the deceased wants. You do not own your body in any legal sense once you are gone and any wishes you have are mere suggestions. There is no binding document you can have that can usurp the authority of your family.
Interesting now that loot boxes have been deemed gambling by Belgium, and if they push it so that loot boxes are gambling in all of Europe, that means games will either have to have a higher maturity rating, or remove loot boxes entirely. Sadly this doesn't stop microtransactions but it's still a step in the right direction. Didn't expect the battlefront thing to blow up this much but I'm glad it did.
I swear, I've loved everyone in on this channel for years, but Lawrence ;) is like a REAL fine wine, because he just keeps getting better and better every time I see him.
I listened to dude soup while getting ready for the morning. While brushing my teeth, the Bruce reads section came on. Suffice to say, hearing about a horse with shit breath made me never want to stop brushing
I know you guys record this on Monday, but why didn’t you talk about the FCC attacking net neutrality? Seems much more important than this right now. Hopefully the next podcast talks about it. I’d love to see Funhaus’ take on it.
Next podcast should be dedicated to the topic of net neutrality. I know it saturates Reddit now, but these mircotransactions won't be our biggest concern if we have to paid even more to even play games or see wonderful RUclips channels like this!
I was having trouble getting my headphones to be comfortable in my ears while watching this. I thought for a minute, "Hey, why don't I just play the video on the speakers so that I don't have to even bother with these pesky headphones?" Just as I was about ready to switch to speakers it got to the Bruce Reads segment and I remembered EXACTLY why I always wear headphones while watching Funhaus videos. My 4 year old isn't ready. My parent's hearts couldn't handle this. I keep the headphones in.
Just gotta say, after Rahul made his post about wanting to use the Indian pronunciation of his name and how Bruce respected that speaks volumes of their friendship and character❤
In a perfect world Disney would give the Star Wars license to Obsidian. Now that would give birth to a brave new wold of RPGs and a new era in gaming. I can see it in my minds eye right now, it's perfect, the future is bright.
Carrie fisher flatlines, but EA keeps getting their doctors (EA has their own medical team in this example)bringing her back till they get the lines, then she can finally die.
I don't want the government in my video games also I don't want comcast and others blocking youtube, facebook twitter, amazon, netflix and Hulu. I don't want to pay $80 for a game $60 is already too much for most games(at least 75% was for a sale) I also hate EA for killing visceral games(I fucking love dead space franchise one of the best new IPs from last gen)
Please Bruce, not Rockstar. They've already shown that they don't care about single player anymore. Give the licence to Obsidian! Better yet, don't make it exclusive. More money for Disney if more devs rent the licence and more chances us gamers get a good SW game again like Jedi Knight or KOTOR.
Not true Bruce!... minecraft, pubg, 5 nights a freddys... all those games KILLED sales numbers that EA could only dream of, and all new games like Adam was saying.
This was excellent. I thought the new segment was hilarious, hard-netting(which deserves a shirt) was thought-provoking, and I'm excited for the new season of Talking Stalkings!
Honestly you guys are my savoiurs coming home after a night out vomiting all over my back lawn and all I wanted to do is go to bed and listen to you guys talk shit just makes my night thank you from a very drunk pal stay golden xoxo
If EA had made an open world/GTA esque game format and have Star Wars Shark Cards. They would/could have sold a Shit ton of that game. With different side missions quests. DLC in future. Bounty Hunter missions. That would be the best Star Wars game ever. Travel to different world maps. Grind to get better ships and other vehicles. Upgrade light saber or blaster. Choose which side to play on. Make multiple characters.... Damn I wish I could make games, this sounds awesome...lol
This year I am fortunate enough to eat Turkey from my loot box. My friend however wasn't so fortunate and has to eat pea soup with his family. Thanks EA :(
Wow, now those are great t-shirts. Fanart representation as well as a great style. My wife and I are getting some big stocking stuffers now (it's those shirts).
So a good analogy for this story is that EA is Admiral Versio, the consumers are Iden Versio, and Battlefront II is Operation Cinder. The consumers were fine with it till they realized that it hurts them directly and EA is just saying "Fuck it, we're just doing what the Emperor's robot (in this case, whoever made the decision for the microtransactions) says; because we have a stake in this galaxy (or we have the rights to produce SW games), and in order to maintain that control (maintain a profit from the purchase of the rights to Star Wars), we're gonna make our soldiers (i.e. Iden Versio) mindlessly follow us till they realize that what we're doing is fucked up
I got really irritated with EA after they released sims 4. The game was buggy as hell and missing things like pools. Now they release a stuff pack or expansion pack every other month and they aren’t that good. Pets is bugged and there weren’t enough new items to warrant the $40 price tag.
