I 100% agree. I was critical of his signing, but he's proven many (including myself) wrong and that he can be valuable if used correctly. I would definitely like to see him stay.

For Dan and Chris to say Bajcetic should be backup to Endo is crazy, He made around 12 or 13 appearances for the club over the last 2 seasons and did a good job and Yes I know he had a bad injury is even more of a worry. Needs to go out on loan to build himself back up and get game time.
How macca never gets mentioned as the main no10 is wild. Ive never seen a more obvious pick in my life. The further he is up the pitch the more he affects the game. A solid 2 behind him and let him run the game

I think it's massive wishful thinking that Stephan is all of a sudden the caliber of the best dm's in the world. If you want a title you can't take half measures and wishfull thinking. If Stephan is so good other teams would be bidding Caecedo money for him if we don't want to start him and they aren't.
I know Dan mentioned about Hans Leitert, which would continue Klopp's line when Taffarel was appointed that they wanted to be a school for goalkeepers in world football, and I'd perhaps guess that fsg in general would like to look into it more advanced analytically, still create like their own world class production line for them.
Guys have you not seen Youssouf Fofana from Monaco play...He is exactly the type of DM we need...and he is definitely available...He's physically ready, dominant, can get back in when teams counter, can is a 'footballer'. He's the right age and would be within our price range.

For a £75 million Nunez is the most frustrating player I’ve ever watched at Anfield. He scores and performs 1 in 5 games. World class finishes now and again, then misses regularly or hits the post
We need a left sided CB, a proper high quality DM (Endo is a decent, experienced stopgap and Baj is just a kid) and another attacker, ideally a RW because Elliott is going into the 10 with Szobo and we have enough players who can play left.
If slot wants to play his 4231 then Dom and Harvey suit the 10 role really well, they can both drop it and help out defensively but can both contribute going forward, the role doms been given this season doesn't exactly allow him to make the threaded passes etc, hes either to deep or not involved in the game, Also if you compare Weiffer feyenoords 6 and Endo there completely different, a Slot 6 has to be able to cover nearly the entire pitch and be able to do a bit of everything, more a Rice then a rodri/fabinho style DM, endo couldn't be more different then that, we 100% need a 6 more then any other position, alot of the other signings are replacing/upgrading imo
I couldn't agree more, I see Diaz and Gakpo as the LW's, Nunez and Jota as the ST's, Salah as our RW (I think Doak get's loaned out), and Dom/Harvey as the 10's. This leaves a spot for a RW. For the pivot, I see it right now as Mac10 and Endo, but an upgrade at DM would really help us. Jones, Grav and Baj can be rotation for the pivot. We need to replace Matip, but it needs to be a left sided CB, as Quansah and Konate can do the right side. If we get a LCB, a DM and a RW, I will be happy.
Lfc need to be keeping a really close eye on this adam wharton from palace, looks a real player to me, very mobile, good athlete, nice touch and passer, looks like he cud develop into a real top class number 6 in next few years.

Endo has been rock solid bro. No issue about being good enough. We have Bajcetic and 21 year old Tyler Morton as deputies in that position. We're good at the #6.

