Buddy Guy, is a class act! To help this young artist, when he didn't have to makes him a class act! I have been a musician for over 37 yrs. I have seen so much jealously get in the way thank God for the Conway Twittys, Eddie Rabbits and etc. that helped this young musician get to where I am today! So I always pay it forward to help a young picker, vocalist, etc! BUDDY GUY!, you sir are a class act! God Bless You!
There are five people that have no f****** soul, this kid is badass and for Buddy Guy to play Rhythm for anybody after Muddy Waters you got to be kidding me that's good
Mr. Buddy Guy is one of the best and well known musicians. I felt so blessed to see him once at Blue & Jazz festivals in Kansas City a few years ago. I learned that there were so many fans came to see him and listen to his 🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶 because of his generosity, he made sure that the tickets were affordable for all of his fans. ..To me, his thoughtfulness, kindnesses and considered standing up, tall & speaking for him loudly. Am so glad to see him once again to share his talents to the young man. It's such great deeds for him to pass on his greatest guitar skills... Much love....
How great is Buddy Guy...letting this little boy cut heads with him...that little boy is going places.Buddy has already been to many great places so he lets others in his limelight...how great is that.jam on..
What can you really say about this. This is some of the best blues talking show ever. Wow, Quinn playing with the legend Mr. Buddy Guy, and standing on his own. GJ.
I never get tired of watching this 😂 I'd quit drinking alcohol quite a few years ago but Man this makes me wanna hit a jug of some Damn Good Moonshine ! The real kind !
he still has lots to learn (esp when trading off with another guitarist) but still a huge huge wow, already better than most out there at this young age. I hope he continues to grow and fulfills all the potential he obviously has.
This was a awesome experience that kid is phenomenal already at a young age imagine when he gets older the way he played gave me chills and of course the Legend himself still going strong 🙏🏿🔥❤️🥰
thanks for posting this, it was one of my favorite moments of the concert (that and the slow freight train coming out from behind the set just as a song started, probably had to be on lawn to see it)
They could work this song and elevate it from jamming to something where everything is in unison or played off of the others notes to where it becomes this dual attack that heightens the feeling (akin to something like Rattlesnake Shake from THE ORIGINAL Fleetwood Mac), but that's not what this is supposed to be. This is about FUN. Their sounds clash at times; things can get muddied other times, but it's not about playing the song exceptionally well. It's about giving a young kid the opportunity to shine for the audience, meanwhile giving a little history to the song as well. Sometimes it's explicitly about the sounds within the song; its structure, composition and execution that invoke an emotional response, thus granting the listener it's maximum effect through that. Sometimes it's just about watching/listening and being pulled into the musicians just having fun and enjoying playing with each other. I've seen Buddy Guy live and he's always fun; great personality whether he's playing or in between songs. No musician makes me FEEL as much as Peter Green, but no one makes me SMILE like Buddy Guy. Apologies for the length.
Fukin excellent never seen better is this Stevie Ray Vaughan's son playing with buddy guy ? Thank you buddy for helping the young blues. Believe me you will be history of blues and music itself.
PS I think what impresses me most about this kid isn't actually his playing - it's that (far as I can tell) he isn't letting it go to his head. THAT is impressive and more than could be said for most in the same situation - it'll serve him well.
Forget sports, music is the answer! Nothing matters but the music. There's no boundaries until the "government" outlaws it and when they do they'll have to deal with %90 of the population. 12 years old I can think of a perfect drummer for you Yoyoka! She's as awesome as you.
@claptongroupie Clapton!!?!!?!~#?#"?! Dude Buddy Guy is a GOD of the 6 strings....Clapton is a great guitarist...but Buddy is on a nearly mythical and legendery level. I love this, that kid will remember this for the rest of his life.
If I were to shoot video to post on You Tube, I'd at LEAST hold the camera still so as not to make folks so sick they have to take Dramamine after watching my video
Good job on the audio too. Most of the time the sub woofers and the kick drum upsets the auto level on cams and the sound is badly distorted. This sounds good. I was there and dug the show.
I think it's kind of sad how this amazing talented kid is sitting here playing on even keel with Buddy Guy at what, 12 yrs of age?? and most of the comments are about Buddy Guy and how amazing HE is and how nice he is to help this kid etc tec...all which is true, but why so little focus on the kid? credit where credit is due. excuse him for committing the unpardonable sin of being white.
This is cool and all, but just common today. I learned the intricacies of playing Hendrix by slowing down records on the turntable and maybe a glimpse of Woodstock footage. I hung out one night with Randy Hansen and learned some tricks. But maybe by 1985, other than Randy and maybe Stevie Ray, there was barely anyone on the planet that could pull it off, especially the Banner or Machine Gun. Now today, there are loads of videos, slowed down, with tab. Even ones where the person will show a solo literally one fret/string at a time! I saw a person do SRV's Little Wing at an open jam. It was frighteningly good. Then the jam leader said "Blues in C" and the dude could play NOTHING. This is why we have an entire generation that can play any song ever perfectly...and at the same time add NOTHING new to the conversation. RUclips is full of folks getting and giving fish while never learning HOW to fish.
We saw them at the "Z" in New Bedford when he was 8yrs old. ruclips.net/video/ix4TNJvVk8M/видео.html Ck him out now... ruclips.net/video/bnzoEfHW42k/видео.html
I think that back in the days when Quinn was young he had more soul in his playing You could hear Buddy in hes playing i think its better than his new modern blues style
don't feel bad, when I saw Buddy in Illinois, he just goofed around and wasn't serious. The opening band guitar player was better. Then Buddy played blues on a guitar rigged like a sitar.... just terrible.
i hear ya bro, I just wasted 100 bucks 2 weeks ago on Buddy and he sucked.he is all done. he has the kid along now b/c he knows he lost it and needs a distraction. the kids good but got no soul yet.

