It takes a real man to do a video on this situation and discuss what went wrong and what could have been done differently, this could have happened to anyone out there, Iv'e been boating and fishing my whole life of 50yr's and realize water can take you out at any time it wants to. Thank God everyone is safe to fish another day, my hat is off to you my friend God Bless.

Some people are jerks and only look out for themselves. Glad you and your boat are OK. Always go out of your way to do what you can to help aid or assist a fellow angler in distress on the water.
I'm not quite sure how i came across your video, but I wanted to applaud your calm demeanor throughout the series of events. While you did call the tiktok poster out, you also showed grace and class when you stated that you would not judge him over his 1 bad choice, but needless to say it wasn't appreciated. Your behavior is mature beyond your years young man. We all make mistakes and this is how we live and learn. I have had some close calls over the years in similar situations. Thank you for sharing and owning your mistake. It just might help someone out one day. All the best!
Thank you for the kind words and for watching the video! You’ll be glad to know that the tiktok poster and I are cool now and were able to speak and work it out 👍 again thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a nice comment, we wish you all the best as well!

Keep head up stuff happens in life sometimes ain’t easy. Good job getting boat back maybe a little sign. Never know. Just give thanks to the man Upstairs. Hope y’all do good this year.
Thanks for sharing that experience. Glad all turned out okay in the end and unfortunately there are those few that use someones misfortune for their own gain. I can’t imagine seeing a fellow angler in a bind and not helping them out.
Thank you for watching and leaving such a nice comment! We definitely got away very lucky in the end, and are glad to be out running that boat and catching big bass on it again now!
Your transparency is admirable. And you're lucky the boat is okay. I hope the water doesn't do long term damage. I've seen similar things happen in the saltwater and the boats were never the same. I grew up fishin' in Florida then lived in Costa Rica at the beach for years. Anytime you want to beach a boat you want the bow facing offshore into the waves. I helped push boats down the beach on old logs so we could launch lots of times in Central America. When we came back the captain always turned to face the waves at the last minute but it was sketchy at times in the surf. But they always beached with the stern towards the beach. You don't want to know how hard it is to push the boat back uphill on those logs, if I don't LOVE fishin' I wouldn't play that game. Anyway im glad everything turned out well for you, it definitely could have gone far worse.
Thank you for your nice comment and sharing your experiences! I definitely wish I had power poles so I could have just turned into the waves and poled down, or poled down by the dock. The boat is in great shape and we are taking the extra steps to make sure the water doesn’t do any long term damage. And we agree with you there, all of this wouldn’t be worth it if we didn’t love fishing so much!
Brother I don't know what happened and didn't watch the full video just came to the comments to piece together what possibly happened & say. Lavon can be Sneaky Dangerous. I got beached on that same boat ramp in January 2023 after having my 12 Foot Talons installed & the North Wind pushed me parallel to the ramp where I had to get in 40 degree water myself to push it out. Later I realized my Talon Bracket must have been stuck on the Concrete Ramp because the whole left on came off the rear bracket and all and is in the bottom of Lavon. I have have pueny 8 Ft Power Poles. Stay Safe out There. All water is to be respected. Water is the most formidable substance on Earth. It gives and takes life. Glad to hear that you came out as well as possible. It's always a good move to shut down the engine and not suck water into the cylinders. God Bless 🙌 you, it wasn't stupid what you did. If anything, Learn Experience, and teaching for others Anglers. You quickly overcome the wrong decision, to make the most important decision to save your boat, gear, and equipment and not get hurt in the process 😀 👍 I'm from Clarksville, Tennessee, in Remission of Stage four Cancer ♋️, but wanted to fish the Texas Team Trail. I did it with a amateur partner that really wasn't supportive 😕 Second Tournament coming back from Jasper Texas, my SUV engine blew 😑, stranded in a small town, paying 90 percent of everything, with barely any help from my partner, who couldn't care less, for I paid for everything. Got back to Clarksville, haven't seen my partner till this day. The worst 😫 part, missing the last two Tournaments and hope to Qualify for the Championship. Again partner doesn't care, haven't put a penny on anything and supposedly be a Christian. It's a Blessing 🙌 you have a good partner, Great Dad, and support System. God Bless 🙌 you in your Tournament and keep those Lines Tight.

Thank you! We think Tristan’s boat will be fine! He was throwing a Texas rig with a Missile Baits D Bomb in the color GP3 and then a strike king hybrid hunter in the color smooth!
First off glad you are safe. You rolled around for months without replacing that lid in the back? I could understand a few weeks it escaping your and your dad’s mind but months seems like it was bound to happen.