If he had 2 seasons of consistent playing, there's no doubt in my mind that he would be wortg aroun £100 million. As for Morton, look. Jurgen believed in him. He played significant minutes in the CL group stages before he got injured. What he needed was more playing time, which he has gotten. He was EFL young player of the month in December. He was used heavily. He is ready for some rotation. Is he good enough to be a deputy? Klopp thought so.
Check out Murillo for Forrest, the guy is Brazilian, he's only 21, is a left sided cb can do a job at left back, physically imposing and is very good on the ball, i feel he has a very high ceiling and definitely one I'd love to see us sign this season, if clubs are looking 50mil for pacho or 60/70 for colwill this guy could be 50 or under with a year in the prem and looks to be a great one for the future
Really interesting chat. It's a real qaundry as you can make a case for buying 4 or none. In reality it's probably somewhere in the middle. I personally wouldn't sell anyone before a balls kicked in anger & Slots had a proper look at his options. Regardless I think we need to add a back-up GK if Kelleher goes, a CB & RW. Unsure about a new DM as while we could probably do with one, they have to be good, won't be cheap & we have so many midfielders already.
With Diaz looking very likely to leave I’d want to see Szobo on the left wing. Agree with Chris that he’s not really a back to goal, silky 10 linking the play. Outwide he’d be able to face his man up, drive and cut inside to use his shooting It’s where hes excelled at RB and where he plays for Hungary.
Szobaszlai was not a right winger at his last club. They play with 2 No 10s, behind the main attacker. He also plays no10 for his country. There's a reason they called him the next De Bruyne, because he's got the creativity in his game. Just because we've not played him at that position, doesn't mean he can't play it.
There is absolutely no way you can set up in a 4-2-3-1 with Salah on the wing. Defensively, that is a nightmare & one of the reasons we rarely saw him in that position under Klopp. Slot defends in a 4-4-2 & the right-winger has to do a lot of work backwards - a 26 year old Salah struggled with that, much less this 32 year old version.
I think most don’t realise that Bajcetic was kept out last year because he was in a physical growth spurt. I got the feeling they didn’t want to push him during this period as it would shorten his career etc. many clubs play the youth to much and damage there long term. Think about Owen etc. played to much to early and ends up not going the distance. Bajcetic will be fantastic now he’s settled into his body, he’s not a first team player this coming season but a year of bedding in and he could be a beast the following season. Anyhow time will tell.

Having watched Feyernoord under Slot first hand, and also seen a lot of analysis of his Feyernoord team, Weiffer is pivotal in how Feyernoord have played. Weiffer is compared too a more "Rodri type midfielder", and we don't have that at the moment. Don't get this constant mention of "13 midfielders", so what if they're not what's needed? If we want to get a good start with this new project under Slot, it's not helpful "making do" with what we got. Also on Szoboslai, played some of his best football at Leipzig on the RW, have played some on the LW for Hungary, that's were I personally see us getting the best out of him, where he can get inside and shoot as well as stretch the pitch with his decent pace.

Szobo wasn't really a winger in Leipzig as they played more of a 4 triple 2, so he was more of a mezzala, started central and then ran out wide. And when we bought Nunez he didn't play of the left for Benfica he was leading the line for them, he played of the left the year before that and had a very mediocre season.

Martinez wasteful. We haven’t seen Elliot in a 10 he’s got most the attributes. He lacks the physicality a lot of the time in Midfield despite his effort
If you think a number 10 is the same as playing on the right, you just don’t know football. No 10 is playmaker and everything goes through the 10. Picks it up from midfield and runs with the ball, beats defenders and passes in strikers…watch countinho again
I just think relying on Bajetic to be a cornerstone in that double pivot is a huge risk, one I don't think is worth the gamble. If he isn't able to stay fit or doesn't reach the heights again we have seen from him then we are in trouble. And with a new manager at the helm it doesn't help him get of to a good start when it seems an obvious hole needing filled.
Need a dm we conceded 41 goals last season simply not good enough to win the league and if we want player like Trent Virgil and konate to stay and sign contract show them we can win major trophies and they will. Problem with salah that you didnt mention is that he could just reject a saudi move and a new contract this summer. He can choose to go for free next summer if he wants to. No disadvantage for him.
Don't agree Szobo was a RW. Leibzig played in a completely different manner where the "RW" was actually very very narrow. Even by seeing how he played for Liverpool would have given you a clue. Trent preferred staying inside this season, all Salah wanted to do was stay in the penalty box. If Szobo loved RW so much he could have stayed there and never left even as a CM, and Salah Trent would have thanked him for it. But the fact is, we had almost no width on the right because no one wanted stay there unless they absolutely had to. Szobo wanted to be in the center so he could take pot shots all day long. In actuality, when those 3 played together, you could see all they wanted to do was pass it to someone on the wing and make a run inside.
Defo need a salah under study, I get Salah likes to play 90mins all the time but to keep as fresh as possible he needs someone capable to take minutes of him, Olise, Neto, Kudus?
13 midfielders? Drop a forward into midfield. 442. For example. Rm: Trent Cm: Macca Cm: Jones Lm: Elliott. Maybe even a 5th midfielder in a 4411. But then you have 4 forwards for one spot: Salah, jota, Diaz, Nunez. I think Salah and Diaz in a front 2 could work. But some say 442 is Stone Age tactics.