I wanted so badly to share this podcast with my coworkers since it's engaging debate about EA, but the furry fanfic in the middle squashed my dreams of having friends. Thanks, Lawrence.
Hmm I disagree. Lawrence you don't really explain the campaign with grace or detail. It isn't just "OH LUKE LETS BE HIM, OH LEIA LETS BE HER" The game is very well tied into the universe and feels very authentic as a story. But it is definitely rushed and it isn't an utterly crazy experience. It will make Star Wars fans (and I don't mean average ones like you guys) really appreciate and cherish all the moments. It has great set pieces, decent action, references, cool game-play moments and surprisingly good mechanics like stealth, that I wasn't expecting. The campaign to the normal player is 6-6.5/10 but as a star wars fan amateur or hardcore it raises to a 7.
Hey guys, question: (youtube comments video maybe) Is it possible for you guys to post your dude soup the day of our day after recording? You're talking current events but a week later, and more and more info comes out of the woodwork each day. Love the content, you guys rock.
The original seems to be by Viruxard. The person that died was a cop and a Cybergoth. The dance was something they used to practice together for fun (according to what he says in his speech before the dance)
I don't think I could disagree with Bruce's sentiment more. The old characters have been done to death, and I would rather see the new characters developing in the movies. Haven't purchased a Star Wars game for probably more than a decade. However, I would be at the front of the line for a new KOTOR with unknown characters.
Some here are saying it is simply greed, and they are mostly correct. One thing the guys either don't really get, or for the sake of having an hour long discussion, choose not to get, is that publicly traded companies can almost never get away with just treading water. You must be turning a profit, unless it is understood you are in a growth period and can fold profits back into growth. It's unsustainable without changing the consumer side every few years, and companies do. Whether it is raising prices, cutting costs (layoffs), becoming more efficient, "adding" value (loot boxes!!), or all of the above (mostly all of the above), companies will always be having to look at how to do better. That's capitalism, and it is a snake eating its own tail, but with the snake growing JUST enough so that it doesn't catch up. If it does, the company folds, or a bigger snake eats (merges/buys) it. EA, and thus every other publisher on the planet, will continue down these avenues of extra revenue. It may not always be as obviously stupid as what EA did here, but it micro-transactions, loot boxes, F2P models, etc will not be going away.
I had a seizure and fell out of my bunk bed while listening to this podcast, I bit my tongue too. This is a longshot but can I get compensation or something? thx 4 tha content
What Bruce said seems very true. If a game doesn't sell very well then the company will most likely consider some form of micro transactions in a sequel. I wasn't really excited for Battlefront 2 and then they shut down Visceral to work on the campaign. They probably didn't give a shit about it. Also glad the editing boys are getting their own shirt with funhaus lord and savior benson.
Damn, the music in this game they're playing is amazing. Like I'm still engaged in the guys' conversation, but I also really want to play this game....
I personally think that Disney should not give the exclusive rights to make STAR WARS games to one company. What I would suggest is for Disney to let any developer make a demo of a STAR WARS theme/universe game and present it to them and Disney will have a group of people voting on it and if approved the devs could make the game. So in this scenario ACTIVISION/EA could make a FPS game, CD PROJEKT RED could make an RPG game and PLATINUM could make a beat'em up game. This will mean more money for Disney, but most importantly it gives us, gamers, the possibility to enjoy multiple games in that universe. Keep up the good work guys, I've been a fan since the machinima days.
Yeah, my Xenoverse 2 Season Pass was totally worth it since DLC content is shadowing the US release of DB Super. I like randomly signing in and finding new content every few months like a nice surprise
At this point I would've rather they just remastered the original battlefront II. Didn't have to pay for anything but the game and it's still one of if not the most fun Star Wars games to date.
*+Luke Rheiner* I've been saying this since the first "Battlefront".
Could've played it safe and done a remaster.
Sir Pinkly exactly! With current graphics and how the game plays it would’ve been a fantastic game
Luke Rheiner that's pretty much what people wanted... not what we got lol
God, so many well spent hours in the original Battlefront games. all on those same shitty perfect maps.
0:03 look at James. Look at that happy little boy.
He looks like an Elf on a Shelf.
You've heard of Elf on a Shelf...
Get ready for James playin' Games!
Or James in a jumper!
Analyst who said "Gamers are overreacting to EA" and that games are too cheap is an investor analyst for EA and Comcast.
Yea but he doesn't work for them, he's an analyst OF EA and Comcast not for EA and Comcast, he works for a 3rd party company.
Games are too cheap it's been 60 for the last 12 years damn near. I'd rather developers increase price as long as that means that they release a more finished game.