Yes, months, but really only about 4-5 trips in that boat across that whole time. Most of our tournament fishing and practice is done out of Iain’s (the other member of our channel) boat. Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment!
Learning experiences come by God and implants wisdom ,glad your ok. Btw I have and do have good friends have sunk boats on Lavon, and I sunk my grandads truck at sister grove ramp in 90’s on a high water situation that we rarely see anymore, things happen for reasons , you never know what your worse luck has ever saved you from your bad luck
Thanks for watching and thank you for your nice comment! That’s a great way of looking at things, it definitely could have been a lot worse! Sorry to hear you have had similar experiences but glad you are okay through it all!
One day you’ll look back and laugh at it. Happened to a buddy. We took our bass boats to an island to camp, the tide dropped over night, wake up, his boat beached, mine was tied farther out. Had to use my batteries to pump out his boat. Then my motor ended up burning up, and he towed me in!! You can’t make this stuff up. We laugh now. To the guy posting your mishap, what goes around will come around.
Throw a few fans in their if you can * in between the rain < That stinks ! Main thing is everyone is ok ! I have helped many people over my 55 years fishing *
Very unfortunate that happened and very fortunate you didn’t loose anything. Sounds like Mr. DBU will fit in great at the Baptist church…………they are often full of back stabbing, rumor spreading gossips. The Jesus in me loves them, the redneck in me wants to black their eyes. Glad you got all your stuff back.
Water ain’t nothing to play with it can happen to anyone any given day I’ve been in some dicey situations in my jon boat I’m glad you guys are ok sucks the boats done for hopefully insurance will make it right for ya buddy
Hope you see this. Anyone who has fished/boated a lot has made mistakes or at least had close calls like this. Don't let anyone get to you that is trying to embarass you. You are lucky. You get to learn a hard lesson without loosing any of your hard earned equipment. Only thing left to do now is show up to the next tournament and take the Tik-Tok ers money by winning.
Thanks for your nice comment! Me and the tik tok guy are cool now, we spoke and worked it out! Appreciate the kind words and you taking the time to watch the video!
You can't be mad at the guy for posting the video. Yes if you take it personal, but really they just took a video of an event that a lot of people would be interested in seeing. Both can be taken as a learning point. Windy days are very crazy and dangerous, especially when you're by yourself I for one can learn from your situation and guess what... You're only getting more views and your messages getting out there. So don't take it personal
Respectfully, anyone can be mad at anyone they want to for any reason. It’s a free country. But, there’s no hard feelings anymore, him and I talked and we’re good. But I have every right to stand up for myself in a situation where I think I’m being made to look stupid or any way that doesn’t portray me and my character in the right way. I simply stated that’s not the way I would’ve handled things. And to be honest, the video wasn’t the main thing I was mad at him for at the time, it was the way he was talking about us and the situation in the comments to the people commenting on his video, and telling a story he knew nothing about. Overall though, the situation is resolved and worked out fine, so I have nothing to be mad about anymore. We appreciate you watching the video and leaving a thoughtful comment, and we’re glad you could learn from our situation, as that was the main reason we decided to make this video! We hope by putting this out there we can help other boaters out if they ever face a similar situation! We’d appreciate you checking out some of our other content while you’re here!
Respectfully, The same free world allows this guy to record and not help you. I get it being an emotional situation and you being emotional how someone making a video about your misfortune... Taking emotion out of it, there's nothing to be embarrassed about or anything. You all did a great job getting the boat out and being safe. You all were too busy working while this guy was recording. You don't have any video of the recovery process that I know of. I'm very interested in that, maybe you can ask the guy for some of the video and put it on your channel as well. See not being emotional allows you to actually work with someone to get the video for yourself. He may have given it to you and you could have benefited as well as your viewers. I remember fishing at lake when the water and a waves were so bad I called in for a tow for my kayak. I could have gone through it all, but at the same time I'm happy that I went ahead and made the choice.
The recovery process was something else lol 😂 I ended up having to get in the lake and tie a massive rope to the D-Loop on the front of the boat that hooks to the winch on the roller, and then from there we tied the rope to my dad’s work truck, which is a Ford F-550. After that he just pulled the boat onto shore where we drained it out and then used my truck with the trailer to back it under the boat and let the boat roll back up onto the trailer enough to drive it to the ramp and float it so we could winch it on and go home 😅 it took about 3.5-4 hours with about 7-8 guys to get it done! Pretty crazy! Again thanks for watching and for the conversation!
The wind kicked up late in the day as we were heading in from the tournament. We definitely would not have stayed out there much longer if we weren't competing! Thanks for watching!