Why does this conversiation not acknowledge the fact that we no longer player with 3 workmen in the midfield, Trent staying at RB in the free roam role doesn't exist anymore. We won the league with Trent at RB playing basically right wing but Henderson and Gini did all his defending. Klopps 4-3-3 was specifically designed to get the most out of the fullbacks from an attacking perspective, we don't play like that anymore, and who knows what Slot will set up.
Mo is holding all the cards. If he wants to leave on a free next year he is gonna do so. What is Liverpool gonna do? Bench him the whole season for not signing a new contract or an extension?
Our defence was a huge issue last season. Putting all the faith in Quansah and Konate is madness. There's no need for loyalty. We need a centre back. A good one at that. Diaz sell. Doesnt score. Doesnt assist. Not good enough for the prem. Even if we had isak up front are you confident Diaz assists ?? No.
Keep Endo for experience and I’d give Tyler Morton a chance. Bacjetic probably needs to go on loan because he’s missed so much football he’s needs to gain experience somewhere playing a lot of games imo.
Weird to blame a 6 on defensive issues. Our press has been dodgy for 2 years so big gap between front and back and defensive line not as high these days adds to this. Been a counter attack fest and 6 alone doesn’t stop this, Endo does a good job mainly by clever fouls 😂
Don’t get me wrong I like Diaz but he has a track record for this “no end product” even when he joined and Mane was still around. Look at the big moments that season, Carabao Cup final 0-0 he’s through on goal and it’s harder to miss than score but he hits the woodwork, FA cup final as well he missed a guilt edged chance, Villarreal in the semi away he misses a chance and then almost fluffs the header he does score, Man City away he misses a huge chance at 2-2, Real Madrid in the final he tries to be too silky. We have never seen that winger who destroyed Man City at the Etihad for Porto. This season Diaz end product improved marginally, when he finishes instinctively Chelsea away, Tottenham away (although wrongfully disallowed) Tottenham at home etc but there have been too many occasions where he makes a sensational run then runs out of steam in the final third where it really counts as a forward and that miss against City at home again it’s harder to put it wide but he does! If Mane gets all the chances Diaz has had in and around the box he was getting 20-30 goals a season, Diaz gets 13 goals, 5 assists. Apparently the season Mane was declining as a Liverpool player he gets 23 goals and 4 assists when playing most of that season as a centre forward come the business end of the season. Diaz for me has to go if we can get anywhere near £80- £100 mill as rumoured for him as he will never be a 20+ goals and 10-15 assists player that Mane was back in his prime. And let’s be honest Diaz in Man City’s squad is Doku. He can make a difference at times but isn’t starting every week yet Doku’s output from over 1400 minutes less is 1 less goal contribution as he gets 7 goals and 10 assists. It’s the assist number from Diaz position that is terrible, yes okay you can maybe say Nunez would have missed chances which would have potentially increased Diaz’s numbers on assists but Lucho has to do so much more for me to be part of a title challenging, champions league challenging side
The fact that we have 13 midfielders means f all, half those midfielders need to be moved on and we need a world class CDM as a top priority, but obviously we are doing the numbers thing again and have 0 ambition in trying to win the league.

A massive part of our success next season rests on Trent being in midfield for me. He NEEDS to be set free from defensive duties that supress him and allow people to criticise him. Take that completely out the equation and you have a world beater. He's an attacker. Simple as that. Why wouldn't you just allow him to do what he's good at and forget about being a RB?? It's just nonsensical. It's honestly like playing KDB at right back. So stupid. He's good at attacking... he's not good at defending. Pretty simple eh? For me, he shouldn't even be a 6! He should be a free roaming attacking midfielder with the team geared towards allowing him to flourish! Someone like KDB, Wirtz, Odegaard. They don't need to defend, so they flourish. Trent is better than all of them barring maybe KDB (but it could be close if he's used properly). The team should be built around him in the same way City have workers to allow KDB to do his thing. Trent, Elliott and Mac Allister are the 3 that could absolutely dominate on the ball and tear teams apart if they're supplemented by the rest of the team. Imagine the ball playing abilities of that 3 in attack, with the Endo/Ederson type behind them! Hopefully, with Southgate playing Trent in midfield, Slot will realise that's where he can win games on his own, which he definitely can. There's no better passer in world football. His shooting is top-class too. As an example, I'd love to see something like this: Alisson Quansah Virgil Bradley Robbo Ederson Macca Trent Elliott Gakpo Salah Imagine the interplay between that front 5!! That's a team that could pass teams to death, and be precise and clinical. The only issue would be that there's no real pace there, but that's why you have Nunez, Diaz, Szoboszlai, possibly bakayoko etc on the bench to switch it up when opponents are shattered from being passed in circles. Another thing, I'd use Szoboszlai as an attacker. He isn't a guy that threads balls through etc. He's more of a forward. I'd be trying him out on the wings.