This was in the prior generation of consoles, but once we got passed that we got this new model which basically just hides the true price of the game
Rockstar making anything would be amazing. They made a great table top tennis game for goodness sakes. BUT they are owned by TAKETWO. EA's damn near evil little brother
I feel like Rockstar wouldnt do it because rockstar like usually doing its own shit
So when is MVMT or Vincero gonna have an ad read saying they're better than the other?
I'm just waiting for one of them to wear the wrong brand of watch during an ad read but they're probably careful about that kind of shit
Fight! Fight! FIGHT! FIGHT!
Gregory Frowendown I know right
vincero vs mvmt watches
leesa vs casper mattresses
Oleg Ustimenko meundies VS Mack Wheldon
My favourite podcast.

Can we get a new show called FicHaus where Bruce just sits in an armchair, wears old-timey glasses and reads dirty fan fiction?
GTA sharkcards are the exact same thing. Rockstar has priced everything so high in GTAOline the only way to afford anything it is grind away in public matches, and they also give other players incentive to destroy your progress causing you to either grind away again or resort to paying real money.
Mylar Baggins Im shocked how many think this way is ok, but lootboxes are bad. I dont like Rockstar anymore cause of Gta online.
I hate gta online because of the ridiculous exchange rate. Why couldn't they just make everything have a realistic price with obs that give decent pay? Because they wanna sell those 10 million dollar shark cards that only buys like 2 cars.