@@deanstarfish lol all good. We wish we had more of the actual raw footage of the boat going down to show but due to the looping function the camera was on none of it got saved in time. Thanks for watching!
Who knows, maybe it would’ve stayed floating enough if I had given it the chance. I just didn’t feel comfortable testing that out 🤣 thanks for watching!
@@metroplexbassaddicts it is law that the boat has to stay up level flotation ! Back in the day my friend took a 6 footer from the side in his champion , filled the boat all the way up never went all the way down and stayed level. Keep your picks and ask a lawyer!!!!! I left my plug out in my champion 17.6 ,water never came over the floor!!!
I worked for the company who had a coastguard contract to develop flotation standards and max hp ratings for boats under 22 ft. I started there in May of 1979. The actual standard is with the boat loaded to its max load capacity and a weight on the transom equal to the max hp engine weight, the boat was filled with water until water was pouring over the gunals from inside the boat to the outside. To pass the coastguard standard the waterline on the outside of the boat could be no closer than 6 inches from the top of the gunals at any point. In other words, the boat had to float 6 inches above water. We tested thousands of these boats for coastguard certification.
@@Edward-ci8ylI'm just telling you the standard. Maybe the boat was overloaded, I don't know. Boats are no longer tested by the coastguard. It's done by CAD and calculations. Back in 1979 the boats were sent to us and we tested them in a pool. If the boat failed the manufacturer was notified and they instructed us where to drill holes and add foam. We did this until the boat pass. The boats that had to be modified to pass were later destroyed. The Boats that pass with no modifications were sold at auction. The auctions were held every 3 months, was sealed bid, and the buyers had 7 days to pickup the boat.
Basically everyone else there came up and helped me get all of my rods and reels, tackle, camera gear, and everything else out of the boat and onto land. Several people stayed and helped us with getting back on the trailer. Several people afterwards offered to give me baits or equipment if I lost any (luckily I didn’t). Just any amount of decency, especially if you are going to post a video like that and be like he was being in the comments, at least be courteous beforehand 🤷♂️ but him and I have talked since, and are cool now.
@Metroplex Bass Addicts I didn't see his post but yeah everything was water logged you just pull it off bank tow around to ramp and slow load it pull up few feet at a time. Swamping a boat isn't fun for sure. At least you didn't leave the drain plug out and launched like my dumb ass did in 1995 and swamped it
Your heart and head is in the wrong place. You need to own that mistake. I'm sure your fishing buddy would have understood. In fact he should have insisted to you to not put that boat on the beach under those conditions. I have people around me that tell me what l need to hear not what l wanna hear !!!!
Not really sure where in this video you got that I didn’t own up to it. I never once blamed anyone else for it and I literally say in the video that I acknowledge it was a mistake and that it wasn’t the smartest decision to beach the boat in those conditions. Good for you if you have people that tell you “what you need to hear” 🫡 I was trying to be courteous to my partner who was fishing with me out of my boat for the first time, and it cost me. If me saying that constitutes me “not owning up to my mistake” then I don’t know how to own up to it 🤷♂️ but seeing as how 95% of the people commenting on this video have agreed with everything I’ve had to say, I’d say my heart and head are in the right place 👍 but it’s a free country so you can have your own opinion 👌 thanks for watching and God Bless!
So you beached your boat in conditions like that ? Maybe you should have called your dad before sinking the boat. Talking about a bonehead move. Oh well guess it’ll dry out.
If you watched the full video and listened to the explanation, you’d understand why I decided to beach the boat 👍 and you would also know that the boat is completely fine and out of the water safe and sound, nice and dry.

God Bless 🙌 you, it wasn't stupid what you did. If anything, Learn Experience, and teaching for others Anglers. You quickly overcome the wrong decision, to make the most important decision to save your boat, gear, and equipment and not get hurt in the process 😀 👍
I'm from Clarksville, Tennessee, in Remission of Stage four Cancer ♋️, but wanted to fish the Texas Team Trail. I did it with a amateur partner that really wasn't supportive 😕
Second Tournament coming back from Jasper Texas, my SUV engine blew 😑, stranded in a small town, paying 90 percent of everything, with barely any help from my partner, who couldn't care less, for I paid for everything.
Thank you for the kind words, and we’re sorry to hear about all your struggles. Keep fighting through it all, it will all work out in the end, God’s got you! And you are absolutely right, we have a great support system here! God bless!
Amen and amen 🙏🏿
Hate that happened to you and glad you made it out safe. I was on Hubbard and had issues loading. Scary stuff. Karma is real and not wished upon anyone. Stay safe
Thank you! Definitely something that is not wished upon anyone! Glad you made it off the water safely!
