Adam, I'm glad you're getting your stomach checked out. It can really get out of hand and fuck you up the rest of your life. I had a stomach infection as a kid that went untreated and led to ulcers and a hernia before I was 14. Had to have it surgically fixed and I'm still fucked up and get constant infections, ulcers and inflammation. I've had 6 or 7 endoscopies. It sucks. Eating hurts for a few days to weeks afterwards. 16 years later and I'm still dealing with this shit. Take it seriously.

As a wannabe "creator," Joe Dyson makes me feel ashamed of myself. He has 650+ videos in 4 years, has OBVIOUSLY been improving, and continues to pound out equal or better quality videos with each go? That is HEART and dedication to his craft. Dude has like ten published books and I'm sitting here surfing internet videos. Mock if you will but that guy is doing some work. Respect.

Okay, so, on James’ 24 Hour Fitness Story - I worked for the company for 3 years and I can confirm, _there is no policy restricting weight dropping._ As a matter of fact, many clubs have rubber weights and padded flooring in front of squat racks _for that express purpose._
Now, as the guys were speculating, trainers aren’t contractors, they work in the company and their department tends to be socially isolated, but they are beneath the managers of the departments they don’t belong to, including Membership and Service. I hope that PT gets the boot, what a prick.

About the Michael Jackson drug topic: they were referring to Fentanyl, which is a few orders of magnitude stronger than oxy/hydrocodone. You tend to be prescribed it it in roughly 25/ 50/ or 100 *micrograms* per every 3 days, to let it sink in, whereas the other two are in 5/ 7.5/ or 10 miligrams per increments of either 8 or 6 hours.

Re: George Lucas 1. If Lawrence had paid attention to the credits, Lucas creatively had nothing to do with Howard the Duck. He didn't direct it, he didn't write it. Not even a "story by". He signed a contract with Universal to deliver a Howard the Duck movie. He proposed an edgy animated movie and the studio said "No". He was going through a messy divorce and said "Whatever. I get paid no matter what and I need the money right now to keep Skywalker Ranch". The only thing which people like James use as "proof he never had talent" more incorrectly is the Star Wars Holiday Special. His name appears nowhere in the credits- not even "characters created by " as would be required by Writers Guild. That means not only did he have nothing to do with it, he actively asked his name to be taken off it because he knew it sucked. Since it only aired once, that not even him rewriting history- he was protesting its crappiness up front. Remember that was made, he had no control over Star Wars- the studio owned it while Lucas only held merchandising rights. Give credit to Lucas for using his Empire Strikes back money to buy control of Star Wars from Fox.

atm94404 people say Lucas never had talent? Wow. He can really suck and I hate the prequels....but never had talent? A New Hope was more than most people realize. They thought he was insane. I'm 32 so even I cant realize the scope of that film but I try to. I'm a big Lucas hater but wow no talent? He's a legend

Well I mean what do you expect? RT is a corporate entity that relies heavily on google "products" so the criticism can only go so far before they step on toes,Plus FH has always tried to be non offensive when it comes to touchy issues just look at the huge trigger warning they issued before their PDP hard-er podcast just so they wouldn't have to deal with any back lash from the retards in their audience; If you go back and look at their older stuff, like even just back in 2016 before the corporate backlash (adpocalypse) Its a lot less restrained and censored.

James states that artists don't make a lot of money off a show until it goes into syndication.
I just want to clarify this a bit as somebody who works in the animation industry. I will not express what company I work for as to not speak as a representative of them, to respect NDA's and to keep my work and private life as separate as possible. The truth of the matter is that most artists don't get that much money, and shows in syndication don't typically boost the wages of the artists. Artists are paid over the production cycle and don't usually see more later on. Rare examples of shows exist that become obscenely popular (As rick and morty has) where artists are paid more after the fact if the studio is so inclined, but really the artists are paid salary or hourly with very little in terms of perfomance bonus's. The money they make is decent especially compared to average jobs, but its nothing crazy. It's a day job that requires a degree. A bunch of hamsters running on wheels in cubicles day in and day out. It's something you work at until you can retire. I think the average income of the artists in this company is 26.5K net canadian. Once taxes, bills and groceries come out the average person can save a bit of their earnings, but not that much. Artists don't get rich making good shows, and with the exception of people employed at household name companies like disney animators rarely make "A lot of money," studio's do.
    Just thought it'd be interesting.

To clarify, I was referring to those "Above the Line" like Dan Harmon, in the scenario discussed. I'm very much aware that rarely does massive success financially benefit Below the Line artists which I think is pretty shitty.

I think you guys hit on a big point. Companies that deal with ad revenue do monetize tragedies, media consumption skyrockets when tragedies hit and advertisers are not blind to that fact. We question morals now because of how the involvement of the audience has evolved in new media but it has always been a very profitable thing to do. I found it pretty sickening that at the end of Kimmel's video they still rolled the "hit the subscribe button" bit, but it's just because the people making the decisions aren't interested in putting Kimmel's opinion or wishes out there, they're selling a product, and at the end of a day it's all about business for them especially.

