Wow Buddy, has and always will be a stand up man. I was blessed to meet him and his family in Portland Oregon, and was just amazed at how gracious they were and how much was put into making a great show for Oregonians . When all said a done they said when you’re in Chicago stop by. So cool. 😎
This is BEYOND BADASSERY!! So Killer. angelique has acheived my favorite version of Hendrix ever done. He i smiling where ever he is. And Buddy Guy: Slammin' it out of the park!! Bless their hearts.
She IS the voodoo child, and she knew to conscript Buddy Guy, who had taught so much to Hendrix. It made for an exceptionally fine performance, the two of them.
@@SuperBluesman56 Who hurt you? This is a fucking killer version, that I am sure Jimmy would have loved. She's an amazing musician, who continually crushes it.
@@SuperBluesman56 , & how 'bout SRV & KWS? Other musicians performing his work keeps Jimi's memory alive. & I agree w/ Cole Matteson : this version is smokin'! :)
Me three! At that moment she is showing the power of her voice, and she plays her voice off Guy's guitar, much as she has played her movements off it in the previous couple of minutes. It was one of those magic music moments.
I've been a fan of Hendrix since 1969, but I never paid much attention to "Voodoo Child" until I heard Kidjo's version. Then I had to go back and give it another listen. I appreciate just about every version I heard but this is still the best, imo.
Eu tenho esse DVD classico completo em minha coleçao, onde se reuniram os maiores mestres do blues, e essa cantora maravilhosa Angelique cantou esse classico do Jimmy Hendrix, junto com o mestre Buddy Guy....
Angelique busting some moves! Yeaahh but better yet with Buddy Guy! Dig it! And yeah..Hendrix was still better...better...best! Noone even come close after all these years...but can groove to this!
Maybe he means the long album version of Voodoo Chile, as opposed to Voodoo Child (Slight Return). Voodoo Child (Slight Return) was the single and is the version covered by SRV and everybody who thinks the can play blues guitar.

She had her way with Buddy! I looove this performance. Look at his face. The joy. Love it when the musicians enjoy an artist too.
ONE OF THE GREATEST MOMENTS IN MUSIC HISTORY. PERIOD. NO CAPTION NEEDED. 🔥 #Blues #Jimi #SRV #VooDooChile #SlightReturn #BuddyGuy

After all these years Angelique still has the vocal strength, the energy like the day Voodoo child was recorded

God bless Buddy Guy, one of the greatest guitar players ever.

She's a fucking disgrace with not respect for Jimmi's music, she should go to hell!!!

Love this version. I love that it isn't just a copy of Jimi's.
Well, this version is fucking disgusting!!!

LOVE this performance!
From her obvious joy you can tell this was a dream come true!!
Apparently Angelique Kidjo knows exactly who and what she is. I hope the rest of yal figure it out soon. Loved this!
Lol
I can just see Jimi grinning from ear to ear.
Yeppers!! yes indeed. check this one out:ruclips.net/video/FIZ38L-ALK8/видео.html

3:20 ish - I find a tear or two conjured up in my eye - I don't know why. Goose flesh throughout.
Superb....
me too !
Vernon Reid smashing as well!
I love this version. But how can playhe57 claim to be a Hendrix fan since 1969 and didn't pay attention to Hendrix's masterpiece.

@@LJH70122 SRV did not jus think he could play the blues guitar. He mastered it!!!
I would like to get the lyrics...my band, The OutLetZ, wants to cover this!
What year was this and where?Anyone out there know? Thanks! Incredible!!
Find the Documentary called "Lighting in a Bottle" it's 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
WOW!
You are on top of the world Angelique kinjo nothing do you
Is that Vernon Reid? Should have mentioned that, don't you think?
My mom pushed me out of her vageegee while this song was playing in 1999
am a voodoo child
I'd have done the same thing, especially if I could've entertained him like she could !
And 9 people did not like this? Probably nine of those Phantom Democratic voters?🤣🤣🤣
ouah!,,, comment elle bouge
Now looks like totally monetized. So sad. Put your bucks back in your pocket.
Or come on. Wouldn't you prefer some simple looped backgound music and an autotuned gangsta rapper?
😂🤣😂🤣
C'mon show some respect for Jimmi's anthem,, what happened to you Mr. Buddy Guy?
Poorest version ever.
Didn’t like this version nor the singer, only here cuz of Buddy Guy 🤟🏻