Crazy nothing went wrong with it. I'm glad the boat is good for you, hats off for the people who helped you and screw the tiktok dude, he probably had his mom drop him off to make video's
Thanks for the nice comment and thanks for watching! We’re cool with the tiktok dude now, no bad blood!
That sucks. Hope it works out for the best. What were you throwing that day?
Glad everything is ok bro.
Thanks man, us too! Thanks for watching!
You made a lot of smart choices to save your boat and gear, shutting off the electronics before sinking deffinately saved them.
Thank you! We definitely got away pretty lucky! Thanks for watching!
Dang Blazer eating it up!! Calm water or full of water that thing is screaming!
Facts! We’ll be running her wide open again soon!
Absolutely! It’s already something my buddies and I look back and laugh at! Thanks for watching and for your kind comment!
Throw a few fans in their if you can * in between the rain < That stinks ! Main thing is everyone is ok ! I have helped many people over my 55 years fishing *
It definitely sucks but it could have been much worse! Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching!
Definitely very fortunate! Thank you for watching and thanks for your comment!
Water ain’t nothing to play with it can happen to anyone any given day I’ve been in some dicey situations in my jon boat I’m glad you guys are ok sucks the boats done for hopefully insurance will make it right for ya buddy
The boats not done for, it’s fine! Took it out on the water yesterday and she’s all good! Thanks for watching and for your nice comment!
@@metroplexbassaddicts ain’t that a miracle best of luck
@@daltonbradshaw1391 it sure is lol! Thank you and we wish you the best as well!
Stuff happens quick and it happens to everyone eventually.
For sure! Thanks for watching!
Thats crazy
Sure was! Thanks for watching!
Sorry bud. Had 2 similar incidents. One minor and on major. We live and learn!
Sorry to hear that something similar has happened to you before. We wouldn’t wish it on anybody. Thanks for watching, means a lot!
Social media he has every right. Your situation bad Good luck
It’s not a matter of if he has the right, it’s a matter of it not being the right thing to do 🤷♂️ thanks for watching!
Who cares what he says and what he thinks. You handled yourself very well
Thank you, we appreciate you for watching and leaving a nice comment!
I know one thing you won’t kill that vmax I got one and I have put it through the test
They are definitely extremely resilient, one of the best motors ever built! Thanks for watching!
Nice used boat for sale. Never had as much as a drop of water in the interior. Definitely never been sunk. Cash only for sale as is!
Lol 😂
Hope drained the gas tank. I'm sure water came in the vents unfortunately.
Yup, that's the last thing on our list to do before she's ready to get back on the water!
Thank God you were close to the bank
For sure!
You can't be mad at the guy for posting the video. Yes if you take it personal, but really they just took a video of an event that a lot of people would be interested in seeing. Both can be taken as a learning point. Windy days are very crazy and dangerous, especially when you're by yourself
I for one can learn from your situation and guess what...
If you actually had 4 footers like you said the dumb thing was staying on the water. Glad your boat is ok.
The wind kicked up late in the day as we were heading in from the tournament. We definitely would not have stayed out there much longer if we weren't competing! Thanks for watching!
Yeah thats a horrible design by Blazer to have the oil cap there
Definitely an interesting choice lol 🤣 but if I had the cover on I probably would have been okay, so can’t blame them too much 😂 thanks for watching!
Do you have the video of what actually happened? I looked through comments and saw nothing.
I explain in the video exactly what happened…
I was wondering why you didn't have the video. At the time I didn't have ten minutes to watch the complete video.
@@deanstarfish lol all good. We wish we had more of the actual raw footage of the boat going down to show but due to the looping function the camera was on none of it got saved in time. Thanks for watching!
So sry this happened
All good, thanks for checking in!
Biggest mistake was continuing to fish with such high wind conditions.
For sure, but you gotta finish out the tournament! There was ways to get out of the wind to fish, just unfortunately not to load your boat!
Laser boats should be sued !!! All boats after 1980 is supposed to have level flotation no matter what!!! 22 ft and shorter
@@randycooper2046 it doesn't look like the blazer passed to me!!!!
You have to a explain anything to foolish people. The thing is your safe, and your boat is okay.
Thank you!
Sure sucks, but totally preventable.
For sure, live and learn!
Not a Ranger... how could anyone help. Push the damn thing to the ramp load it
Basically everyone else there came up and helped me get all of my rods and reels, tackle, camera gear, and everything else out of the boat and onto land.
At least you didn't leave the drain plug out and launched like my dumb ass did in 1995 and swamped it
@@rickvann3489 not fun at all lol. At the same time though now I know what to do if anyone else ever needs help!
Glad nobody got hurt
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
