    Adrian Belew on the Strat. Saw him with Bowie in 78, he was superb on Station To Station intro esp. Then he was excellent on the 1980 Talking Heads tour.

      Are you sure of that? R U in touch with Bowie in the afterlife? Don't get me wrong, I love Todd's best albums, as I do with Bowie. But, I'm unsure you can talk for Bowie from beyond the grave?
      It's not the worst cover I've heard. . . But. . .

    No one will agree with me more than likely but imo the best thing Todd Rundgren ever did was produce Steve Hillage albums like 'L'. His music was always a bit to jazzy for me but I do love this Bowie tribute. Gotta give it up for the old acid heads like me. Acid was the game chamnger in my life. It healed me in one session at 14 in 1972 from one of the worst childhoods people could imagine & I've never looked back. Played "In Search Of Space' Hawkwind cover to cover all night long whilst digesting The Hawkwind log book when I came down enough to be able to do so! lol

      @EastmanD Год назад +1

      hahahaha...yeah I saw this show in Anaheim and LOVED the show, but someone needs to have a serious heart to heart with Todd on his outfit choices as he ages. This was NOT the only ridiculous, embarrassing outfit he wore that evening.
      What was happening (IMO) was, he was competing with Angelo Moore (remember him from Fishbone?) whose THING is to dress outrageously and he does it well (BTW some of the songs Moore covered were absolutely BRILLANT, some not so much) and it's sooo Todd to get competitive with other artists he's on stage with (I also attended a Todd and Joe Jackson show some years back so....).
      The funny thing is Adrian was dressed in a plain (and I mean PLAIN) white t-shirt and I was like damn Adrian ! you could have put forth SOME effort ! But now that I think about it, it may have been his way of saying 'I'm not having any of this wardrobe competition thang' 🤣
      But all-in-all the night was fantastic and I HAVE to give a huge shout out to Royston Langdon (Spacehog rules !!) who was wonderful on every song he did. Royston does Bowie VERY WELL. Oh ! and Guru ! your comment ? Best so far of 2023 !! 🤣😅

    I saw this show and it was absolutely abysmal.. The sax player was utterly dreadful... the drummer and the bass player literally could not keep time. Todd looked like he did NOT want to be there. It's dreadful that Todd and Belew were subjected to this. Luckily, I received free tickets in Phoenix because Danny Zelisko couldn't sell this show. Todd, if you need the money, just tour with Utopia... or solo.... will always pay top dollar for that. Adrian..... recapture your 1981 Kc persona please.