To go off of Elyse's comment of Funhaus being inclusive and over-all a great community - that's exactly why I have y'all's notifications turned on. Despite Lawrence being really into anime, and Bruce farting all of the time, and James being into weight-lifting, and Spoole being the "Quintessential Christian" of the group, you all respect each other and are kind, even if there are tons of jokes about all of those things thrown around. You're exactly right when you say Funhaus is about being inclusive and just having fun, because that's exactly what it is, and I have yet to run into a fan of Funhaus who acted like the "Gate-keeper" to the content I was enjoying.

The same corporations who complained about running ads on RUclips were pimping out ads on tv news when the Las Vegas thing happened. They knew a lot of people were watching so they had 5 minute long ads frequently. This was from someone who was watching tv shows and noticed this. I don’t feel bad that cable is going to die because these corporations have been doing this for a long time. Just hope they don’t take over the internet. I also realize internet does the same but there’s more platforms and you’re not giving in to one big corp but instead you could be watching funhaus

I really liked the part where they talked about comedy and how it works. A lot of people say they love Funhaus because they don`t shy away from crude humor, but I think that`s only half of the truth. The reason why I love them is because they know HOW to make this type of comedy work. Funhaus have mastered the art of doing "stupid comedy" while also making it clear that they are jokes and that they don`t reflect who they actually are and that they`re really decent people beneath all that. I don`t want to belittle anyone, but most people sound embarrassing when they try and make jokes about sensitive topics, but these guys know how to do it right.

It is really hard to get a doctor to recognize and diagnose a chronic problem, even when you are sure there is something wrong. It is awful to get a scan that doesn't back up your claims and have your doctor ignore you, only for them to claim ignorance of it when a problem is found years later by a more attentive doctor.

    • @ragna009
      @ragna009 7 лет назад +2

Chronically Mo The problem is alot of doctors who just don't care anymore. They are disillusioned when they see what is happening in the healthcare system or they never wanted to be a doctor in the first place and only became one because of pressure from parents or the dream of earning big cash. It also doesn't help that tests costs alot of money and if it turns out nothings wrong the patient gets angry and blames them. There are also patients that fake their illness and the doctors are sent in a wild goose chase just because the patient want drugs or need an excuse to get out of work

She thought the guys were actually sexist and they actually meant the stuff they said. Even though I tried to explain to her that the whole point is them acting stupid and satirical, she just simply did not accept it for some reason. It's really interesting how people get hung up on first impressions even after being explained the actual context.

The issue that people mainly had with the RUclips ads running over Kimmel's video was the lack of explanation of what, out of context, seemed very hypocritical on RUclips's part. Though now from the personal statement somewhat clears that up, this leaves other questions that should be asked, why did RUclips not respond to this almost immediately and avoid this whole debacle? Obviously they can't answer every single question being asked by content creators, but this was related to a response of theirs, could they of cleared that up a lot better?
Now that its explained, I can understand the situation, but it once again just shows how poorly RUclips communicates really key points of interest with its community which lead to even more unnecessary drama

The lack of communication from RUclips has been an issue for creators who want to maximize their own profitability (regardless of tragedy to charity) by understanding what is monitized or not. This is just another example of RUclips of sending an unclear, even if reasonable, message to smaller creators about how all this works. If they just said, Hey we like money and thats fine for us, then creators could work with that. The lack of explanation is the problem that RUclips continues to seed for smaller creators trying to make a living.

How to solve the Ad apocalypse: Educate businesses that people *DO NOT* associate their ads with the youtube videos they happen to be on. Literally that simple...Because it cant be a form of censor ship because businesses only do things for profit, not any other agenda despite what history has shown us...It has to be because they think they will lose money if they have an ad on a video with a cuss word.

the reason why that sauce joke made it, it's because justin who does the voice for rick and morty does like it a lot. he goes on tangents about that sauce and they thought it'd be funny to include it as a joke. because justin really is somewhat obsessed with the sauce in real life. I mean probably not crazed to extent his fans became. lol however he will get into conversations and start talking about the szechuan sauce on occasions and just go on about how great it was. they've talked about it in multiple interviews. was a bit of an inside joke, but I guess it resonated with a lot of people lool

In this time, the most precious substance in the Universe is the szechuan sauce. The sauce extends life. The sauce expands consciousness. The sauce is vital to space travel. The Council of Ricks and its navigators, who the sauce has mutated over four-thousand years, use the red sauce, which gives them the ability to fold space. That is, travel to any part of the Universe without moving. Oh yes, I forget to tell you. The spice exists on only 5 McDonal's in the entire Universe.