These people seem to live in a different reality to me. Salah has been a shadow of his former self ever since he came back from the Cup of Nations in 22, and he has been appalling for most of the season just gone, yet these lot talk about him like it's 2019 and he's still unplayable. 1:08:30 -- Nunez is only a good player alongside Salah? Are you completely out of your mind. Nunez was at his best from Jan to March when Salah wasn't there, hogging the ball, wasting possession, scuffing shots into the keeper's hands, etc.
Liverpool are not going to give Slot (like they did with Klopp), all the toys he wants. Liverpool will wait for at least a season to see how Slot builds with the current team, to start filling in the gaps next summer and beyond.

He played significant minutes in the CL group stages before he got injured. What he needed was more playing time, which he has gotten. He was EFL young player of the month in December. Check out Murillo for Forrest, the guy is Brazilian, he's only 21, is a left sided cb can do a job at left back, physically imposing and is very good on the ball, i feel he has a very high ceiling and definitely one I'd love to see us sign this season, if clubs are looking 50mil for pacho or 60/70 for colwill this guy could be 50 or under with a year in the prem and looks to be a great one for the future
Really interesting chat. It's a real qaundry as you can make a case for buying 4 or none. In reality it's probably somewhere in the middle. I personally wouldn't sell anyone before a balls kicked in anger & Slots had a proper look at his options. Regardless I think we need to add a back-up GK if Kelleher goes, a CB & RW. Unsure about a new DM as while we could probably do with one, they have to be good, won't be cheap & we have so many midfielders already.

Szobaszlai was not a right winger at his last club. They play with 2 No 10s, behind the main attacker. He also plays no10 for his country. There's a reason they called him the next De Bruyne, because he's got the creativity in his game.
Just because we've not played him at that position, doesn't mean he can't play it.
There is absolutely no way you can set up in a
4-2-3-1 with Salah on the wing.
Defensively, that is a nightmare & one of the reasons we rarely saw him in that position under Klopp.
Slot defends in a 4-4-2 & the right-winger has to do a lot of work backwards - a 26 year old Salah struggled with that, much less this 32 year old version.
I think most don’t realise that Bajcetic was kept out last year because he was in a physical growth spurt. I got the feeling they didn’t want to push him during this period as it would shorten his career etc. many clubs play the youth to much and damage there long term. Think about Owen etc. played to much to early and ends up not going the distance.
Bajcetic will be fantastic now he’s settled into his body, he’s not a first team player this coming season but a year of bedding in and he could be a beast the following season.

Having watched Feyernoord under Slot first hand, and also seen a lot of analysis of his Feyernoord team, Weiffer is pivotal in how Feyernoord have played. Weiffer is compared too a more "Rodri type midfielder", and we don't have that at the moment. Don't get this constant mention of "13 midfielders", so what if they're not what's needed? If we want to get a good start with this new project under Slot, it's not helpful "making do" with what we got.
Also on Szoboslai, played some of his best football at Leipzig on the RW, have played some on the LW for Hungary, that's were I personally see us getting the best out of him, where he can get inside and shoot as well as stretch the pitch with his decent pace.
Now I’m not saying they are on the same level but let’s not pretend that Mane didn’t miss a shitload of chances.

Szobo wasn't really a winger in Leipzig as they played more of a 4 triple 2, so he was more of a mezzala, started central and then ran out wide.
And when we bought Nunez he didn't play of the left for Benfica he was leading the line for them, he played of the left the year before that and had a very mediocre season.

Don't agree Szobo was a RW. Leibzig played in a completely different manner where the "RW" was actually very very narrow. Even by seeing how he played for Liverpool would have given you a clue. Trent preferred staying inside this season, all Salah wanted to do was stay in the penalty box. If Szobo loved RW so much he could have stayed there and never left even as a CM, and Salah Trent would have thanked him for it. But the fact is, we had almost no width on the right because no one wanted stay there unless they absolutely had to. Szobo wanted to be in the center so he could take pot shots all day long. In actuality, when those 3 played together, you could see all they wanted to do was pass it to someone on the wing and make a run inside.