Probably because there is a really solid single player game behind it
February 1st in the EA office: "OH young Bruce. You will find that this lootcrate system in fact, quite operational"
What game were you guys playing during the podcast? It looks more interesting than battlefront.
Eduardo Leon they said it was battle chef brigade...seemed interesting to me as well.
james is completly focused in that game, i am surpriced james said anything during the podcast
19:05 I don't think James had any idea what was going on, yet he still won the cooking duel lol
what is the game they are playing?
i’m a pizza delivery driver, love listening to y’all while i’m at work. makes my job a little more tolerable. love ya 😘
How can u not love seeing EA suffer
Hmmm. I have to admit I do hate EA.
When EA buffers I suf...
Suffer? They're making more money than they ever have. Just because autistic reddit warriors jump on the bandwagon doesn't mean they're suffering xDDD
Henri Paananen they are to a degree suffering Lawrence even mentioned it in the video he said sales were down both digitally and retail wise also their stock tanked by almost 20 that's like the definition of suffering for a company
After some research I have uncovered a terrible truth. 56:45
It doesn't matter what the deceased wants. You do not own your body in any legal sense once you are gone and any wishes you have are mere suggestions. There is no binding document you can have that can usurp the authority of your family.
James should only wear that donkey sweater for every video from now on. He'll be like Bruce always wearing those shorts, but with a donkey sweater
Fancycam wat
Interesting now that loot boxes have been deemed gambling by Belgium, and if they push it so that loot boxes are gambling in all of Europe, that means games will either have to have a higher maturity rating, or remove loot boxes entirely. Sadly this doesn't stop microtransactions but it's still a step in the right direction. Didn't expect the battlefront thing to blow up this much but I'm glad it did.
But wouldn't that cause them to "raise" the price of the game in order to counteract the lack of microtransactions?
I’m glad Lawrence called out the bull shit story in battlefront 2. It’s fucking terrible and EA and Dice should be ashamed.
Everyone focusing on EA, meanwhile the FCC is about to gut out net neutrality
Y'all better talk about net neutrality next week
I wish you guys were on Spotify. Listening to you guys Podcast while walking sounds delightful.
Hearing Bruce's laugh...it just feels like it's been such a long time.
I swear Lawrence is the lovechild of Ron Perlman and Steven King. Keep it up man.
Welcome to the Disiness podcast.
*wheeeeeeeeeze
“Who is Roy Disney?!?” “No, WALT... WALT DISNEY!”
This is what happens when corporations get greedy
I hope next podcast is about net neutrality
Shoutouts to Omar or whoever for the post Audio cues on Bruce Reads, 10/10
I swear, I've loved everyone in on this channel for years, but Lawrence ;) is like a REAL fine wine, because he just keeps getting better and better every time I see him.
Loot boxes are considered gambling by law in Belgium!!!! :D Europe is next to do the same.
Happy early thanksgiving funhaus.
Today's Bruce Reads was the hardest one to listen to yet. Keep up the good work.
Finally Bruce, the best member of FH
Bruce in that sweater, reading that story, perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Adam’s love for old LucasArts Starwars games is my favourite.
James face at 19:06 when he realizes he should have bin cooking the entire time is amazing.
More ‘Bruce Reads’!! I nearly burst out laughing in work while listening to this masterpiece!!!
45:50 Elyse walking in and out of the room as Bruce reads MLP fanfic is hilarious.
The best cure for the wake and bake munchies is a piping hot bowl of Dude Soup.
Next podcast should be dedicated to the topic of net neutrality. I know it saturates Reddit now, but these mircotransactions won't be our biggest concern if we have to paid even more to even play games or see wonderful RUclips channels like this!
Damn it, I love that Funhaus hoodie. And watching Lawrence rock the hell out of it only makes it that much more spicy.
The Max cameo in Laser Team 2 was GD awesome.
Adam is slowly becoming Wheels, the Raccoon Chef.
Marble Olympics is one of the greatest channels ever, it really needs more videos. I can't wait for next years games.
Can we move on from the unusual role playing stories @44:00. Definitively ready for the life span of this humor to reach its end!
Can we please get a 10 minute show of Bruce Reads, I laughed so hard.
James looking so daddy material in that sweater!! 😭😭😍😍😍😍😍
Lawrence, you don't need to use circa when you have the actual date
This comment was made circa 17:52 Wednesday 22nd of November 2017 GMT
uh oh you got him good
Just gotta say, after Rahul made his post about wanting to use the Indian pronunciation of his name and how Bruce respected that speaks volumes of their friendship and character❤
Waiting on the moment MVMT and Vincero watches sponsor the same video.
In a perfect world Disney would give the Star Wars license to Obsidian. Now that would give birth to a brave new wold of RPGs and a new era in gaming. I can see it in my minds eye right now, it's perfect, the future is bright.
Genuinely fell asleep watching this and woke up in the middle of Bruce's clopfic reading and wow I've never woke up that hard before
"sitting in a wheel chair just in case I gotta move..." I'm not alone...
why is Lawrence making Bruce read his fan fic
every star wars fan has always wanted to pay 60 bucks to be a droid for 40 hours
Carrie fisher flatlines, but EA keeps getting their doctors (EA has their own medical team in this example)bringing her back till they get the lines, then she can finally die.
Always nice to see Titanfall 2 get positive buzz, one of my favourite games last year, great campaign and good post launch MP support.
I don't want the government in my video games also I don't want comcast and others blocking youtube, facebook twitter, amazon, netflix and Hulu. DamuEmran I personally miss pandemic, they made cool shit.
Whats the name of the game they're playing? My daughter would love it
"This isn't to far off from what people would do hundreds of years ago... We have advances in technology, like techno music." -Adam Kovic 54:53
Just give us a fucking Jedi knight academy remake or a new one please!!!
Why didnt they mention Witcher 3, such a complete game and a real game for gamers
Not true Bruce!... minecraft, pubg, 5 nights a freddys... all those games KILLED sales numbers that EA could only dream of, and all new games like Adam was saying.

End of podcast edit holy fuck hard netting was great
This year I am fortunate enough to eat Turkey from my loot box. My friend however wasn't so fortunate and has to eat pea soup with his family. Thanks EA :(

52:27 - Not the best time to take a big gulp of tea.
Watching James try to put a watch on for 2 minutes has convinced me he doesn't understand how a wristwatch works.
200% more wheelchair! Finally a channel for the disabled. Thanks!

To be fair none of the maps in single player are the MP except theed.
Please more bruce reading time!! 😂😂

I wasn't really excited for Battlefront 2 and then they shut down Visceral to work on the campaign. They probably didn't give a shit about it. Also glad the editing boys are getting their own shirt with funhaus lord and savior benson.
I love how quick they were to defend Lawrence’s Dad

I don't know why, but James' face at 19:06 really made me laugh.
I think they should always dress in comfy wear. I love seeing people being comfortable and warm. It makes me feel comfortable and warm lol.
Yeah, my Xenoverse 2 Season Pass was totally worth it since DLC content is shadowing the US release of DB Super.
I like randomly signing in and finding new content every few months like a nice surprise