I agree

For someone so young to play Voodoo Chile like that is mind-blowing!!!
Watching this i caught myself just smiling so much for the first time in forever.

I never get tired of watching this 😂 I'd quit drinking alcohol quite a few years ago but Man this makes me wanna hit a jug of some Damn Good Moonshine ! The real kind !
Never gets old.Thank you Buddy.
Brings tears to my eyes
he still has lots to learn (esp when trading off with another guitarist) but still a huge huge wow, already better than most out there at this young age. I hope he continues to grow and fulfills all the potential he obviously has.
Great job by all and the young man is great. He can shred a guitar.
You should see Quinn Sullivan playing now... damn.
This was a awesome experience that kid is phenomenal already at a young age imagine when he gets older the way he played gave me chills and of course the Legend himself still going strong 🙏🏿🔥❤️🥰
Buddy Guy is not a selfish man!!
I've seen him up close 3 times.
He is going to be less than 1 mile from me on July 14, 2020 and tickets are already sold out. 😭
Sorry Melody, unfuckinfortunately, ain't happenin. Damn, I had plans too. That's the thing...life happens when we're making other plans. 🙏
Reminds me of the time..Joe Bonamassa went on stage with Santana at 15 years old…and the rest is history….
Thanks so much for sharing...can you imagine a better mentor? maybe Clapton

Jimi would be proud.
@SargNickFury They've played together before a bunch of times. Quinn is becoming a legend in his own right.
Fukin excellent never seen better is this Stevie Ray Vaughan's son playing with buddy guy ? Thank you buddy for helping the young blues. Believe me you will be history of blues and music itself.

Buddy guy is Quinn's teacher, not a bad teacher to learn from considering the likes of who Buddy played with
@jacktheplug great job thanks for ur view of my lil guitar hero

That was completely awesome but seemed a bit fast but its alright this dude is still sick!
I wish I was as bad of a guitar player as some of you seem to think Quinn Sullivan is.

Woodstock version ;)
What better mentor can u have?
Is Quinn Sullivan the second coming of SRV ?Time will tell.
One word, YES!
No, Stevie was Stevie, and Quinn is Quinn. I understand the comparison, but please don't put Quinn in a box.
Stevie was great and Quin is gona take it up a notch or two.
i know that feel bro... XD
qs will mature, just wait and see.
Just needs to spend the next 20-30 yrs. on the chittlin circuit,or the equiv."

don't feel bad, when I saw Buddy in Illinois, he just goofed around and wasn't serious.
The opening band guitar player was better.