Why does this conversiation not acknowledge the fact that we no longer player with 3 workmen in the midfield, Trent staying at RB in the free roam role doesn't exist anymore. We won the league with Trent at RB playing basically right wing but Henderson and Gini did all his defending. Klopps 4-3-3 was specifically designed to get the most out of the fullbacks from an attacking perspective, we don't play like that anymore, and who knows what Slot will set up.

Weird to blame a 6 on defensive issues. Our press has been dodgy for 2 years so big gap between front and back and defensive line not as high these days adds to this. Been a counter attack fest and 6 alone doesn’t stop this, Endo does a good job mainly by clever fouls 😂

Don’t get me wrong I like Diaz but he has a track record for this “no end product” even when he joined and Mane was still around. Look at the big moments that season, Carabao Cup final 0-0 he’s through on goal and it’s harder to miss than score but he hits the woodwork, FA cup final as well he missed a guilt edged chance, Villarreal in the semi away he misses a chance and then almost fluffs the header he does score, Man City away he misses a huge chance at 2-2, Real Madrid in the final he tries to be too silky. We have never seen that winger who destroyed Man City at the Etihad for Porto. This season Diaz end product improved marginally, when he finishes instinctively Chelsea away, Tottenham away (although wrongfully disallowed) Tottenham at home etc but there have been too many occasions where he makes a sensational run then runs out of steam in the final third where it really counts as a forward and that miss against City at home again it’s harder to put it wide but he does! If Mane gets all the chances Diaz has had in and around the box he was getting 20-30 goals a season, Diaz gets 13 goals, 5 assists. Apparently the season Mane was declining as a Liverpool player he gets 23 goals and 4 assists when playing most of that season as a centre forward come the business end of the season. Diaz for me has to go if we can get anywhere near £80- £100 mill as rumoured for him as he will never be a 20+ goals and 10-15 assists player that Mane was back in his prime. And let’s be honest Diaz in Man City’s squad is Doku. He can make a difference at times but isn’t starting every week yet Doku’s output from over 1400 minutes less is 1 less goal contribution as he gets 7 goals and 10 assists. It’s the assist number from Diaz position that is terrible, yes okay you can maybe say Nunez would have missed chances which would have potentially increased Diaz’s numbers on assists but Lucho has to do so much more for me to be part of a title challenging, champions league challenging side

The fact that we have 13 midfielders means f all, half those midfielders need to be moved on and we need a world class CDM as a top priority, but obviously we are doing the numbers thing again and have 0 ambition in trying to win the league.

For me, he shouldn't even be a 6! He should be a free roaming attacking midfielder with the team geared towards allowing him to flourish! Someone like KDB, Wirtz, Odegaard. They don't need to defend, so they flourish. Trent is better than all of them barring maybe KDB (but it could be close if he's used properly).
The team should be built around him in the same way City have workers to allow KDB to do his thing.
Trent, Elliott and Mac Allister are the 3 that could absolutely dominate on the ball and tear teams apart if they're supplemented by the rest of the team. Imagine the ball playing abilities of that 3 in attack, with the Endo/Ederson type behind them!
Hopefully, with Southgate playing Trent in midfield, Slot will realise that's where he can win games on his own, which he definitely can. There's no better passer in world football. His shooting is top-class too.

Another thing, I'd use Szoboszlai as an attacker. He isn't a guy that threads balls through etc. He's more of a forward. I'd be trying him out on the wings.

Salah has been a shadow of his former self ever since he came back from the Cup of Nations in 22, and he has been appalling for most of the season just gone, yet these lot talk about him like it's 2019 and he's still unplayable. 1:08:30 -- Nunez is only a good player alongside Salah? Are you completely out of your mind. Nunez was at his best from Jan to March when Salah wasn't there, hogging the ball, wasting possession, scuffing shots into the keeper's hands, etc.
Liverpool are not going to give Slot (like they did with Klopp), all the toys he wants. Liverpool will wait for at least a season to see how Slot builds with the current team, to start filling in the gaps next summer and beyond.
